Tldr: Mean Girls Salon with minimal talent I went to this salon for my first hair and make up trial for my upcoming wedding. When I called and made the appointment, I actually talked to the stylist who confirmed my Sunday wedding date would be available and I email a few photos of how Id like my hair. Cue the actual trial: The make up was good, make up artist friendly enough, and thats as good as this review gets. My hair experience was not the same. So I show her the inspiration pics again (a 4 strand braid) and she flat out says "its pretty, but I cant do it." So her first attempt of a waterfall braid and curls is tragic. She rallies and does a couple of Dutch braids... Its better but absolutely something I could have done myself. Oh well. Meanwhile this stylist was nice enough to me but making fun of another client of hers. Not cool. Maybe I could have lived with it if my hair had wowed me. Meanwhile, another stylist has arrived and between the two, theyre now picking on the receptionist. I was a receptionist for 5 years in a nicer salon than this, so Im dying inside. Come to find out the second stylist is the owner... Time to pay up and make my escape and somehow Im still telling myself this place could work because my wedding doesnt need to be my Pretty Princess Day, the location is convenient, and Ive already invested time and money here. So here comes the real snafu. As Im paying, I confirm again that my Sunday date is good to go... Here comes the owner to say they DONT DO Sundays. Well someone told me via email that the date is good. Oh no, its the brand new receptionist, the nicest person in this mix! I say, hey, accidents happen, weve all been new... Thats not good enough for salon owner who is glaring daggers at this girl. Salon owner acts like shes doing me a favor by explaining theyll do my wedding but at an increased cost. Trying to keep this situation cool, I ask her to email me the contract with pricing and Ill look it over when I get home. I get the contract and a long apology email from the receptionist. Girl, you were the smallest problem of the day! Months later, Im still hoping this nice young lady has found a kinder group to work for. This was originally a one star review with no details and now its a novella... And Im not even done! The owner actually called me and left a guilt trip of a voicemail about making me a gift basket and refunding some of my money. So I call her back, she only mentions the gift basket because it was a shame she made it for me to never respond to the contract email...I really didnt have it in me at the time to explain all this, I didnt want to argue and that seemed like a path she was ready to take. Im fairly certain she reads these reviews so I really want to be clear why there is this one star review. Be kind to your staff, dont trash talk other clients (especially about their physical appearance that presumably cant be helped) and update your website if you charge extra/dont do Sunday events.

Chelsea and Laura came to St. Pete Beach to do my hair and makeup, as well as my maid of honor and bridesmaids. They were both excellent! We had so much fun with them talking and laughing and enjoyed both of them very much. It helped to keep the mood light and fun while getting ready for the wedding. I would absolutely recommend them without any hesitation. All of us looked fabulous. We will be sending pictures for them to post if they wish. All of us would agree that our makeup and hair was flawless! We all got so many compliments! I was so worried about my rosacea showing on my face and my makeup lasted all night until I removed it and you could not see it at all. I would recommend the airbrush makeup to anyone that has flaws they need covered. It was perfect!!! Love you guys! Thanks for making my wedding day more fun and making me and my girls feel and look beautiful!!!!!!

When I moved here from NY, I couldnt find a salon with the talent and service I had become accustom to. After a year of disappointment, I found Victoria at Island Estates Salon. She quickly proved herself through knowledge, talent and sense of style. She made me feel so comfortable that I started letting her call the shots and Im so glad I did. Almost weekly I have friends and even complete strangers compliment me and ask me for her card. I am happy to say she has been my stylist for over 5 yrs! Thanks Victoria, and all the girls at Island Estates Salon, for superior service!

About 24 months ago I started stepping my hair down from medium length to just off my shoulders. I did not want to go through something drastic all at once. Not only did Victoria do a fantastic job with my hair but paid special attention to the little things I wanted to still be able to do. The layers were perfect for my twists and braids. She also spent extra time showing me how to blow out and style each time i was there. Worth every penny. i will continue to see her on a regular basis. Thank you so much for making one thing in my life easier.

I have been going to Salon Island Estates for 3 years. It is a fabulous place; cozy, friendly and full of talented, professional people. Chelsea coached me through the process of growing out my colored hair and letting me go beautifully grey. Her cuts are excellent, as are her pedicures, which last incredibly long. My visits are always enjoyable - I am never rushed, we have fun conversations (think Steel Magnolias) and I am always treated so, so well. I would never go anywhere else!

Talk about amazing! Everything about Salon Island Estates is simply amazing. The girls, the products, the salon, the experience, I could go on! I will never go to another salon again! You cant go wrong with anyone you choose to see. Talk about girls who go above and beyond! I have never been disappointed in the years that I have been going here. Extremely clean and always up to date on all trends! Believe me when I say, you wont be sorry for choosing Salon Island Estates.

I visited the salon for the first time last summer. I went in and had a quick consult to make sure they could do my hair and get my roots to the color my previous hairstylist had done for years... They said no problem they definitely could...I went in for my appointment and they severely damaged my hair ( I have bleach blonde hair). I had to go back 2 days later for her to try to correct the color which damaged it further. I did NOT go back after that experience.

Want to share what an awesome experience I have had these past 4 years! Laura is my stylist and has always done a fantastic job! She has brought my look up to date and I consistently receive comments on how great I look with my new hair color and style! Everyone that works in the salon has a upbeat and fun attitude!
