THE BEST OF THE 5 STAR COMPANIES! We needed a roofing contractor to re-roof our 2828 square foot, Jacksonville Florida house, requiring 41 squares of shingles. Many investigative hours were spent searching several websites. From this research a list of carefully selected roofing contractors emerged. This list sprang mostly from the positive comments of many satisfied customers of various contractors. Nine contractors were chosen to submit bids but A.J. Wells stood out as the first-place leader as he garnered the greatest number of positive comments. The estimates began arriving, but after receiving seven solid bids the remaining two contractors were called and a cancellation was placed for each of their forthcoming appointments. The seven contracts were reviewed and the lowest and highest bids were tossed out. Interestingly the difference between them was $2249.00. Each of these two bids were individually about $1125 away negatively or positively from the average remaining bids. The monetary difference between the five remaining contractors was respectably close. In one instance only thirty dollars {$30.00} separated two bids. With a tight competitive bid A. J. Wells was situated in the middle of the pack but this roofer held a commanding first place lead in other categories. Guss Plair arrived earlier than his promised appointment time and he introduced himself as the estimator before he began measuring the roof. Guss provided answers and workable solutions to fix existing problems and he never wavered from his good-natured demeanor as he was bombarded with a multitude of questions. Guss provided proof of insurance along with other legal documentation during his first visit. He also provided his cell phone number and he was extremely fast in returning my calls. Guss applied for and secured the required city & county permits. The building inspector came twice during the job and he did two in depth inspections. A.J. Wells provides their own roll off dumpsters so there is no need to wait for a dumpster company to remove dumpsters. Protective coverings were placed over the shrubbery and under the roof-line. These coverings caught the majority of the nails and small pieces of roof material. The final picking up nails took place with a sweep of the property with a wheeled magnet. From start to finish an excellent job foreman (David Lopez) was always present during the roofing process. Guss also showed up at various times as the job progressed. The wind mitigation form (is included with A. J. Wells) and this was initiated, filled out and certified by Guss after he inspected and took pictures of the decking, nail spacing, underlayment and shingles. He also included documentation and pictures of the hurricane anchor devices and hurricane shutters. This significantly reduced the cost of our homeowners insurance. No money was required to be paid (and several payment methods are acceptable) until the job was completed. Guss included proof of payment by A. J. Wells to the provider of the roof material before my payment was requested. Guss accomplished and submitted the necessary paperwork to Owens Corning for the 50-year material warranty and the 10-year labor warranty. A. J. *****YOUR BEST CHOICE IS AJ WELLS ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION!!*****In May 2015 I purchased my very first home. Nine months later, during a storm, a tree came crashing through the roof of my garage. I was devastated about the damage, but mostly worried about the potential issues having to deal with finding a good roofer and the results of the roofer’s work. I did my research, met with three roofing companies and chose AJ Wells without hesitation. The owner, Arthur Wells came out to inspect the job, explained what had to be done, what to expect and put me at ease about the repairs. He assured me that ALL repairs would be done without me having to pay anything additional outside of my deductible. He was attentive to every little detail, and gave me choices in ALL of those details. Arthur made sure everything was to my satisfaction. The AJ Wells team immediately went to work relentlessly from sun up to sundown in order to meet a completion date that I requested. Arthur Wells himself was always reachable anytime I called and made sure I was well informed every step of the way. The team got the job done and cleaned everything leaving no mess. I couldn’t believe my eyes! Everything was like brand new! Upon completion, the inspector came out and told me this is one of THE BEST roofing jobs he had seen and had NO flaws. Arthur Wells and his crew’s professionalism and quality of work never wavered and exceeded my expectations. I already have and will continue to recommend AJ WELLS ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION to anyone that asks. It was the GREATEST choice I could’ve made. They get any A+++ in my book!!

A.J.Wells Roofing is a highly respectable, reputable and professional company. I personally met with the owner, Mr. Arthur Wells for a consultation. He presented the products and plans for executing my new roof very well. Mr. Wells assured that I understood the roofing process from the foundation to the finish. The company offers an array of various products. A team member delivered actual samples with so many beautiful finishes to choose from! Mr. Wells was thorough in explaining and patiently answered every question. He would answer every text and phone call. The team that reroofed my house was phenomenal! They were very skilled workers. I know because I watched them periodically. They too, were personal and professional. My yard was clear of any debris. My total approval and satisfaction (along with the city inspectors) with the service were taken in consideration before payment was even discussed. Because of these reasons, I felt confident in my decision to utilize A.J. Wells Roofing in October 2015. I am a resident of Meadow Pointe subdivision. You may have witnessed on the news about the tornado damage to many of the homes in that subdivision in June 2016. Upon a general inspection, I can testify that my new architectural shingled roof was untouched through the storm! My family and I highly recommend A. J. Wells Roofing. I recently had received at least 6 estimates and although A.J. Wells was not the least inexpensive I decided to go with them because I had a sense that they were the right contractor for me. After receiving the estimate and conferring with Art personally I decided to go with him as I had a good feeling about his honesty with what he was telling me and the materials they were going to use. It was the smartest decision I could have made. The construction crew was superb. They showed up on time and were ready to go to work upon arrival. Although they had a slight delay in getting started the second day due to rain delays, they were able to start at about 9 AM and stayed until the job was finished a little after 7 PM. They were very professional and showed up the next morning to do the clean up after the project. Everything that Art had told me came to fruition. He would not accept a check for the work until after the final inspection from the city and he had all of the appropriate paperwork arranged (i.e., wind mitigation certificate, lien release for supplies, photographs of the project at various points, insurance certificate, etc.) with him to hand to me. This is a top notch roofing contractor and I would highly recommend them to any one needing a new roof without reservation. Bruce C. Lindsay
