I went into the store today to pick up my moisturizer (dermatlogica active moist, amazing stuff!) and also to return a Christmas gift (the naked smokey palette). I didnt have the heart to ask the the person who gave me the palette for the receipt so I was without one but knew she purchased it from ulta. The item was in the original box and in perfect condition, I didnt even swatch the shadows as I knew the darker cool shades werent for me. The sales associate at the checkout was very nice but explained that she couldnt do the store credit without a receipt but gave me the Human Resources phone number without me asking and suggested maybe they could help. I bought my moisturizer and called the number on the drive home. The very helpful woman on the line explained that the associate should have given me a store credit as that was policy and was done all the time and apologized for her not giving it to me. She suggested I try a different ulta or go back and explain that they need to review the company policy. I was a little irritated as I live over 30 minutes away from the closest ulta (the athens location) and over 45 minutes away from the second closest. To add to the unpleasantness, when I got home, washed my face and opened my moisturizer, I found that the bottle was not in good condition. It was swollen, bent and had no seal like it normally does, so the product began oozing out. I was completely out of my previous bottle so I had no choice but to use what bit had come out and found that it didnt feel like it normally did on, it felt greasy and sat upon the face instead of sinking in. I called the store and the associate said that the product should be returned and they would hold it for me until I could return (she was nice and helpful even though I was accidentally hung up on). Ulta is such a hit or miss ,unlike Sephora which Ive only had good experiences with. Im a platinum member at ulta so I visit the store pretty regularly as its the closest option for me and its so disappointing spending money in a store that you never know what kind of knowledgeable service or product quality you are going to get.

The store itself is nice, clean, well organized, and theres always a coupon. I purchase makeup here most of the time. I had two great haircuts with the same stylist in past year (Rachel) and decided to go for a cut and balayage highlights. Instead of highlights my stylist basically bleached over half of my hair. She tried to fix it by toning it, but its just completely different than what I asked for, and it looks like Im a high schooler who tried to make my hair ombre at home. :( I didnt even get a real hair cut. I dont know if she was having an off day or what, because she is a really sweet girl, I love her to death, but she ruined my hair yesterday. After speaking with the manager and salon manager, they offered to fix my hair. I let them know I would prefer to go to someone else, and they gave me a full refund. I was very grateful - Cynthia and Amanda were extremely kind and courteous, they didnt pressure me into using the salon to fix my hair. The color can be fixed, but the damage from bleaching so much of my hair that didnt need to be bleached will just have to grow out. I cant say I will be using the salon again, but at least they were kind enough to give me a full refund. The assistant manager helped me with my refund, and her hair was highlighted exactly the way I had asked to have mine done - she told me that Amanda was the one who had done her hair. So if you need a stylist at ulta, ask for Amanda. ;) I was totally happy with my two previous cuts by Rachel, but this past experience was a nightmare. 5 stars for customer service, but no stars for a terrible hair experience that should have never happened. :(

This Ulta Beauty is the best! The beauty advisors are super nice and knowledgeable as well as all of the managers! Whether you are a girl looking to learn about some new make up techniques and/or brands or if you are looking to purchase some skin care or hair products, or If you are a guy looking for some skin or shaving products I DEFINITELY recommend checking this Ulta Beauty in Athens out first!! If you have some type of skin problems or anything, they carry products to meet the needs of everyone! The employees enjoy helping anyone and everyone that has any questions and are very knowledgeable about all of the products that they carry. They carry everything a girl could ever dream of and also a ton of stuff for men too, they also have a wide range of products for any budget. They carry everything from Rimmell, NYX, Revlon, and ULTA brand cosmetics to higher end brands such as Urban Decay (LOVE!), Tarte, Benefit, Too Faced, Lorac, etc. I LOVE this place! Id definitely recommend checking this place out no matter who you are or what you may be looking for. They carry lower end and high end hair products like Redken, Its a 10, Matrix, Kenra, etc. They also carry hair styling tools (such as CHI, Revlon, BaByliss, etc), skin care, bath products, shaving products for men and women, fragrance, etc. :)

Beware of the potential health concerns from this store. A few days after Christmas I visited the store and witnessed a young woman trying on lipstick by applying it directly to her lips. When I mentioned this to one of the store personnel, their comment was "yeah, thats gross". When I pointed out that this is cause for concern as disease can spread with this type of practice, she just shrugged her shoulders and continued to ring up my order. Secondly, I went to the store to buy blush. Waited in line for 20+ minutes to check out. However, when I got home and opened the blush, it was almost empty. Although I was upset about this, the lipstick thing mentioned above is really what got me going and this just compounded the issue. Shopper beware when you go to this store. With as much critical consideration the city of Athens uses to allow a chain into our area, this store doesnt deserve to be here. Herpes, common cold, flu are just a few things that can be passed by sharing lipstick.

I was pretty disappointed with what I saw today. I walked in and it was unbelievably jam packed with tables for merchandise which didnt leave much room to move around and look at anything, especially with there being other customers. I also noticed that the staff was not helping people but were standing around gossiping with each other. When I made it over to the isles with the NYX stuff I wanted I was really disappointed to see that their stock was unbelievably low and the isle was very untidy. I guess none of the employees go down there and clean up through out the day because things were left everywhere and almost everything they had left in stock was opened and some of it used. The last several times Ive been to this Ulta their supply of NXY has been super low and the whole area was completely trashed. All of that on top of the store being over-crowded with tables for merchandise made it a relatively unpleasant experience. I havent seen this at any other Ulta.
