Very disappointed with the lack of organization and communication at this YMCA location. Im part of a group of 15-20 people who have been coming three days a week to play pickleball at the gym during the reserved time of 8:30a to 11a on MWF. However, it has not been uncommon to show up at 9a and the staff hasnt finished setting up the nets or havent begun at all. I shouldnt have to repeatedly ask for the facilities to be setup for the scheduled activity. While thats been frustrating, its nothing compared to being told one thing by the staff at the membership desk, specifically "Yes, you guys have the space reserved on Monday," only to show up on Monday and have another staff member tell you that they wont put up all the nets because they want to let the basketball players have a chance to play as well? When the calendar outside the gym confirms its pickleball scheduled for the entire gym for that entire time slot...?? Or, in the middle of your reserved time (which, again, the calendar outside the gymnasium confirms) a staff member walks in and just says, "The gyms closed today." I dont just use my membership for pickleball, but Ill be canceling it because of how poorly managed their program has been. Its not worth putting up with when there are other locations to play for free (The Shores) or for much cheaper (Port Orange Rec Center). LA Fitness will get my business for my other fitness needs.

First of all, I would like to talk about the misuse of the basketball courts, many of us dont appreciate that when we go to the YMCA solely to play basketball, it is taken up by childcare, because they have to separate the boys from the girls just to "protect their innocence". I also am against the rudeness of the manager towards the children. Many of the children who go their from anywhere, are the only ones who go their out of anyone in their family. If the rudeness doesnt stop, we will cancel our costly memberships, and go to the much friendlier Port Orange Recreational Center, and thats valuable money lost. Also, when we tried to bring a guest, they wouldnt let us, because they call it a "liability" even though none of us have ever suffered a major injury. The only reason why I didnt give it a zero was because, first of all 0 stars is not an option, and secondly, the staff, other than the manager, tries their best to be friendly. One other thing before I conclude, when we tried to file a complaint while we were physically at the Y, the manager followed us, and told us to step away from the customer service desk. Since that happened, thats why Im posting it here.

The management at this facility are awful. The gym is pretty small and over crowded most days, the pool is closed more than it is open to paying members in Florida the SUNSHINE state, the $24/month membership fee isnt worth paying for what few amenities you actually get. I tried to cancel my membership over the phone and was never instructed that they require you to physically come in to the facility to fill out a cancellation form, was then transferred to an extension for someone on vacation who claimed, when I called them back a month later after seeing they charged my account again, that she got my voice mail but could not understand my name and therefore couldnt cancel my membership or call me back to let me know about the form, and all she could do was repeat there is a form you have to come in and fill out.

This Y is OK. The Pool - which is lovely - and the best thing there has a tendency to close with poor weather or repairs. The most frustrating is the repairs. On these occasions the pool will be closed "until further notice". How, after a couple of days can you not get an idea about days/weeks/months? The phrase is very unhelpful and, and a little unbelievable. Put it this way, you can get a pool built with some idea when it will be completed, I am sure repaired is less complicated.

Giant roach crawled up wall of ladies locker room. Clueless guards let random people dive in pool in area where water aerobics class is in session. Once I counted seven people swimming thru the class. Front desk Kristi (sp?) is always rude. People laugh at her, I do not. But I do object to her attitude....

Director needs to become more engaged. Notice poor supervision in some areas. She tends to care less. The help would be well advised to regularly police the premises. Its a people to people business. She likes to be in her office. Facility has tremendous potential.

I have never had an issue here. They have a few great exercise classes I attend, and I love swimming at the pool. I do wish there were a few more challenging classes, and adult sports leagues...but other than that, I always enjoy my workouts.

Its ok but $24/month seems expensive for what they have to offer. Theres only one spot for benching and about two of the rest of the machines. Theres plenty of treadmills. And it seems like the place is mostly for their yoga etc. services
