Was it expensive? Yes! Did I mind? No! Why? Because I still havent seen anyones micros that look better than mine did! Can you get micros for as little as $50 from your neighborhood teenager? Yes! But they will certainly not compare to the quality of work you will receive from Feelings (and they will probably LOOK like you got them done by the neighborhood teenager). Is the atmosphere one of top upscale salons? By no means! It is cluttered and the furniture definitely needs to be replaced. I think they make up for it with quality work and pleasant attitudes but the decor is the ONLY reason I didnt give them 5 stars. Do they speak french most of the time and watch TV shows from Africa? Yes! What a perfect opportunity to experience another culture! It was a bonus for me since my ancestors came from the same country they did especially since I have no idea who my ancestors are! I loved my micros so much that I am going back! I had mine done about a year ago and I am doing it again with pleasure! I posted some pictures so others can view their work. I am the woman with the light brown micros. They were mixed with blonde too but its hard to tell from the pictures. My hair was absolutely stunning! My hair is much longer now so I am not sure if I will like them as much since I am expecting them to braid a lot more hair before leaving the rest out but I am sure I will still love them. I will post my new braids once I get them. And by the way, my micros were $300 and I left a hefty tip because I think they deserved one. If it cost me $300 to make my hair look as good or better than celebs, so be it! And my micros lasted about 3 months! Guess Ill have to bring my wallet! And if they need to take a break to eat.... why not! They are people not machines you know! I took my daughter, who was 8 at the time, to get her hair braided there too and she loved her hair as much as I loved mine (if not more). Hers cost $50. I am counting down right now to my appointment!

I just got my hair done yesterday (knotty twists) and it is beautiful. They are not too tight and the color of the hair matches my skin color very well. They spent quite a lot of time mixing different packs of hair to match my skin color and hair color. Also, I went in at 3:30 without an appointment and walked out at 8:30 with beautiful twists. I certainly overpaid, I know that, but sometimes you get what you pay for...and I had two braiders the entire time and I had no appointment and I was out in less than 5 hours. As far as the braiders taking a break, the ASKED me if they could take a break to eat, offered me some of the food, and then took only 10 minutes to eat the rice and immediately started back on my hair. The atmosphere is what I would call a traditional Aftican-like atmosphere...they spoke in French most of time (which might make some feel uncomfortable), they watched movies and videos from different countries in Africa, and many people stopped in and visited with the braiders while they were braiding. They did take an occasional cell phone call, but that hardly interrupted the braiding process. My only complaint is that they overcharged me, and as the other reviewer wrote, they tell you upfront and you can take it or leave it or negotiate. Next time I will certainly negotiate, and I would encourage anyone to know what you want to pay up front and then not budge from there. Good luck!

I have visited this salon once before and I think they deserve some good publicity. They do a great job at this salon, however is it the typical African braiding salon experience. And to clarify when I say "typical African braiding salon experience"...I mean, speaking French harshly, small disputes in French, watching African television and talking on the phone constantly. None of that bothers me though. Yes, they are expensive, but I think they may be worth it. Although Ive paid the same prices in larger cities that have, receptionist, free coffee/snacks and a general professional ambience. You wont get all that here, but youll definitely look like it. I get compliments all the time on my braids. So hey! Ill pay the price for braids that last me 5 or 6 months and they still look fantastic. I posted two pics, the first one has 5 month old braids and the other has 5 day old braids.

I am not sure what that ladie SISTA 1 was talking about, but i went to this place to get my hair braided and they were very nice and my braids were very neat and good looking, it was not tight and the ladies were very fast, it lasted for about 2 months and i went back and got a touch up there. I also refer a couple off my friends to them and they came out loving their hair, and we all always go back there to get our braids. There are very nice people, i do not know what SISTA 1 was talking about they did not ask her to eat, she could have gotten her own food. I am telling you guys to go to feelings because they do not only do a GREAT job, but are very sweet people. : )

Two problems, First my hair wasnt even braided a month and twist were already coming out on their own. The quality of their braiding could be much better. I decided to try this as new place instead of my usual braider, however after this experience I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Ill be returning to my usual braider. Second, I was quoted one price over the phone and then when I got there she raised the price. For the quality of work I received it most definitely was way overpriced. On a positive note there were two women working on my hair and the women were all very polite. However I wont be returning due to cost and quailty.

Had a appointment at 11am didnt get started until 12 something even though the lady braiding my hair was very quick braiding it didnt like how i had to wait on and off for her to eat and to top it off they couldnt use the hair i bought so i ended up paying more then i expected (which was suppose to be $80 but ended up being $170) still not to bad but can improve on there services and not schedule appointments in between each other while having the next customer waiting i like services were they get you in and out my braids are a 10 but there etiquette with customers and scheduling is at a 3

Today was my first day! The Ladies were very kind, and professional! We started right on time, and there were two Ladies working on my hair the entire time. They did a great job, and did it within a reasonable time (I got Microbriads with Wet and Wavy Hair) I will definately come back, and I would also highly recommend them :)
