In my opinion, I am not your average customer...in that, I am a car enthusiast, a customer service connoisseur...and an extremely critical paint quality critic. I drive, what I consider to be a special car...so of course, to my dismay, when I found out the shipping company that transported my car from the previous owner damaged it, I was very upset. They requested I get some quotes for repair...I have one close friend that paints, but hes not a business that could provide me a legit quote...so I ventured out on my own. My wife actually found this place...State Auto Body Inc...I mean, 43 reviews and almost all were 5 stars!?!? In the mechanics world and auto body...thats unheard of. I knew it was fate when I google image searched the place and realized Id actually done a photoshoot with another one of my cars in front of it (because of the cool looking building and contrasting color). I called and made an appointment to come in...met with the owner, Herman...not only did he know what car I had, he actually appreciated it and upon some discussion, we realized we had some similar cultural backgrounds. Within 2 minutes I knew that Id trust him with my car. I got my vindication from the transport company and was ready to pull the trigger...called Herman and we agreed on a future date to bring the car in. I subsequently dropped it off with the expectation of a few days without the car, but did make clear that I dont stand in the way of art and he could take as long as necessary to make the repair CORRECTLY. Well, some humid weather and some clear coat matching extended my wait by a few days...but to my surprise...when I showed up to pick up the car...it was PERFECTION. We sat and chatted about the difficulties of matching my clear and orange peel to ensure the repair would not be something a discerning eye could spot. We shared tips and tricks of the trade and stories about our appreciate for cars in general. ...now is when the story gets better... I arrived expecting that there might be some BS about "more material or labor than expected"...and what do you know, instead of that...I was told that the repair was actually more simple than originally quoted and that it would cost 30% less that wed agreed upon. What?! I had to pinch myself...NOBODY does that...NOBODY. He literally would NOT even allow me to add to the price as a tip for the courtesy paint compound that his detail guy did. Incredible...In addition to that, I was told to let the paint cure for 3 weeks and them back to address some other odds and ends to make the car perfect. All I can say is that in the automotive repair world...its hard to find an honest mechanic...and even more difficult when you add that body/paint is an ART...its hard to find an ARTIST that is an HONEST mechanic. This place is that place...I know that Ill be coming to Herman and State Auto Body for any and all bumper cover, fender, roof, failing clearcoat, I-95 shrapnel I may run into in the next few decades. Hes that good, and they left me feeling that happy with the service. Amazing, A++++++ and Im not FOS, feel free to message me for any specifics you may have. Let me also finish by stating that the one negative review this shop received was from a competing local shop and was unfounded...owner was too classy to point that out, but I think it should be known.

A few months ago I was looking for a body shop to paint the hood & roof of my SUV.... The quotes I got for painting only the hood & roof ranged from $800 - $3,000!!! It became clear to me that a woman shopping for a good job at a good price in the auto world all by herself, was/is considered "fair prey"!! I felt so disheartened!!! Then my neighbor told me about Herman. She claimed that he was fair, honest & that his work was excellent... Although I was skeptical, I decided to go see him anyhow. And, Im so glad I did!!! The 1st thing I noticed was the large "ASE Certified" sign outside the shop. Then I noticed that the garage itself was clean. Herman immediately came out to greet me. I told him what I was looking for. Then he took a look at the roof & hood of my car & without hesitation, he quoted me a fair price (regardless of my gender)!!! Just like that!!! Quick & straight to the point!! He also told me exactly when to drop off my car in & he even told me what day & time it would be ready!!! Everything about Herman inspired confidence!! Needless to say, I accepted his quote on the spot. Herman was true to his word in every way!!! The paint job was amazing & my car was ready at the exact time hed promised!!! There is one other point I should mention. As it turns out, painting the roof of my SUV turned out to be more labor intensive than Herman had anticipated. But Herman never deviated from the price he quoted me. He gave me his word & his word turned out to be as good as gold!!! I got a great paint job, at a fair price & amazing service!!! What more can anyone ask?? Herman Cunha’s State Auto Body is, in my humble opinion, the best auto body shop in S. FL!!!

It has been over 20 years since I have been using State Auto Body. I was recommended to Herman when I needed body work done on my car. When I picked up my vehicle; boy was I surprised! I could not even see that the car had been damaged. Not only does Herman take pride and have integrity in every job he does; he is fair and honest with every quote. Which is not common these days. You can always feel assured when you leave State Auto Body that you have been treated more than fairly. Trust is always a key factor when dealing with anything that involves cars. I have used Hermans shop repeatedly over the many years as well as recommend many clients who have been more than satisfied. He always goes the extra mile. It is amazing to see an individual who takes such pride and take such care in what he does. The shop is immaculate and organized. The employees are always very polite, cordial, and helpful. If you are looking for a body shop you will have stupendous results, trust, and have peace of mind - State Auto Body is my utmost recommendation. I have not enough positive things to say about State Auto Body and Herman the owner.

Hello to all reading this My car was in a wreck recently . A friend of mine recommended I get an estimate from State Auto Body. I was going to go to at least one more place but didnt after just meeting Herman the owner. I liked him immediately. The whole experience from dropping my car off to picking it up was the best you could ask for. Herman was very professional, kind and caring. I knew right away he loved what he does and really wants to make his customers happy. They even gave me a lift to the rental car place after I gave him my car to repair. I was so surprised when he said my car was ready after just 10 days! When I picked it up I was so HAPPY because it looked better then the day I bought it! Gods honest truth. His body shop guys went above and beyond on my car. They did and INCREDIBLE paint and repair on my car. I drove away one happy man. I highly suggest getting your car repaired here, you will not be disappointed. First Class job. It could not of been any better looking. Five stars for sure Paul M
