I found Muse The Salon on Google under "Tampas A-List Salons" so I booked an appointment for an up-do for my fiances First Class Navy Birthday Military Ball. The website made it look like a top notch salon and seeing as how Im not from around here I had to trust the pictures and reviews. The day of the ball I arrived at this little house that had been turned into a salon. I walked in and it was nice, not what I expected, but nice for what it was. I tried to call to let them know I was stuck in traffic and was about ten minutes late, no answer so I leave a message. When I walked in Monica (the stylist that did my hair) was clearly annoyed by that and the snooty tone was only the beginning of the disastrous experience I was about to endure. I showed Monica two pictures, one style I loved the front but the back was a little too crazy for my taste so I showed her the back of the other one and asked if she could combine the two. She said yes, except the front wouldnt be as high as the picture because my bangs are a lot longer and heavier than the woman in the pictures. (That was fine by me I know I have mass amounts of hair and I would rather know the truth before hand.) She started to do my hair and I was a bit confused as to why she wasnt using a curling iron because it was very clear that the back style required it. Instead she just sprayed strip by strip sections of my hair and rolled them up with her fingers. Towards the last few strands she curled the bottoms so they would be easier to "tuck" into the rest of the heaping mess. The picture showed pinned curls just at the bottom of the hair and pulled to the left. This was everywhere. Strands were hanging out everywhere (to my later discovery) there were smashed pieces of hair. I was devastated to say the least but embarrassed to say anything. So after I left from paying EIGHTY FIVE DOLLARS!!!!! (Not including tip) I had a break down in my car called and they said come back. On my way back Monica calls asking where I am, I say on my way and she demanded to know where, said I should have said something before I left and said she needed me to hurry because she had a meeting. Then it turned into "I have more appointments" (not true) and said I would have to wait if I wanted it fixed, which I was now on an extreme time crunch not to mention an emotional wreck and down a fourth a tank of gas from the drive there and back. I said "If you dont want to fix this then I would like a refund $95 total is outrageous, especially when it is NOTHING like I wanted." She said "I can give you back $30." I said "So $65 for a hairstyle that is nothing what I wanted and I wont wear?!" I ended up having to hang up on her because her attitude had me in a frenzy. I went back and basically left with an even more hideous hair style than she first gave me. I am so beyond displeased and I am BAFFLED at the fact this place got ANY good reviews. She was clearly inexperienced and unprofessional to say the VERY LEAST. She had her $100 and thats all that mattered to her. Today I looked on their facebook page and saw two different pictures of two different women with the hairstyle they ended up giving me. CLEARLY that is all Monica knows how to do! Now I am $100 out and still had to end up doing my own hair for my fiances last college ROTC military ball.

I have just moved to Tampa, and needed a haircut. I read the fantastic reviews, and gave Muse a call. I wasnt very hopeful, but asked if they could fit me in the same day. I was speaking with Monica, and she had a cancellation ( perfect timing ) Entering the shop you will be impressed with how clean and inviting it is.I took a look around...one stylist !!! Monica had worked me in as a new client while she was working alone...I was impressed before she even touched my hair, As she was finishing up another client ahead of me, she offered me coffee, tea, or a glass of wine. This was literally like walking into the home of a friend. Monica did one of the best cuts I have ever had, She seemed to know my style in the brief time that we talked and I was given an easy to care for cut, that is practical day to day. After receiving instructions on how to style, along with a instructions to come back in a couple weeks if my bangs needed cut ( she said just call and see if she is in, she will do them for free... do NOT cut them myself...LOL ) I went out following my visit there, and received compliments on my new style. I have found a diamond in Tampa...thanks Monica ! The prices are reasonable, her skill is excellent, but most of all you will feel as tho you have made a friend within moments of meeting her.

My fiance and I, are new in Tampa. We decided to search on Google for a place where she can get her hair colored.. we came across "Muse the Salon" saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. Well, today my fiance had an appointment to get her hair colored. We walked into Muse the salon, with her hair all damaged from being to dried from the weather here in tampa and also from my fiance, flat ironing her hair a lot. I will guarantee everyone one thing for sure about the work and wonders Ms. Monica would do for your service.. SHE KNOWS HAIR LIKE NO OTHER... I love the way my fiancé hair turned out! Not only were we satisfied with the work Ms. Monica did on my fiancé new look. But she gave us tips and techniques to up keep a healthy hairstyle. I highly recommend Muse the salon to anyone who is looking at getting a new hair do on color... we walked out of "Muse The Salon" more than satisfied. I wasnt even the one who got my hair done. But I felt just as satisfied and happy as my fiance was.. THANK YOU MS. MONICA, FOR THE TIPS AND ADVICE. I am happy to see a smile on my fiancé face because of the satisfaction of her new hair color. I am so happy to find this place, Monica is very professional, the color that she use are top quality, I am coming from Pinellas county just to get my hair done, the first time I went there my hair was damaged with all the color and highlights done in my hair by a previous Salon, she study my hair, my face, the color of my skin and recommend what is the best color for me, now I kind of have to get use to all the complements I get from my friends and people that I dont even know, my hair looks healthy, I buy their products and I couldnt be more please with the results. I totally recommend this Salon, not only for how my hair looks, but also I am treat it like a queen when I am in there, and for me to recommend any place it has to be good, because I am a very picky person, when it comes to service and I am not very easy to please, totally approve, because my slogan in life is My taste are Simple, I like the Best and Muse Hair is the BEST, two thumbs way up for this place, totally worth it!
