I was very unhappy with the customer service at AF Auto Body. While the work they did was fine (it was an easy job of replacing a damaged grill with an after market grill), they were very misleading about the work that would be done. I went in initially for an estimate on replacing my damaged grill. I said I would be fine with after market for my 2004 Civic and they gave me a surprisingly low quote of $45. I asked if that included everything and Flavio assured me that it did. Since they were the first place I had checked, I then went to Maaco for an estimate. They quoted me $135 for an after market grill including everything. I then went back to AF a few days later to have the work done, not before asking several more times if he was SURE that included EVERYTHING, because the price was so low. He assured me the $45 covered the whole job and that it was very easy so they were not charging me for labor. When they were finished, I saw that they hadnt painted the grill! Shocked, I remarked that he had told me that price included everything. Flavio then said that he had told me it would not be painted (which he most certainly did not). He then said it would cost another $150 to have it painted. I was speechless. Why would anyone assume that I would not want the grill painted. If anything, the default assumption should be that I do want it painted, as why would I make a superficial improvement like replacing my grill if I didnt care how it looked. I could have continued to drive the car indefinitely the way it was before. I was only getting the repair done because it was so inexpensive and would make it easier to sell, and I had informed him of this! Maaco by default assumed I wanted the grill painted and gave me a quote which reflected that. When I compared the two prices, I was not comparing apples to apples as I had intended. I feel like I went to a restaurant and ordered a steak. Fifteen minutes later the waiter comes out with a slab of raw meat and then asks with surprise "Oh, you wanted that cooked?"

Flavio at AF Autobody had done some fender repair and repainting on the Toyota Camry 2007 a couple years back with good results. We had to deal with the same car again in Feb 2016 because the original blue Toyota paint job on the hood, roof and back deck was "bubbling" terribly. Flavio gave us a quote that included a repaint of those three surfaces and the repair of dented plastic rear bumper which was done poorly by another vendor. Flavios quote was for $1000. The results 2 weeks following the work still look excellent. We continue to be pleased with the work performed by AF Autobody.
