I decided to go with Roto-Rooter because it is a well recognized company and it has been around for 80 years. The companys logo says built on trust, but my experience today with the plumber has completely crushed any form of trust I had for the company. I contacted Roto-Rooter due to a ceiling leak in the unit below me so I arranged for both my tenant and the unit below to reserve a good chunk of their day for the plumber. The plumber showed up an hour late to the site - the time window was 8 AM - 12 PM and the gentleman came out past 1 PM and arrived unapologetically. Once the plumber arrived, the tenant texted me saying the plumber has arrived, but he seemed very confused on what was going on, which was confusing for me because everything was discussed with the dispatcher when the appointment was made. I got in contact with the plumber within minutes and he answers with an attitude that could be felt through the phone. He advises me he is not sure what the issue is with the shower and that he will need to open up the ceiling of the lower unit to find the source of the leak. I tell him I will need to speak with my insurance adjuster. He immediately responds, "you have 6 minutes." I was very taken back by what he said, but I reassured him that it will take a few minutes. I called him back and said lets go ahead and proceed. He shoots back and says, "Well, I need access to the unit downstairs," to which I tell him that they have been waiting for him. He then proceeded to accuse me of not paying so he demanded a credit card number. Last time I checked, you DO NOT charge for services that hasnt been completed yet! Especially if the fee(s) hasnt been agreed upon. Also, if having the credit card on file was protocol, the dispatcher should have requested it when I made the appointment. Ceiling/roof leaks must be common in Florida so Im not sure where the internal disconnect was here. I didnt feel comfortable providing my card so I called Roto-Rooters office and spoke to Karen, the office manager. I told her what happened and she apologized and asked if I wanted someone else to come out today. I told her I would need to check with my tenant and the unit below because at that point they have been waiting for more than 7 hours. Luckily, they were both very understanding and said it will be fine for them to wait little longer. So, I contacted Karen on the cell number she provided, but no answer. I am very disappointed how a company with such a big/long history hires someone who is so unprofessional. This behavior is unacceptable and I really do hope they spend more time training the plumbers in CUSTOMER SERVICE.

If I could give them ZERO stars I would! DO NOT USE ROTO-ROOTER. While my husband was deployed, I noticed my sink was leaking. I called Roto-Rooter in Jacksonville, FL and had 2 of their employees show up within an hour. While they were here they told me I had water in my walls, cabinets would need to be ripped out and I would need to replace the flooring around the kitchen sink. And that I needed to start a claim with my homeowners insurance. I called my homeowners imsurance and one of Roto-rooters employees spoke to my agency (so its recorded). 3 additional employees showed up and stated my faucet was leaking and that what was causing the leak. I turned off the water so it would not continue to leak. Before they left they set up an air scrubber, an air humdifer and a fan. They said they would come back and they would replace the faucet for $250 As soon as I could go buy one. I declined. And said I could have my in laws replace it. They left the air scrubber, the humidifier and a fan for 3 days. The next day I got a 2nd opinon and they said no water in the wall and my cabinets and flooring was fine no issues. I should had realized that Roto-Rooter was falsifying records and attempting to claim fraudulent claims, but I didnt. On day 2 of the air scrubber and humidifier and fan being in my home I asked them to take them, but they stated it would be a bad decision since my daughter has asthma so I left it. A week later I was notified I had a $1000.00 bill. I asked to pay out of pocket mind you the only thing they did was leave an air scrubber, humidifier and a fan for 3 days. We negotiated down to $600.00. This week I was contacted by my home insurance carrier that we are up for underwriting and they needed to know what all was done with the sink in order to see if they would drop me. To say I am livid is an understatement. I have since then called FL Insurance Fraud, Consumer Services of FL, Dept. Of Agriculture and filed a claim letting them know of their fraudulent activity. I am going to also contact all surrounding bases to get them blacklisted and continue to leave reviews so NO ONE will use Roto-Rooter.

I am delighted to write a review about my service experience with Roto-Rooters Certified Field Trainer Plumbing Technician, MR. DANIEL DELUCA! Daniels knowledge, professionalism, technical performance and customer courtesies were IMPRESSIVE, OUTSTANDING, and of the HIGHEST QUALITY. He was punctual and well groomed in his company attire. He greeted me professionally while conveying an attitude of care and concern for my plumbing problems. Daniel used the doormat to remove dirt from his shoes each time before entering my home. He approached the plumbing problems in a manner that demonstrated critical thinking and gave detailed instructions or explanations. He offered solutions, with pros/cons, to enable me to make wise decisions for repairs. On one problem, he presented two options for action. On the other, Daniel took care of my plumbing problem right on the spot rather than postponing the repair for a later day! When he finished the job, he ensured the work area was neat, clean and free of any debris. Finally, he tested and demonstrated the functionality of the new "main shut-off valve" so that I would understand how to operate it correctly. I was so happy by the time he conducted the payment transactions, and I think I received a fair price for the work. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MR. DANIEL DELUCA for all of your plumbing needs. I tell you...I have called many plumbers to my home in the past 33 years. I will definitely ask for him for future work. I can honestly say that DANIEL DELUCA is the #1 Certified Field Training Plumbing Technician! Thank you, Roto-Rooter, for having MR. DELUCA on your Team. He is the BEST!
