I brought my 2001 Mazda Miata into Aamco in Clearwater because the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder had failed. I had to actually have the car towed into the shop. Much to my surprise, Aamco absorbed the towing charge for me. The price was fair for the repair and Bill was extremely pleasant to deal with. And if that was the end of the story, I would be quite satisfied - but wait theres more. A month following the repair, the clutch acted up again. At first I figured that there was a failure with the parts they installed. I began driving to the shop to return the car. The clutch gave out entirely and I was stranded on the side of the road. We pushed the car off the road and again the car need to be towed into the shop. Long story short, I called Aamco from the side of the road and again the car was towed into their shop. It turns that one of the lines leading to the master cylinder failed completely. This was NOT a part they had replaced. It was simply a failure of a hydraulic line on my old Miata. Once they looked at it and determined that it was a failed line, I fully expected to pay for the repair work as well as the towing into their shop. Much to my surprise, when I went to pick up the car, there was NO CHARGE! Seriously, these people care about customer service! I normally cringe when I think about transmission repair shops. Well let me tell you, my experience at Aamco in Clearwater was over the top excellent! Far better all the way around than I ever imagined. Thanks for the great job and the fair and beyond ethical treatment. My Miata is purring like she should be. :-)

My car needs a lot of work because I didnt have enough money or credit to get all the work done, so I never did anything. My car needs a lot more work than I can afford, but I told them my situation and they gave me a full diagnostic for free. I already had an estimate from another repair shop and that estimate was more than my car was worth. I thought I needed a new transmission cause it was slipping and leaking. I knew I was long overdue for a brake job, alignment, oil change and tune up too, but just didnt have the money to get all that fixed. Anyway, they told me that the tranny just needed to be flushed and new gaskets filters installed but that I needed a new torque converter. Yeah, the estimate was still high but lower than the other repair shop who said I needed to rebuild the whole transmission. When I told them I only had about half the money right now and that my credit was bad, they said no problem, "We might be able to finance the rest for you with no credit check!" Ive never heard of anyone doing that before! No one else has ever offered to help me out like that, so Im very relieved and just want everyone to know that these guys are awesome and I recommend you check them out too, especially if you need help paying the bill.

My husband had to have his transmission rebuilt and always thought Aamco was the best place to have that done. Maybe some Aamcos but not this one. The work was done the beginning of Dec. 2012 and as of two weeks ago the transmission has been slipping in first gear and reverse. Finally today he took time off work to take it in. The person that "checked" the car and I use the term "checked" very loosely, took it for a couple minute drive and determined since there was no slippage while on the test drive that the car is fine. Not fine, Ive been riding in the car and can hear and feel it and Im not even driving. Then my husband was told to arrange for them to have the car for approx. 3 days if he wants them to check it over better. We can not afford another round of rental car charges and since the transmission was not fixed properly the first time then we should be given a car so he can drive to/from work. Just the all around attitude regarding repairs was horrible. They got our money and now could give a crap about good customer service. Stay away from this place. P. S. I rated the Appeal as good since we thought Aamco was the place to go.

GOOD PEOPLE WORK AT THIS SHOP! Everyone from Valerie at the front, to Alberto the technician, to Bill the manager were all wonderful with me and my clutch repair. Bill was 100% honest throughout the process. This repair had bad timing but this shop made all the difference and turned everything into a positive experience. Yes the shop is in a secluded area but I can assure you they took great care of everything from me to my truck, which feels like a new truck thanks to the clutch repair! Thank each of you xs a million, great to know there are still people with good values and intergity out there! The price was near half of what the dealer was going to charge, great deal. They have a great rental referral too. These guys saved my day! Thank you all for your hard work and kindness. Also fyi- very respectful toward women in everyway- so ladies if you are skeptical about getting your car fixed on your own bring it here they are honest. So greatful for that!

I have to say...I came here thinking the worst! These guys have treated me with the upmost respect, made me feel welcomed and kept me informed about my problem all the way. They (i dont remember hia name) test drove my car with me and he was very patient with me as I rambled on about my transmission. He wanted to do a diagnostic on my car to be 100% sure for $100...but instead the next day he informed me that he was most certain that it was my catalytic converter and instead of taking my money, he took it right down the street to where they do that kind of work!!!! And they were awesome as well!!!! These employees at AAMCO even gave me a ride home because I had to leave my car. So thinking the worse (it was my tranny) and being a single mom with XMas around the corner...these guys are really good at what they do and RESPECTABLE 100%....I would definitely recommend this place!!!!!

AAMCO on MLK, Jr. Blvd. in Clearwater, FL has been our go-to repair shop for the past 8 or so years. We have 4 vehicles so having an honest, easy-to-work with garage is very important. We never have to worry about so-called "new" issues after our cars are worked on as was the case with a place we used to go to. All the guys here are caring and helpful & on more than one occasion have assisted us with emergency situations. In this day and age its a real blessing to do business with people you trust. Economically, its vital to work with a car care place that doesnt try to scare you into getting repairs your car doesnt need. On another note, Bill and Dave are great guys and the mechanics are nice too. We highly recommend this shop for all your car maintenance needs!
