Curried Short Rib Poutine - Layers or both crunchy Fries and curry soaked Fries made for a great texture! The beef was completely shredded and soft. And the cheese was melted and chewy. This dish had great flavor and totally hit the spot! Creole Burger - I cant say I tasted any Creole seasoning or the flavor of bacon in the patty. However, it was probably the juiciest burger Ive ever tasted. Make sure to upgrade to Truffle Fries for just $1. You could actually taste the Truffle and they werent overly greasey! Also, they give you an aioli for dipping, but none of us were crazy for it. Thank goodness Mr. Y requested ketchup - theirs is house-made! Its a little chunky, a little sweet and very refreshing. Fried Chicken Sandwich - They give a chicken breast thats larger than the bun! It had a great Crunch and a slightly burnt flavor that was actually kinda nice. It comes with American, but luckily they were more than willing to let us swap Cheddar in. Also, the pickled veggies on top added the perfect bite to this dish! Other dishes ordered at out table were the fish and chips and the mussels. I didnt hear any complaints about either. It sounded like Ms. L particularly enjoyed the buttery broth the mussels came in. Service was fine...our waiter occasionally seemed annoyed or at least not excited to be helpful. But it was NYE, so I just felt guilty.

I read the reviews before going and it was great. To the guy who gave 2 stars do to the foundation sliding... Umm are u not from Cincy I think when they get done with the east end its gonna look amazing they are working hard on upgrading the area and I love it but I love the small cute bar and all the character it has. Now he also responded on 21$ for a tea and fish/chips... Mention going down to Elis for cheaper... Well your talking BBQ to fish, and Elis (no hate I love this place too) is also in a small home converted to keep the old town feel in a new up and coming neighborhood. Soooo with that let me get to the fish!!! AMAZING!!!! Its fresh and you can taste it. Big portion of 2 fish and fries, I couldnt stop eating it! Our wonderful waitress kept my tea filled and gave great recommendations off the menu... I still wanted the fish and chips to see what his complaint was about... I still am not sure. I have no problem paying 17$ for fresh big pieces of great beer battered cod! My waitress (I wish I could remember her name) let me try the gumbo... Soooo good I wouldve got some to take with me home for dinner but I was so full from the fish and chips Id figure Id make it my excuse to come back!! Great Place Fresh and portions are large (I scoped out all the other guest dishes as they came out.. Things looked good!) I will return!

We showed up as a group of four young adults, everyone is 23 years old and is fresh out of college with decent first jobs. Enough to afford to eat here before our concert at Riverbend. We didnt do much research to find it, we just knew we wanted a good burger and patio seating. Thats what we got, along with some serious attitude from our server and a dose of "what are you doing here?" looks. Food was great, everyone was wearing a button down and our girlfriends had on dresses. We should fit in. It all went down hill after someone tried to order a domestic beer instead of one of the 25ish craft beers they had on their whiteboard in the middle of the patio. Dont get me wrong, we all had one and they were good, but after that moment we were not taken seriously and it was made obvious. End all be all, the food was good. The atmosphere was cool, but the employees were, for a lack of a better word, rude. If youre a hipster looking for a drink or a older affluent couple looking for dinner, this is for you. If youre a young working class guy with his friends, you will not be taken seriously.

My wife and I dined here for the first time, Saturday April 12, 2014. We had a bottle of wine and cocktails in the bar. That experience was pleasant. But the food was less than what we expected. We ordered the "olive appetizer" and the "barbequed shrimp appetizer". Olives were excellent, but the barbequed shrimp were over-cooked and hard to chew. We took the rest of our meal home and consumed it at home. My wife had the "gumbo", and she was not impressed but she did eat it all. I had the "Decatur Street Muffaletta" with fries. The Muffaletta was very disappointing. My wife and I lived in New Orleans for years, and we expected the food to be similar to what we were accustomed to. I expected the shrimp to be some where close to the recipes of Pascal Manalle or Deanies. The olive salad was made from crushed olives made into a overly oily paste. The bread was wrong also. Our bill with tips was about $ 125. We will probably try them again, with lower expectations. Pappadeaux is a better New Orleans restaurant.

Unfortunately, we had terrible food while at Brewriver. My family and I came during burger week, and we were told promptly that the burger was only cooked one way (medium). This is fine (albeit strange--what if youre pregnant or unable to eat rare meat--they should compromise); however, the burger came out medium rare. When the waiter was told that the burger was way undercooked, he got super close to my burger (like face inches away from my plate) and said "Im color blind, so I cant tell, but it doesnt look undercooked to me." First of all, I would never recommend that a waiter get that close to someones food as it was awkward. Secondly, if youre color blind, then how can you comment on whether the burger is cooked appropriately or not. Third, the customer is always right, always. Business/customer service 101. The manager or owner should be aware that instead of resolving the issue, the staff offended the customer. We paid for our meal and tipped as appropriate, but we will not return.

After living in Nola for many years I can tell you this Hurricane is the best Ive had, even better than Pat Os! I even shed tears from it bringing back such great memories! I think what might set theirs above is perhaps a spiced rum instead of clear rum? Not sure, but its for sure amazing! The Sazerac, I worked at The Roosevelt Hotel. The ONLY thing that could make this better is if they used Sazerac Rye Whiskey instead of Bulliet. It was still amazing, dont get me wrong! Also, they have Abita Amber on tap, this is my go to beer when Im home sick, and to have it ON TAP? Im in love. On a different note, that fried chicken sammich? Shut. Up. That was downright amazing! That mix of lemon aioli, perfectly fried chicken and American cheese (I know....) with that amazing bun was simply out of this world! The only bad thing I can say about the place is that my knife was dull and it was difficult to cut my sammich. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I ate lunch here today with two friends. Its in an old building thats seen better days. The walls have amazing enlarged photos of the Ohio River with old paddle boats and other fascinating scenes about business and life on the river. I cant speak to the beer there because Im not a beer drinker. I had a simple order of fish and chips and one iced tea and my bill was for $21 plus change. I could have gone up the street to Elis BBQ and gotten a much better meal for much less money. Also, Im a college-trained geologist and the building this restaurant is in will soon be out on Riverside Drive. The entire hillside above is shoving the building off its foundation if you can even imagine that! The atmosphere may be what attracts you to this place. Thats fine. Just dont expect a bargain when it comes to food fare. But thats just one persons opinion.
