I brought 3 bridesmaids dresses (to be worn in my brothers wedding) to Kathy to be altered. She completed 2 of them and the third, mine, still didnt fit right after the first set of alterations. She said she would take it in some more and have it ready for me in a week. We had already waited 2 weeks for the dresses to be altered. I foolishly paid for all 3 dresses and agreed to return in a week. When I returned to pick up the dress, Kathy told me she forgot to complete my dress. I was leaving in 3 days for the wedding, which was out of state! She asked me to come back for it the next day and said she would get started on it right away. I was shocked and very upset. I told her I expected at least a partial refund. She told me, "No, I told you I was sorry." I told her to give me my dress. There was no way I was going to trust her with it another moment or ever come back to her place of business again. This business doesnt deserve any stars at all. NEVER waste your time or money with this place of business. Trust me, it isnt worth the risk. A business that isnt willing to own their mistakes and take responsibility for them isnt worth anyones time. UPDATE: My original review stated that 2 of the 3 dresses we brought to Kathy were completed. It turns out that they were not completed properly either. After my dress was not delivered as promised, I had my daughters try on their dresses again, just to be sure. It turns out, the work she completed on these dresses was wrong. When she measured the dresses originally, she never used a measuring tape. She just eyeballed it. I trusted that she was the expert and knew what she was doing but, I was VERY wrong. I had to take ALL three dresses to be repaired in Massachusetts TWO DAYS before the wedding. I had to pay an additional $100 for these repairs to be completed and that doesnt account for the fact that we had to personally drive the dresses to the tailor, due to the time constraints. This was 45 minutes each way. My dress had to be taken in another 3/4 inch on each side and my daughters dress had to be taken in a total of 3 inches (1 1/2 on each side)! My other daughters dress had to have the lining repaired so that it didnt keep poking out. It is truly never worth risking your alterations to this establishment. I can highly recommend the tailor in Massachusetts. They acted professionally, went way above and beyond what was required, and didnt even charge a high premium (which would have been perfectly reasonable) to do it. This was the direct opposite of what we experienced with Kathys Custom Tailor & Dry Cleaning.

I dropped a black and white dress that I bought a month before from Macys and wore once off for dry cleaning so I could take it on a trip to Vegas. When I went to pick it up they had it taken apart in pieces it looked like rags. Apparently, when they dry cleaned it, the black bled into the white and instead of telling me, they were going to try to take it apart and replace the white panels...but they ran out of time. I kindly asked them to give me money to replace the dress so I could buy a new one as we were flying out the next day. I gave the a copy of the receipt and a print out from a Macys manager and they flat out refused. They claimed it was a defect from Macys and told me they would have to replace it. Macys refused to take the dress back becasue it was not its original condition and the guarentee was not valid because the dress had been taken apart. Kathy wanted to replace the white panels and offered me nothing else for compensation but there was no way the dress would be ready it time. I never heard back from them and I never got my dress or rags back. I wouldnt reccomend them to my worst enemy.

I am a flight attendant. I require my uniforms to be altered often. I brought my uniform to Kathy to be altered. The first time it was altered I put the uniform in the washing machine and the hem came undone. I then took the uniform to Kathy to be fixed. She fix the hem. I brought two more uniforms to her to be altered. She told me it would be done in one week. I came back at the end of the week it was not done. I came back the next week it still was not done. I came back two weeks after that it still was not done! I then waited 1 month after that, and came back, the uniform was done. She refused to give me any kind of compensation she could care less that the fact that it took two months to finish my uniform, and was extremely unpleasant as if it was my fault. In my opinion this person does not need to be in business. She did a horrible job when she did do it on time the first time, and she did a horrible job getting it done on time the second time. Rude and inefficient.

My $180 4x6 rug was brought here to clean pet urine stains out of it. This cleaners outsourced the rug to Fabricare Dry Cleaners in on N. Florida Ave to be cleaned. The result was the rug was ruined from overly harsh chemicals...and then when I went there to pick up the rug, they told me they "the cleaners on Florida ave (Fabricare) has it. I went to Fabricare and they told me they "accidentally threw it away". Kathys Dry Cleaning gave me my $38.00 back, plus $20 for my $180 rug. I have now retained a lawyer to take them and Fabricare to court. Such a shame I would be treated this way.

About a month after I got several pairs of pants hemmed I noticed on one pair that the hem was coming undone. I took then back expecting it to be no big deal to get it fixed. I was asked "Did you wash them?" Well of course I did. What kind of question is that? ! They proceeded to behave like it was my fault the hem came undone and said they couldnt have it repaired for almost an entire week! Horrible customer service. I wont be going back there.

Terrible experience! Brought her a pair of jeans to hem, picked them up one leg is higher than the other so I called her to tell her, she asked me to come back when I was there she said she didnt see anything wrong and I just wanted something done for free when I had just paid for my service! Never again

Brought a leather jacket in with a torn seam in the pocket. An older man with a thick accent refused to work on it. Told me it could not be fixed. Strange! I took it to Richies on Dale Mabry and they fixed it like new.

I have been going to them since I was 16 and am now 25. I have never had an issue with them. I had a prom dress that needed to be altered last minute due to unexpected weight loss and Kathy had it done in time.
