The highlights of this place are the friendly staff and the grounds themselves. The chateau is absolutely beautiful, from the inn, to the pool, to the winery, to the spa. The biggest (and truly only) complaint I have is that the amenities listed on the website are NOT consistent with the hours they are actually open. We came Monday-Thursday and the website AND the brochure in the room itself both had pool hours and restaurant hours listed incorrectly. They stated Fleur de Lis was open for breakfast daily but it only actually has breakfast on weekends. (The spa itself was also hard to find without asking for directions.) The pool bar was listed as opening at 11 daily but really opens at noon throughout the week. It would also be nice if the winery was open later than 7 pm. The gift shop was unable to break a $20 bill which was also slightly inconvenient, and the treadmills and elliptical machines almost all had tv screens that were not functional which was disappointing. The pool was lovely and spacious with plenty of comfortable chairs and umbrellas, but the waterfall advertised by the website (that allegedly pours into the hot tub) wasnt running at all. The pool bar staff was awesome-- Crystal gets five stars, hands down. Dinner at Marc was unexpectedly awesome, particularly the Brussels sprouts and the charcuterie board that was far superior to the one offered next door in the winery. Robert, our server, was super friendly and knowledgeable and took plenty of time explaining the dinner features to us and making us feel welcome and special. We got tremendous enjoyment from the after dinner house made caramels with duck fat. Absolutely mouth watering. The lemon pepper wings and the snake bite drink at Paddys were both excellent and the price was right for the pub fare. The room was very clean and well appointed, and the beds were extremely comfortable as well. From a cost standpoint the room rate was totally reasonable, the spa services seemed overpriced, as well as the majority of the food and drinks, but thats to be expected at a nice resort hotel. Yoga for $15 at the spa was really enjoyable, and the tennis court hourly rate of $25 seemed reasonable as well. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the chateau to friends looking for a quiet or romantic getaway, particularly with a unique winery twist.

I took my family to the Mothers day Brunch buffet. The place is very nice and the embiance was very good. The food was good, however it was not worth the $85 per adult and $50 per child. The buffet was worth $32.95 at best. The selection was not very good. I would have thought for this price I would have been like the Sterling Brunch at Bally’s in Las Vegas for $90 where you get everything top shelf like lamb chops filet mignon fresh shucked oysters, Dungeness crab claws and all the Don Perignon Champagne you can drink etc. Instead it was a mixup of finger foods, cheeses, mashed potatoes, the standard omelet/ breakfast bar. Oh I forgot to mention 4 carving stations with woohoo. To top it off they had self serve juices already 1/3 poured in scotch glasses in the buffet rather than the server bringing you juice or refilling your once 1/3 filled glasses. If you wanted more juice get up, walk across the room and get more. If you wanted a alcoholic drink you had to purchase one after you paid $85 per adult. In short this buffet was not planned out well and made to look more filling than it really was due to the small ingredients of dishes spread out and divied out in super small portions. For example Cesar salad, the dressing was drizzled into a champagne flute and one piece of lettuce was stuck in it. So you pulled it out and ate the piece and your done. Im sorry for coming off as an ass, but Im really P’ed and trying to write a decent review. I am only giving them 2 stars because of the scenery and the ambience, but the buffet was negative a star. I would not recommend anyone spend this type of money for this buffet unless it is Comparable to the sterling buffet in Las vegas. The buffet was over priced and it just seemed as though they were looking for a profit rather than making the mothers day memorable for Families. They could have at least had man in a tux playing a piano or gave a rose to all the mothers that came in to have lunch, but they didn’t even have that. SMH

If youre looking for a romantic getaway, planning a wedding, a quick school field trip, to learn about wine process, or a relaxing trip with the girls to get away from the husband and kids, this is the place to be. For me, I went with my dad thinking this was going to be a lengthy tour of the wine process; it was short (30mins) and in 2 spots. A two hour drive for a one hour stay; I was disappointed. You get to taste up to 8 wines for $25/person, which is sectioned off into sweet and strong (you also get the opportunity to purchase). My dad and I chose the sweet side; my favorite was the SUMMER WINE (I think because of the peach). Whats great about the tasting is that you dont have to do it in one sitting. My dad and I decided to walk across the Hall to the restaurant called Marc; they of course had wine for the beverage choices; we figured there was no point since we still had 4 more wine tastings so we only had water (which was surprisingly free). We both ordered the Faroe Island Salmon which included salad. The wait wasnt too bad but they provided us with bread and mama butter (which contained seasalt). When we finally got our food, we were highly disappointed in the "salad" which was a bunch of grains called quinoa; and the size of the salmon was really small. Paid $41 total for two people. My dad still talks about it; this was about 2 wks ago). If you do plan on going, Id recommend eating at a local restaurant instead. Also, if going for a special event and need a place to stay, rent from the local hotels that are literally across the street. Trust me, your pockets will thank me. Nice, relaxing scenery but dont think Ill be returning, at least not in a voluntary compacity of a day trip.

We attended a wine festival at the resort. If rained, which the resort had no control over. However, they can control how they respond to the inclimate weather. They handled the weather well. The wine tasting was inside of the winerys facilities and the industrial look added to the experience. There was food, whiskeys and a delightful band outside under a tent about half the size of a football field. We were dry under the tent, but if was a little cool. The hotel is large with open areas which provide nice views within the hotel. Staff was polite and attentive. The room was spacious with a quality bed. The TV programming was dated and with a generic hotel setup. Its a small complaint because few people go to a resort to watch television. The hotel more than made up for the poor TV by providing free wifi. I did not attempt to stream media, but normal web browsing went along nicely. Im a sucker for free wifi. The bathroom was spacious and made with quality materials. The bathtub was large enough for two, as is the shower. We had dinner at Paddys Irish pub. I was not impressed. We had potato soup and pretzel bread with cheese dipping sauce. The food was on par with Applebees. The soup was bland and uninteresting. The pretzel bread was clearly made in a factory and microwaved. This might be something that I could overlook, but the cup of soup was $8 and the pretzel bread was $7. The staff was nice. Overall, I was impressed with the wine festival, the grounds, hotel and room. The food at the Irish pub was sub-par for the price and did not rise to the quality of the rest of the resort.
