Im being generous giving this review 2 stars. Actually, the 2 stars are there ONLY because the Group X instructors are fantastic and other staff are friendly! Ive been a member for about 2 years not and this place is going downhill fast. The other reviews are right: the machines are old and not maintained AT ALL, and the entire facility needs work. If it rains you have to dodge several trash cans, buckets and various other receptacles to get around because the roof leaks. At one point a leak caused the wood floors in the Group Fitness room to buckle and create a mini-hill right between all the bikes. It stayed this way for a few months. The bikes are awful hand-me-downs from another club that are falling apart (pieces are literally missing from a few bikes). I enjoy spin classes so I joined this gym but since 2014 started, classes have been slacking. Several late classes and an instructor no show (not the instructors fault: he apparently filled out the necessary paperwork to have the day off but no one did anything about it.) are a waste of my time and money, especially since I pay for this gym specifically for the classes. Todays spin class is the last straw. The microphone was terrible and barely working (which is more that it usually works!) and there was no auxiliary cord for the girl to plug her iPod into. She, Erica, did a great job for this to have been her first class at this gym and getting no assistance from long-time staff. I pay to go to this gym for the classes and convenience as I live nearby, but the convenience is no longer worth it.

If you live in the grove and can walk to this location then for that reason (and the fact its always open) its a good gym for your gym needs. As far as equipment gos its not "new" but it is clean. Try to avoid peak hours because just like any popular gym you will be waiting for equipment to free up. Its due a remodel that is for sure but that costs alot of money. The location is horrible for parking and paying for parking will cost you more than a membership over a month. There is no Sauna or steam room and that is a huge downer for me. Staff is great, very nice, considerate, and willing to help. The gym cleaning crew is always working hard to wipe down the quipment and keep what they have nice. so all and all its a good gym IF you live or work in the immidiate area. PROS: -Clean -great staff -good classes -OPEN 24 HOURS! -Great monthly price with no contract (less than $40) CONS: -slightly out dated equipment ( they do have good equipment just not new stuff ) -No sauna/steam room -spin classes and such are wishy washy

Traveled to Ft. Lauderdale from Houston for a business trip and drove to Miami specifically to visit this location to work out. This place is small and old and the few pieces of equipment they had were old as well. I expected much more from a Shaq branded location in Miami. I regularly visit the 24 Shaq here in H-Town (Pearland) which was recently remodeled over the summer. The Miami location actually looks worse than the one here did prior to the remodel. I dont hang out in the restrooms at the gym but I did notice it was nice when I used it after my workout. For yall in MIA, hopefully a remodel in on schedule for this location. Come on, Frat...tell 24 to come with it! This is not a complaint against Miami. Even though the gym seriously needs a makeover, I got my workout in, had a good time and the women looked good. If yall ever visit Houston check out the 24 Shaq in Pearland, it is now a Super Sport.

Dishonest sign up procedures...not only did they make me pay two months in advance, but four months down the line was hit with a ANNUAL FEE - it seems to me theyre trying to milk every single member with additional fees given the fact theres a comparable (BIGGER NEWER) gym just down the block for a FRACTION of the cost. I called Gonzalo to speak with him and told me "theres nothing he could do for me" and absolutely none of this was mentioned to me during signed up...I had been a consistent client of their business and it did not seem they were making ANY effort to make it a good deal for me even though theyre charging THREE times the amount of YouFit just down the block. EXTREMELY disappointing and will be canceling my membership ASAP. I hope the extra fees allow them to keep the gym afloat for some extra months...

Really disappointed with 24 hour fitness. I tried cancelling my membership and they were trying to charge me about $290! When I signed up this was never explained to me. Youve got to be kidding me. My initial payment which supposedly is supposed to cover the first and last month wasnt even half of that amount! At this point Im so upset, Ill never recommend anyone to go to this gym. None of my friends or family will go there. Signing up to this gym was a mistake. I only went once, out of the 3-4 months I signed up. I wanted to put 0 star but I have to put a 1 in order to make this review. Careful, all they want is your money.

Only reason my wife and I keep going here is that its open 24 hours, but they blast rap music with nasty lyrics always, no matter when were there except Sundays when they have a little heart and do an 8os mix. Weve asked them numerous times to change it or at least lower the volume so we can listen to music on headphones, but no luck usually. They also dont keep the place very clean. Some of the staff is friendly, at least, and after years of having to find a working machine they finally invested in new ones. They also keep raising the monthly fee, so dont be fooled by low introductory offers. Overall, not our favorite place.

If you enjoy working out in the dark and using equipment from the 80s then this is the gym for you!! I just wanted to workout for an 1hr to test the gym out, it cost $20 for a day pass which is equivalent to a month pass basically forcing you to sign up. You can be referred and get a free month I believe but there are much better gyms in the area. I would pay not to work out at this place. You get what you pay for. Hint for managers: Just buy some LED lights and install them it would make a world of difference.

Great 24 hour fitness! Signed up at the club with Alain Alvarez the sales manager. He was very friendly and gave me an entire tour of the gym, explained parking, introduced me to the front desk girl and one of the trainers and was very professional. Made the signup process very easy compared to some other gyms where they try and strong arm you into signing up right then and there *cough cough LA FITNESS! I will definitely be recommending this gym to my friends and co workers. Thanks again Alain for helping me out!

Update: not as bad as I previously reported. Another business trip and needed a quick workout. This gym is clean and has adequate cardio equipment and weight machines. Upstairs there is a pretty good room for spinning, circuit weights and other classes. But its a small, crowded place (I went at 6 pm) and it is barely adequate if you want free weights. Ill still go over to the other location when I have more time, but Ill probably go back to this one again because its closer.
