The guy who runs this place, Brandon Davis, is a total jerk- he berates customers in front of other customers and is super defensive about anything and everything. At first, I thought he was being rude because he kept referring to me as a woman, and I wrote it off as sexism, but one day he checked me in and was getting on to a PAYING GUEST about some random thing, and was super rude about it. Dude, we are your customers- without us, you have no job. I tried getting in touch with corporate about his behavior, but I never heard back. Other than that, the gym is OK, but Ive seen nicer LA Fitnesses. For the price, you cant beat it, and the yoga instructors are really great. Sometimes, the instructors dont show up, which can be annoying, since most of us commute a while to get here. Itd be nice if they had some kind of system about canceled classes, but they dont. / Years later- My husband joined LA Fitness so he could take classes with me. They told him he was getting a multi gym membership but did not give him one. After months of this location promising that they would change it for him, they never did. He ended up calling Member Services on his own and they took care of it instantly. I dont know why this location cant get their stuff together.

Not a pleasant gym but fundamentally enough for a decent work out. The mens locker room reeks of boiled giraffe blood, many of the gym-goers are generally clueless about basic gym etiquette e.g. jumping rope amid the weight machines, not replacing weights, particularly in the correct category, sitting on equipment (on the phone), sitting on the stairs after a b-ball game, etc. The staff has a tall order in cleaning up after so many people who dont know how to operate in a gym environment. The staff, as far as I can tell, doesnt seem very helpful; I rarely see the expected hourly gym cleanup where weights are gathered up and returned to the correct area. Furthermore, the staff doesnt do anything to make you feel welcome, save for the mixed-woman at the front-desk who always has a positive and motivated attitude. For a gym that serves a lower socioeconomic demographic (East Point) much of the lack of gym etiquette is to be expected as is the cluelessness of the staff. While these annoyances are vexing, I find that Im able to get a good workout in every time albeit in a less than pleasing environment. Im there to workout and Im able to do that unimpeded so it works for me.

I agree, LA Fitness Camp Creek is not the best gym around. It does smell often and the locker room is filthy. Luckily for me, I stay right behind the gym so I can wait until I get home to shower. Though the gym is nasty and smelly the biggest problem is the nasty members. If we wouldnt leave trash around then it wouldnt be so bad. There is a trainer that I think need to re think this attire, I can see his package and Im not talking about mail, yes his penis is always visible because his shorts are usual super tight. Very nasty..... I dont wanna see his ding a ling. Ive notice that the staff change more than underwear so the turnover is very high. The guys and some times girls playing basketball have the whole gym funky. I can barely walk pass the court without passing out. I think a shower should be required before working out. I dont expect people to smell like roses in the gym but they shouldnt smell like they crapped and forgot to wipe their ass.... ugh..... Old National is much better but i can tolerate Camp Creek, there is always something interesting to see.

I completely understand how you feel but the statement "Thats why I try to educate black people"... As if all black people are uneducated. That was pretty ignorant to make that comment. And was he ignorant because he had someone watching you (just as black people are watched in Caucasian establishments) ? Or was it because hes black? Did it ever occur that regardless of whether you are helping or not, that it is his job? I used to work as the Customer Service Manager for a VERY large Personal Training company and thats what they are trained to do. They are not allowed to watch an un-certified individual train another. WHY? Because, gym/contractor liability. If it happens in your gym while you were there, you are at fault as well. So lets say your friend hurt himself that evening. Not only can he hold the gym liable but also any staff or managment on duty depending on his contract. Im not trying to come down on you but words are powerful and you will get back what you put out. So re-read your post and see if your getting back what your putting out. Ignorance.

My OCD a** is so not happy with this place... Let me count the ways! Hot as Hell! Its always dangerously hot in any area of the gym.. the group fitness studio is so hot and clammy that Its hard to focus on your workout The treadmills are disgusting and caked with dirt ,sweat, and debris.. not to mention how outdated they are. The whole place is disgusting, it looks and smell that way regardless of the time of day I want to go running back to Planet Fitness!! There gyms are spotless, very well kept, and cheaper than LAF, the only reason I considered leaving was for group fitness &the pool.. but considering how uncomfortably hot the studio is, I dont think Ill be spending much time in there, unfortunately No paper towels, Towels, Soap, who does that ( at a germy gym??) Makeup is a gym no no..but no one here, seems to know this or even care.. Its a superficial supper club up in this location. Unbelievable actually!! This gym is 7 minutes from my home, but I will start to make a 20 minute commute to a better kept location ( Old National)

This gym is unsanitary and definitely a health risk. It is my understanding that it has the highest traffic of all LA Fitnesses in Atlanta, but is the most unkempt. Once, I purposely left a piece of paper on the restroom counter around 11:30 pm (because I knew Id be back at 5:00 am) just to see if the paper would still be there. The paper was still there that morning! RIDICULOUS! When I leave my job, I spend at least 15 to 30 minutes tidying up if needed. The workers should not be leaving at closing hours alongside customers. There needs to be a mass deep-cleaning of this facility at least quarterly. Restroom stalls need to be trashed and replaced, signs explaining restroom etiquette posted, carpets in locker rooms removed, and walls painted. Old National Locations ladies restroom is so clean you can eat off the floor, but that gym isnt as convenient. Corporate, please follow up on these comments. These gyms are our livelihood. Ive lost 100 lbs going there off and on, but have slacked off because of the conditions.

I worked out there for the first time 9/2/14. It has the usual great equipment. LA Fitness should remove all carpet from the mens locker room in all the LA Fitness gyms that have carpet. Some of their gyms have tile. The carpet smells like monkey nuts. Its so easy and cheap to change it. Not to mention, when I opened a locker to store my stuff, there was a live roach laying on its back. Apparently it couldnt get up. I removed him. As I was walking out to hit the machines, I noticed that there was roach motel on the floor in the corner exiting the mens locker room in plain site. Then, it came to me. The roach that I found was in the wrong locker room. He was looking for the roach motel, but ended up in my locker. The roach was so tired from searching. He took a nap. Thats when I found him. The urinal walls in the bathroom are rusted at the bottom. It must be some sort of new decoration. It was old rust. Other than that, it was great.
