I was hired at Xar hair salon about a month ago, the owner Alex Gullo expressed to me that her salon was very busy and she was in desperate need of help. I immediately took the job, in the month off working the four days a week I made around $300 in total for the whole month. For the most part I was her assistant and had duties such as cleaning, sweeping, organizing, helping her with her clients and answering phones to set appt. She never had me sign any paper work which I didnt know was nessecary for the simple fact id never work at salon like that not being the fact that that this was my first job as an independent contractor so I guess apparently she also had me unknowingly working off the book. so just a little advice for any hairstylist out there stay clear of this salon and as for the clients this not a full service salon the cant even do simple upstyles. I was fired yesterday for asking her to sign my own personal log book because I had felt like my paychecks were coming out short, which they were and I assume she refused because I could call the business bureau on her with solid evidence. Again Im not petty nor spiteful so I will not do any of those things just be careful with that women looks can be deceiving and kindness can easily be faked

Absolutely terrible customer service by the owner. I called and made an appointment with her for 1 hour from the time I called. I turned up to the salon as scheduled, but the salon was locked and no-one was there. I went to have lunch at the West Indian shop 2 doors down, but was constantly ringing and checking to see if Alex had come back. Over an hour later, no-one had turned up so I had no choice but to give up. I rang and left a message asking her to contact me so I could re-schedule. Its been 3 days, and Ive heard nothing. She doesnt even have the decency to return my call or to apologize for her extremely poor customer service. If she treats others like this (as it seems from some of the other reviews), then it is only a matter of time until she goes out of business, and if she does, she will have no-one to blame other than herself. She has certainly lost my business, which includes my family and my friends. Terrible customer service and attitude from the owner of a small business.

I have lived in Winter Garden for only about a year. I consider myself fairly new to the area still and hadnt really gotten a proper hair cut since I moved here. I am now happy to say that I have found a permanent salon. The atmosphere was just amazing! Alex was the one to cut my hair and she was such a gem. Such a sweet lady, so nice and funny. I felt comfortable there just chatting with her, while she took care of my hair. I didnt have any specifics in mind really, just that I had to be able to work my hair into a hat for my job. In my line of work its hard to for me to do much with my hair. She did great! I feel comfortable in my hair and love the way it looks. I can completely count on going back to Xar, to see Alex and have her do my hair again. Just being there for the short time that I was, I was happy with the music, the service, and the way I saw that each person to walk in... was treated like a friend. What more could I ask for in a salon?

Very nice atmosphere, beautifully colored and furnished. Relaxed hair stylists who know what they are doing. I am extremely happy with color and cut. However, I subtract 2 stars. I purchased a Groupon voucher for cut and partial highlights for $45. I know that this is a very good price and the salon will not make much money with it. Hair drying was not included, but I said "yes" anyway when I was asked if I wanted my hair dried, and I was prepared to leave a good tip. I was definitely NOT prepared to pay an additional $35 for drying/styling barely shoulder long hair when cut and color was $45. I also would have expected that somebody would have told me in advance how much it would be. This is something to work in, ladies!

After searching at least 3 different salons in the past few months, I finally found Xar Hair Salon. Located in Winter Garden and I must say I hit the jackpot. If your a man and are as picky as I am about your hair, search no more. I received an excellent cut by Jessica Rameirez (highly recommend). Right when you walk in the door you are greeted with a personable smile. No snobby receptionists here. I was offered a drink and received service promptly (by reservation). The proprietor Maria (sweetheart) couldnt of made me feel more at home. The atmosphere is upscale and refined. The chairs actually massage you while your getting a shampoo. I am looking forward to my next visit. Not just a haircut, and experience!

Just got my hair cut today by Belinda and she did a fantastic job! When I first entered the shop Alex (i believe that was her name) was very warm and welcoming. She even offered to take me when Belinda was a little behind (only by 5 minutes btw) but I was in no hurry so I waited for her and I am so glad I did! I have baby fine hair which apparently is a challenge for stylists. Belinda was confident she could give me a great cut and she delivered! This was probably the best haircut I have ever gotten! I would highly recommend these ladies! They are friendly as can be and the shop is clean and well styled. Will be my salon for many years to come! Thanks Belinda and Alex!

DO NOT waste your money! The salon is very nice and most of the staff is friendly but I had the unfortunate luck of getting a stylist who chose not to listen. I asked for my ends to be trimmed but ended up losing two inches and I have VERY uneven bangs. When I went back to complain that my bangs were incredibly crooked and too short I was told to "go home and let them grow back." The stylist that I showed my bangs to even said that they were cut wrong and with the wrong tools but unfortunately they couldnt be fixed. Save your money or give it to someone who will listen but above all, avoid XAR!

belinda is the bomb she cuts hair and do that color that color she do is some serious alex has and nice comfortable shop kaily she give people all the imformation they need to now marie cuts hair very good they are the Excellent BOMB KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT GOOD WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! alex does blowots very good this is the best shop in town!!!!!!!!!!!!

BELINDA TOOK CARE OF ME TO DO A CHEMICAL PROCESS AND IT CAME OUT PEEEERFECT! LOVE MY HAIR :) I HAVE BEEN GOING TO XAR FOR ALMOST 1 1/2 AND THE EXPERIENCE OF GETTING MY HAIR DONE GETS BETTER AND BETTER. ALEX ( STYLIST AND OWNER ) LISTENS TO WANT YOU WANT AND GIVES FRIENDLY SUGGESTIONS!!! I JUST LOVE THIS PLACE......BEAUTIFUL SALON!!!
