I was suppose to travel from New York to India. I am a first time traveler. Me and my family coordinated with a travel/ticketing agency to book the tickets. They failed to mention anything about a visa. So i did not get to board the plane and now have to pay a hefty fee to reschedule the flights. I dont understand why it would not be a Standard Operating Procedure for them to mention, only mention about obtaining a visa not helping me with the process, because at the end i as a consumer have to pay the fees and use them again to re-book the tickets. I think there is a scam here. They dont mention anything and when a individual is rejected to board. I believe they benefit from this. They are safe because of this loophole that they are not responsible. When i contacted them. The lady i spoke to mentions she bring the visa matter usually to people traveling to Europe. How much sense does that make. Why not mention it to every individual traveling to a country that requires them to have a visa. At the end we as a customer are being screwed over not the business. Terrible customer experience.
