Traveling is such an incredible way to enrich your life, and my husband and I are extremely lucky to have Joy and Tom Thrun of Classic Travel – along with their excellent staffers -- to help us make the most of our trips. Like many people, I mistakenly thought that using a travel agency would increase the cost of vacations. Little did I know that you don’t pay any fees – and you can even save a ton of money, since travel agents have a line in on outstanding packages that can significantly decrease your plane fare and hotel rates. What’s so lovely about owners Joy and Tom is that they care about you as an individual. Their own passion for traveling shines through in their commitment to helping you get the trip you’ve always wanted. Classic Travel’s staff work hard to find out exactly what it is you prioritize in life, and, using their extensive experience in the travel industry, they go out of their way to tailor a trip to make it special for you. Joy and Tom helped my husband and I plan our honeymoon to Maui and I can tell you this: Thanks to their guidance, we had an absolutely perfect honeymoon. From the resort they booked for us to the restaurants we enjoyed, from the off-the-beaten-path activities to the must-see spots, we didn’t have a single misstep in Maui – and we credit the fact that Joy and Tom, who love to travel themselves, took the time to get to know our likes and dislikes and to help set everything up for us. One other example I want to give is that last year, Classic Travel got us a trip to Florence, Italy, for literally half the price that we would have gotten with an Orbitz package. I’m not exaggerating – we would have either been able to spend half the time we spent there, or we would have had to pay twice as much for the same trip, had we booked it ourselves. In short, I can’t say enough about Classic Travel’s services! As someone who loves to travel but needs to do so on a budget, I am so very grateful to have been referred to Classic Travel.

There is no great place to start…Classic Travel is amazing. Joy and her team assisted in planning the perfect destination proposal, at a group event none the less, followed by an amazing destination wedding and the honeymoon of our dreams. There was not a detail left to our concern, every transfer, hotel and other details were completed without us having to worry. When we arrived at our honeymoon destination we were in awe of the beautiful places that were suggested and ultimately chosen. There is no way we could have done this on our own, or been happier with how it was planned. On top of all this, after we left the wedding location my father fell and broke his hip. Joy and her team jumped to the forefront and got everything taken care of for my parents. This included multiple inter island transfers, airline changes, hotel and rental car issues. Not only was this a heroic effort, it was also over the New Years holiday when most would not have been working. We are forever indebted to Classic Travel for their service above and beyond what could ever be expected. There is no place else I would ever think of using for travel services!

Tom, Joy and their crew did a fantastic job assisting us with planning our wedding and honeymoon. We live in Michigan and were married in Kona, Hawaii. We had family and friends travel long distance for this perfect event. The travel was flawless. Unfortunately, we had a medical emergency with someone in our party after we had left for our honeymoon. Joy was instrumental in making sure everything was taken care of. She assisted from everything to taking care of air changes and the logistics of moving other family members around so they could attend to our injured. They purchased travel insurance and Joy is working with them on getting everything taken care of. Our honeymoon at the St. Regis, Bora Bora was more than wonderful. Classic Travel had all the transfers down to a science. All we had to do was show up and we were all set. Thanks to Classic Travel, we had a wonderful and unforgettable time. Booking through the internet would not have provided us with as many options or the personal service in times of need. They are amazing!!!

Do not waste your time or money with classic travel.The travel agent made a huge mistake and canceled my trip . I got to the airport with my husband and our toddler. The airlines informed us our tickets had been canceled. The travel agency blamed me !!. The president ,manager and travel agent did all they could do to cover there mistake. My husband lost two days of work and pay. We had to wake up at 5:30 a.m. and drive to DTW with a crying toddler to a canceled flight. It was horrifying. The travel agency said that it was my fault . DO NOT GO WITH THEM..very unprofessional. I will not be surprised if they go out of business. My agent was very slow ..I ended up planning my entire trip and contacting the hotel for my needs before he got around to it. This place is a huge waste of time.

For the past 15 years I have worked with Tom and Joy at Classic Travel to put together a trip for alumni with MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. I can not say enough about the hard work they put in to make sure we have the best trip ever. Anyone doing group travel, I would recommend Classic Travel hands down to any other agency. I have used them for personal travel as well and as I tell my friends, never would I travel without using an agent. They are there to help and that is what they do. When I was overwhelmed with all of my travel plans tor my honeymoon. I knew just who to turn to. Classic Travel has the best staff. They are all very knowledgable and helped me book my dream honeymoon. Not only is there service top notch but their knowledge on any destination and travel questions is second to none. I will always use Classic Travel for all of my travel plans. The 32 years of experience just shows that they know who to truly listen to the customer.

Now that my partner is disabled, I was very reluctant to travel, but her knowledge and attention to detail made the trip very smooth and hassle free. I wouldnt go through any other travel agency other than Classic Travel. They have over 32 years of experience and a well traveled staff. Their customer service has always been great and you can tell they take it seriously with all clients. When friends or family ask me my travel advice, I always refer them to Classic Travel.
