I gave them one star because there isnt anything less as an option. Had there been I would have selected it. The entire USPS is a sad, mismanaged, over-worked monopoly that should be turned over to the private sector. I mailed a letter guaranteed overnight delivery and it didnt make it. Its missing. They cant find it but say it was delivered to GPS coordinates so it was delivered. I guess close is good enough for them. Ive spoken to every supervisor in the Palmetto post office and they cant get anything done. Today I was given the phone numbers for the receiving post office. One of the 4 numbers was no longer in service. The other 3 rang, rang, rang, and rang until finally went to a fax tone. They have no idea what customer service is or the word GUARANTEE. Im not letting them off the hook. Ive contacted my congressman Vern Buchanan and paperwork is on the way to file a claim. This is good news for UPS and FEDEX. I wont be using the USPS again.

Maybe they are more helpful inside, but anytime I call to get help, any person I speak with, especially Lisa, is extremely rude. Telling a customer over the phone, "No. No. I cant help you with that right now. I am helping people at the window, so Ill try to get back to you..." and then putting me on hold for over 15 minutes, is NOT acceptable customer service. Maybe thats how you were raised in the North to treat people, but here in the South, we EXPECT more personable customer service workers. If you dont like your job, please do everyone a favor, and go work somewhere else, where you dont have to deal with customers.

I have mailed lots of packages at this Post Office. Many times and many packages. They are always prompt, courteous and friendly even with the Christmas rush. Thank you Palmetto USPS. You guys are TERRIFIC. BTW Mr. SourGrapes - so they left a package outside the door once in 17 years? Id say thats really good. They may be protecting themselves from a lawsuit - entering your home? Wish mine would leave it inside the porch but I understand. In todays lawsuit happy world I would cya too.

Where did my and all the other prior reviews go? Are you making Google delete your well earned negative reviews? This USPS location has caused me and others serious issues many times! For comparison, the location in Ellenton is doing a really good job, but you guys? How many times did you screw up by not delivering on time, claiming that nobody was at home or mixing up mails within the neighborhood? Half of the staff at location is rude, including the manager.

Usually not the first location I head to even though its the closest one to my home. Not rude but spotty customer service and when theres a line turn around and leave because it moves so slowly. For some reason when I send a package from this location it always takes an extra day when all of the locations surrounding it will get there on time. The best thing that could happen to this place is an APC machine. Then I would just go there all the time.

USPS has incorrectly delivered more packages by far than they have correctly delivered them. Today they put the key to the parcel box with my package inside of it in another persons mailbox yet again. Hopefully they will return my package to me. Its sad that I have to rely on strangers being honest because USPS cant complete the simple task of placing a key in the right mailbox.

I have lived at the same location in Palmetto for 17 years, never have I had a package left out on the side walk instead of inside the screen door patio undercover. They did not even have to take an additional step, just open the always unlocked screen door and leave it undercover and out of view.

My packages are constantly left in the wrong mailboxes and had another one that was obviously put in someone elses mailbox because it says it was delivered Wednesday but I DID NOT get it. A very costly mistake on the part of the PO that I cant replace.

I had a package from Amazon sent to my old address and called the post office. Sam held on to my package for me the next day so I could pick it up. Great service and a job well done. Thank you Sam, my friend will now have her Birthday present .

Horrible service in person. They refuse to answer the phone when you try to call. It just rings over and over. Even post offices nearby hate to try to deal with them. When you complain to them they say they know all about it. HORRIBLE

Pure incompetent people never deliver the packages on time I live in the same area for 18 years and never, I was past something I was lost, things are not delivered or given to other people is enough are a farce all the time
