I’ve been a customer of Salon Gaboa for years, and it’s the best salon I’ve ever used. Their stylists and nail techs are total professionals. Before I started going to Salon Gaboa, I asked my assistant at the time, who was herself a hair stylist, to find a really good stylist for me in Clearwater. She was extremely particular about hair cutting technique, having been a stylist at the Vidal Sassoon salon in London. She looked and looked, and couldn’t find a local stylist that was up to her standards. Then someone recommended Salon Gaboa to me. So I suggested that my assistant go over and see what she thought of their stylists. She did just that, and watched both Ben and Vasco cutting hair. She came back and told me they both had great technique and were both totally expert stylists! Ben had the first available appointment, so I went to see him. He’s been doing my hair ever since. I really don’t think you can find a better stylist than Ben or Vasco. I also go to Pembe for pedicures, and she’s just as professional at doing nails as the others are at doing hair. Her polish never comes off, even if I have to push an appointment out much longer than usual. And my nails are always perfect after she does them. But one of the most important things to me is the friendly atmosphere of this salon. They treat their clients more like friends than like customers. I don’t have a lot of time to spend socializing. So when I’m at a salon for a hair appointment lasting a couple of hours, or getting a pedicure for an hour, I want to spend that time with a friend, not someone who just mechanically performs services. That’s the great thing about Salon Gaboa – the owners, Ben, Vasco and Pembe, are the nicest people you could ever meet. Once you’ve been their customers for any length of time, you’ll feel like they’re family. I always look forward to spending time with them. That’s about as good as it gets, but I almost forgot – they also have the best coffee around! :) Julie

I have used this Salon for over 7 years off and on. For the past 2 years, Dana was my stylist and I was very happy with her, and made sure I always tipped her at least 20% or better. The last time I went to her, I wasnt happy with my high lights, but had the understanding, that if I wasnt happy, I could come back and have it corrected. I had a vacation planned and needed it done, But her son was sick so she had another girl do it, which was fine...but on my next appointment, the day of my appointment, I received a call from the shop telling me that her son was sick again and she would call me for an appointment when "she had the time". I asked to have her call me, and when she did, I found out that she FIRED me,(the customer) that she has talked to the owner and that he agreed. She said that she felt like she wasnt making me happy, that we didnt click and that I would be happier if I went elsewhere. I have never felt so badly treated as a customer in my life. They have a nice salon and do good work too...but you better like what they do, or they may not want to do your hair next time.

I have gone to Lee at Salon Gaboa for 2 years now. Lee is always professional and very focused on really listening to me about what I want with my hair. I started going to her with long curly hair, that I swore would never be cut short. Out of know where, I decided to cut my hair off myself and to my surprise, I really liked it. It was shoulder length after I chopped it off. I went to Lee to have her professionally fix my "do it myself haircut". I had so much trust in Lees expertise and ability to listen and give me exactly what I was looking for, that every time I went back I became more brave with my short hair. I now have very short hair and absolutely love it!! Lee was the perfect hairstylist for me to entrust my big hair transformation with. She always puts my hair concerns before everything else, she is no drama, professional and extremely thoughtful. Thanks Lee for always doing a great job!!

Husband surprised me for my birthday . i showed the stylist some pics of how I wanted my hair & looked nothing like it, she gave me highlights. I wanted the balayage effect. I was unhappy so I went back to a different stylist & it looked good at first then when I washed & styled it . The color had bled & was all blotchy..you can see brush marks in my hair. Ive only ever got haircuts here and they do an awesome job. Color I wouldnt recommend here. My hair looks horrible & keep it up all the time until I let it grow some to cut off the dead ends from the bleaching. Haircuts yes coloring stayyy awayyy

Would highly recommend anyone going here!!!! A friend and I came to the area for business and wanted to get our hair done. We had limited time and Paul went above and beyond to get us in and make sure we had a fabulous experience!! We couldnt be happier! The staff is beyond nice and very helpful. Everyone we spoke to went above and beyond! I got my hair done by Chantelle and would send anyone and everyone to see her! She did a great job and was so much fun! My friend got her hair done by Brandi and she is thrilled with her hair! Overall, everyone was thrilled and couldnt be happier!!!

Me and my significant other went here for a women and mens hair cut. I was scheduled with Brandy while my boyfriend was with Jenna. We both agreed that this was a wonderful experience. I went in with extreme anxiety from a previous salon. Brandy was kind, understanding, and she took the time to walk me through her process. Jenna did a great job with my partners hair, and gave him a modern, classy cut. In the end, we both walked out with smiles and great styles that flattered us. I will definitely be returning here.

I was thinking about checking out this salon until I read one review where the salon stylist and owner decided to FIRE a client because she was not happy with the end result and neither wanted to make it right for the client. Also I noticed am employee of the salon rated it FIVE stars, valmira has skewed the rating of this salon with a "fraudulent " review.... beware patrons!!! I will be looking for a more honest place of service for my two daughters and me... Fantastic Sams sounds more enticing than this place..

Salon Gaboa has been my go to salon for many years. All the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the salon is very clean. Valmira has been my usual stylist for quite some time now and she always does a great job. I love how she does the cut exactly how I want it done. Also recently did highlights for me and they turned out great. Would definitely recommend to a friend

This is one of the best salons in the Tampa area. Sarah does my hair color and its done to perfection each and every time. I am a blonde and it always looks great. I highly recommend this salon and Sarah to anyone. Everyone who works here is amazingly talented.
