via the High Country Outside San Antonio TX: "I would like to recommend Liza Aldrich as a fabulous hair stylist. After we moved to our ranch outside of San Antonio, I continued driving three hours back to Houston to have my hair cut and colored. Realizing that this was crazy, I tried different salons in San Antonio and my color went from bad to worse. After I discovered Liza, she worked on getting my color perfect and my hair back to a healthy state. Not only did she accomplish this, but when I would go to her salon, I never worried about my hair.. She always knew when my hair color needed "jazzing up" and I was always happy with the end result. It is very rare to find a hair stylist that is good at both color and cut. She always kept up with new cutting and coloring techniques, and therefore, I never worried about looking "outdated". Liza was always very professional and is certainly a "pro" in both coloring and cutting hair. I went to her every three weeks for about 4 years and was very sad when she moved to Florida. I would certainly recommend her to young and old alike and she will personalize your color and cut to match your face, skin tone and lifestyle. She also became a dear friend and is missed!!! My experience at the Aura Salon in Destin, FL was 5 star. Emily worked a miracle with color on my hair. How she was able to blend my natural brunette with my over processed blonde ends, add texture/highlights, and cover the gray at temples/hairline while achieving a natural look was nothing short of a miracle. She did this all in ONE process. I loved the haircut as well. She LISTENED to what my lifestyle is like and delivered an easy- to- maintain cut that can be put into a ponytail (that is how I roll most days). I was in and out the door in 90 minutes - how is that possible? There are some other things you should know about the salon. The products they used were top notch. No smelly dyes and the macadamia shampoo was divine. The shampoo bowls were the most comfortable Ive ever experienced. No awkward neck strain or water running down your back. While Emily worked her magic on me, I observed Amber, the salon owner, working on 2 other clients. Her results looked great as well. If you are in the Destin area, I would recommend you give Aura a try. Did I mention that the prices were reasonable?

I went to Aura for a root touch up only and told the stylist exactly what level and color the previous salon had been using, prior to her mixing the solution. My hair is naturally a level 9 blonde, and I wanted to match the level 10 color that Cortello had been using on me. After she colored and styled my hair I cried, because she had colored my hair a dark level 7. Ive been blonde since the day i was born and now I was suddenly a brunette for the first time in my life. When i asked her to explain, she said "I thought a darker color would look good on you." Needless to say, I made an appointment before I left to return the next day so a different stylist could correct my hair. All they would do is put highlights in my hair, they couldnt change the color again because it could damage my hair. Not only did I miss a half day of work getting it corrected, now I have dark hair with blonde highlights... I look like Im from New Jersey!!!!! Yuk! I will never again return to any Aura location. If I could give them zero stars, I would.

Unfortunately Poor and Fair are lumped together, but I would rate this salon as FAIR. This was my nearest Aveda salon, so it was the one I tried upon moving to Jacksonville. My first cut was okay - it didnt wow me, but I was happy with it. I booked my next appointment while there. A few days before, they called me to confirm, and I confirmed. When I arrived, and the gentleman at the counter said they had left a voicemail for me after the confirmation call. I did not receive a voicemail, but it could have been a technical glitch. Regardless, I was not thrilled with my appointment being changed after the confirmation call. I would have understood if she hadnt been able to come into work, but in actuality I had gotten bumped. I opted not to reschedule. It worked out well, because that forced me to try another Aveda salon, and Ive been going to Daniel James downtown ever since.

I went in with a medium length layered bob with highlights and low lights. There was some orange in my hair so I wanted it to get toned. It did put it took out all my highlights and everything now I have an ashy ugly light brown green color to it. I wanted an angled short layered bob I got my hair completely chopped off. I have an under cut from before that I wanted touched up.... Spencer took my under cut too high now I feel like I look like a boy. I do not feel pretty at all and I have never had such bad experience at a salon up until now. I am sure they have a few really amazing hair stylist, but unfortunately I wasnt with one. I do not recommend Spencer to do anyones hair. It lowered my self esteem and I do not feel pretty at all. I know that my hair will grow back, but in the mean time I feel like I can not leave my house. I feel really ashamed of the way my hair turned out.

June 15, 2017 @5:30 I had my first appointment at Aura Salon this evening. I loved the atmosphere as it was very relaxing, comfortable and trendy, not to mention the staff were all pleasant and smiling. I also enjoyed looking at the variety of hair and skin products they had available for purchase. My stylist was Heather B. Heather was an excellent communicator and listened to me complain about my previous uneven cut, by another stylist, in another state. She took the time to look at my hair and made suggestions on how to achieve the cut I desired. I walked out of the salon feeling like a million dollars, and thats what its all about. Thank you Heather for being so professional and thorough. I truly enjoyed meeting you and will return to the salon for another cut the next time I return to Jax. P.S. Follow your dreams!

I told my stylist in advance that I had a crazy work schedule and sometimes I might have to reschedule. He was always perfectly ok with everything. I had been getting my hair done here all year. Then my stylist moved out of town then got a new one and she was fabulous. I had to call today to reschedule due to work and they were really rude to me on the phone saying I would now have to pay a deposit because I have like rescheduled 5 times. Yes that was always in advance and I notified my hairstylist and he was always understanding. I have to stay due to the lady on the phone with her tact and rude approach I will not be returning. I was good business as I got highlights every 6 weeks and product. I will just go somewhere else! Maybe to a salon with 5 stars that knows the definition of customer service.
