Finally made my way to this restaurant for some authentic beer battered fish n chips. The hostess was nice but a bit reserved as well as the bartender, maybe because Im a new face on a Tuesday afternoon? Anywhoo, I went to the ladies room first and the womens bathroom was clean and stocked with tissue, soap and paper towel. Sat down at the bar and was warily greeted, not long after by the bartender, she introduced herself as Miss Janice. I said hi and proceeded to order the vanilla porter and fish and chips. The beer was good, the fish was fried nicely and had a good crunch and hot, flaky and meaty center. Chips were fried too hard, making them a bit difficult to eat. The coleslaw needs work...kinda just rough chopped cabbage tossed in a little sauce of some kind. The tartar sauce was good but for me the red sauce (cocktail??) didnt do the fish any justice. All in all it was the fish I wanted and I ate both pieces. Pricing for lunch was a bit steep..almost $20 for just me ($25 with the tip) and all I really enjoyed was 2 pieces of fish and a beer...thats why I took off 1 star. I came, I went, I saw...not sure if its worth going back with so many other restaurants in that area, Id rather not but for less than $25, I can fry fish at home.

This is rural Florida and the closest metropolis to here would be Orlando. Meg Omalleys is located in an active downtown circuit of Melbourne. I would say that Meg Omalleys would be the most happening place to be at night round these parts. The age median here would be mid 30s to mid 40s but its a really active crowd when the live band starts playing. There are 2 major parts to this place, the dining area and the bar with stage. I ended up on the dining side but wished I was on the bar side. You can hear the music the same though. Biggest win was all day all night cheap Jameson and Irish Coffee. I downed about 6 of these. oh yeah baby! -=-shepherds pie-=- so theres a couple upgrades you can do to this and I went the whole enchilada on it. I did a Mac and cheese upgrade and got more cheese on top of that. To the side you would get a stone hard bread and cabbage. Im usually not a fond of the name shepherds pie since its basically seasoned ground beef with cheesy stuff on top, but call it meat on cheese any day and this dish has my full support, just toss obsurd amounts of cheese on top. The cabbage was great too with a light salting.

Had an excellent experience here dining midday with my boyfriend. I cant believe it has taken me so long to come in after being in Melbourne for a few months now. He ordered the club and it was HUGE!! He also got a pickle- aka half a cucumber! I liked the house vinagarette dressing on my salad and I got the Seafood Mac and Cheese (I am not a HUGE lover of Mac), but it was delicious! I also really enjoyed the garlic mushrooms as my side- they were garlic-buttery goodness. It was more than enough food and we both ended up taking home leftovers. I didnt care much for the crabcake, but our beers were delicious and reasonably priced. Our server was attentive and the staff was friendly. I will be back!! They offer a contest on Monday night for ladies who come in to watch football, but Im not sure of the details.

We sat at the bar and it was great. Friendly bar tenders, live music (a bit too much Johnny Cash though, wanted more Irish stuff). The food was amazing. I had the bangers and mash, fantastic. My wife had the corned beef and cabbage, both of which were perfectly done! The beers were good, cold, and served quickly. My wife got the brownie dish for dessert and it was over the top. Certainly enough for both of us to share and didnt leave room for anything else. Very good! We walked around afterward looking for other options in the area, but each of them just left us wanting to get back to Meg OMalleys. I could have stayed there downing Guinness all night if I didnt have to drive home. Most certainly we have to go back, as much as possible. After years living in Boston, this place was a welcome find.

When you enter Meg OMalleys you start to get the sense of being in an Irish pub. Dark wood and lots of ale paraphernalia. The hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed when she sat us, she might have been new. I couldnt decide what I wanted to eat - the menu is impressive with all the Irish staples. I decided on the Kilkenney, probably one of the best sandwiches I have had in a long, long time. I added a side of Tater Tots which were perfect. From the salads to the kids meals, everyone left the restaurant full and happy. One complaint - the booth they sat us at had a 2 top right next to it where one person at the 2 top would have their back right next to your side. It was weird. Definitely will go back again and again.

Good food and good time until they turned off the US Open golf tourney 3/4 of the way into the Saturday 3rd round. We had spent most of the afternoon watching on big screen while enjoying food and drink till it had to be switched to an Orlando soccer match so folks sitting outside would get the sound for the game. Nobody was watching soccer inside, guess its sound system glitch and it meant cutting off biggest, most exciting US golf tourney of the season. Note, we also moved from our table to bar to make room for folks waiting for tables. Manager apologized and offered to buy me a beer. No thanks, wanted golf, not a beer.

What an excellent place! Awesome Irish Cuisine!! Great atmosphere and even better food. They have a Cigar Friendly outdoor patio area. I ordered the Jameson Cracked Pepper Sirloin and a “Black Castle” (Guinness and New Castle) to drink !! The steak was cooked to perfection and the Jameson brown gravy was excellent. Courtney was my server, she was super nice and very attentive even though I was 1 of 2 people on the patio on a Tuesday night. She did a fantastic job. If you are ever in Downtown Melbourne and like the Higher End Irish Pub feel, this place is a must visit!!

If you go on an off night for dinner its GREAT. If you go on a late night weekend forget it, its obnoxiously loud. Let me put it into perspective the last time I went when they had live music I had a headache from the level of the volume and I am 100% deaf in one ear and 30% in the other. On top of that the idiot musician knew about 5 songs and kept repeating them at the same volume even after I requested it changed numerous times. Long as you avoid it during a high volume time (events, late weekend evenings) its a great place to grab a good meal and a few pints at a good price.
