I stopped in at the agency since it is located close to my home. I was determined to work closer to home instead of driving 20 miles in heavy traffic to and from work. In the reception area, I was impressed that there were pictures of "seasoned" professionals hanging on the wall. Every other agency had pictures of younger employees, not giving an older person any hope of possible employment. I registered and tested with Joann at this temp agency. She was friendly, enthusiastic and made the process painless. We discussed what I was looking for and within 2 weeks, she called me with an assignment that was a perfect match for me. I have been there a week, its temp to perm and 1 mile from where I live. The people are extremely friendly where Im working and I feel my efforts are appreciated. Kudos to Joann and Express Employment. Id like to add that every other temp agency I signed up with (and there were a lot) didnt even extend the courtesy to return my calls or show an interest in what I wanted even though I aced every test they gave me. They fail to realize that even though I may be older, I am still a productive person and can work rings around most younger people due to "life" and "work" experience.
