We got there early and were seated immediately. The rest of our party was coming a few minutes behind us and I explicitly expressed that to the person serving as host. Long story short, we were a 9 person party who they initially attempted to put at a 6 person table. I asked to be sat at the 10 person table, and he politely obliged. Then a woman came to our table and insisted that we needed to be put at a bigger table. We went back and forth a few times with me insisting that we would be fine at the 10 person table. Silly, really. We all got seated in the end. Our waiter was very nice, prompt and attentive. After we ordered, we started noticing the room filling with smoke. It got to the point where I was wondering if there was a fire somewhere. I would recommend above anything that they have their ventilation system evaluated and updated. THEN the power went out. This was completely out of the control of the restaurant and do not hold them accountable for it. The smoke was out of control. It was a very unpleasant experience. We were served our food about a minute after the power went out. My salad had slimy, limp lettuce mixed throughout it. The bleu cheese dressing was practically flavorless. I mean....blue cheese with no flavor? I didnt know there was such a thing. My husbands prime rib had a really funky taste to it. My pork chops were yummy. The fries were nothing special at all. My daughters chicken tenders were super yummy. We were able to eat a few bites of everything before the smoke got to the point that my asthma was acting up and everyones eyes were watering and burning. The staff were apologetic and very kind. They comped our entire meal which was very nice of them. All in all....I wasnt impressed. Theres potential there but a LOT of work to be done. I probably wont go back.

Disappointing meat quality for a steakhouse. This place has been around for at least 20 years, and "back in the day" this was one of those steakhouses that was a real treat to eat in and typically required at least a 30-45 minute wait. It slipped in the late 90s and all of the other locations went out except this one. It has been purchased a few years back by the same folks who run Marietta Diner. So we started going again as that team knows how to run a good restaurant. Theyve made tons of improvements to the facility, it looks great. Services is top notch and the food is good as long as you stay away from the steaks. Yeah, you heard me, a steakhouse where Im not recommending the steaks. I dont know what level of meat they source, but my taste buds are of the opinion its definitely not prime, and maybe not even choice. Now dont get me wrong, I dont expect a $50 steak for $20, but I do expect something a few notches above shoe leather. Order a steak in here and you better have yourself a good set of chompers, a sharp steak knife and a big ole bottle of A1. So why even go in at all? Well, I keep hoping for the day that they add some decent cuts on the menu for a slightly higher price. In the meantime, try the chicken and ribs. Youll get a half rack of tasty baby backs along with some classic hand cut hand breaded chicken tenders. Dont forget the obligatory slice of cake the size of your head for dessert. My tip for Cherokee Cattle Co? Go to Marietta Fish Market down the street a ways instead and have some seafood, and use CCC as your "plan b" if the wait at the fish market is too long.

I must voice my opinion about Cherokee Cattle Co. Tonight was my first visit. I went in excited because of so many in the area recommended it. I was sat promptly. But I have to say the booth I was sat in was so frigid I ask to be moved. As so I was moved to a different booth. I wasnt the only one freezing. The table beside me, two of the party, was standing in front of the fire. I ordered the a Ribeye. Which was suggested by so many. I received my side salad, I enjoyed it. However, again the temperature was so cold with air blowing on me I asked the server to adjust the thermostat. Im sure employees worming there are moving around and it may be warm to them. But to sit and be uncomfortable while you are trying to eat your meal is unacceptable. I received my steak and within in minutes it was cold. I wasnt impressed with the ribeye. The cut of the steak just wasnt good, it was rather tough and no flavor. I would say it was less than mediocre. For my bill to be $28 and I had to ask for a to-go box to eat it at home because the temperature was not bearable inside the restaurant. I am not sure I would go back. Im sure the temperature thing wasnt the only reason. In my opinion, when you pay 22+ for a steak you would think it would at least be tasty. I have eaten at the Marietta Diner and my food was delicious. I am just disappointed in my trip to Cherokee Cattle Co.

My wife and I first came here several years ago after a friend gave us a gift certificate, and it has become one of our favorites. The owner has several restaurants in the area, and theyre all great, but Cherokee Cattle is definitely our go-to. Theyre my number one choice for a quick business lunch because theyre EASY to get to and everyone likes them (I also really appreciate the friendly feel of the place - hard to put into words, but suffice it to say that I dont think Ive ever been in that I havent run into someone else that I know). Theyre also perfect for drinks after work...you dont have to talk over loud music, and the staff is super-friendly (they somehow manage to hit that sweet spot between bugging you to death and leaving you alone so you can talk). Dinner is always excellent, too, although we do that more infrequently since it means showing up with two kids in tow... All in all, while weve always enjoyed the place, I agree with some of the other posts that the recent change in management has really put them over the top. If I remember correctly, the new manager transferred in from one of the owners other restaurants, and its pretty clear why they brought him over...the food is still GREAT, and I dont think Ive been in since Mike started that I didnt leave talking about the amazing service.

Did you ever have one of those days? When everything worked out perfect. Today was that day and it was capped off by one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. It started when we walked in the door and the greeter met us with a smile. She was engaged and seemed glad to see us. From that point forward each and every employee was engaged and involved with our complete dining experience. We had the new KIK Ribeye, it was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. The marinade was amazing and the steak was cooked just right. Our Server was attentive but didnt hover. The first drink we ordered was not available but she came up with an alternative that was as good or better. Going out to dinner isnt just about the food, it is about the dining experience. I felt like I was in a mountain lodge on vacation, and my every need was met. I would recommend CCC to anyone looking for a great steak and a great experience. Remember I said that everyone was engaged, well it all started with leadership. We not only saw a manager, we saw 2 managers, and they where both great, we saw each of them more than one time. Somewhere there are leaders who trained these people, for that I thank you for you pursuit of excellence. My hat is off to the Cherokee Cattle Company. Well DONE.
