HORRIBLE. I had a terrible experience here. I was surprised to see so many good reviews. My service was very, very slow. I never received the drink I ordered and my waitress left in the middle of the meal. I was ignored by the other wait staff until I got up and went to them. (I was there on a Thursday afternoon - wasnt like they were slammed.) The croissants were okay, but not something that you cant find at any good bakery. They didnt have pain chocolate. Also, tried to charge me $8 to cut open a croissant and spread Nutella on it. (They wouldnt allow me to order the one off the kids menu for $4.) They also have big signs in all caps, splattered with exclamation points, about how you CANNOT use the bathroom unless you buy something. Geez. The only thing I give them kudos for is that the place is very clean. Other than that, it was a disaster. This was the first time I seriously considered walking out of a restaurant without paying.

Very much like Mary... My husband and I were down at the square on a bright sunny day, We were down there to meet up with some friends who own the restaurant "Blu", we walked around, listened to the music and spotted this place. It looked yummy. Thats about where it ends. We walked in, looked at the pastries in the case made our decisions, and waited. And waited....and waited....and waited..... and finally... waited some more. The wait staff passed by us more than 5 times and never even acknowledged us, not even a nod. ... we actually left the restaurant without ordering anything. Looking for a breakfast place this morning, and came across reviews for their creme brûlée french toast...we were all set to head out, till I realized what restaurant it was...if they cant get pastries out of a case..how can they possibly cook?

Great place with affordable prices. My quiche as a little "well done". It still tasted great though, with many flavors coming through. Salad was fresh and delicious, and portions were larger than I expected for the price. A very small and busy place (even on a Tuesday), which equals a little noise, tables very close together, curt service and the aforementioned food forgotten in the oven for a bit too long, but nothing you wouldnt expect from a popular spot. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch and would come here again for the excellent food.

Great place for brunch! I love eating here. The food is consistently good. The wait staff is always friendly and meet all of our needs. Even when they are very busy, you will never need something and wonder "uhh where is my server?" There is usually a short wait on the weekends, but this place is worth it! Also, this is a good choice on nice weather days, as they have outdoor seating overlooking the square. My only gripe is that the breakfast potatoes are super greasy.

Although the place was packed when we arrived the service was lacking. We were seated soon after but, we were forgot about for about 15 minutes. Eventually when we did order the food it came in a timely fashion however they had forgotten completely to get my sisters latte which they conveniently still left on the bill . As far as the food goes it was decent and thats all there is to say about that.

I agree with Meredith of Yelps review. Ive been to Sugar Cakes several times now, breakfast and lunch, and its always been good, not stelar but very good. I too was a little put off by their desserts meaning, theyre OK but I expected greatness and didnt get that. Also, the desserts are small, itty bitty small. Bigger isnt always better, but for the price, they should provide more.

This is, not, the all-you-can-eat-mega-bar at Walmart. This is an exquisite moment for those of us who have enjoyed our time living abroad. Its a perfect place for anyone that cherished an afternoon at a local cafe next door, or across the street in, France, or any other country with societies much older than ours.

Dont bring your children, it is not atmosphere to kids! Look like a romantic place, with your partner or friends! Have a common sense too. And sure, if is a busy hour you waiting a lit. bit! Remember, its not a place to order, quick and go... No! Is a "French" style, not a family place to the kids make noise and etc...

Waited 45 minutes for lunch on fathers day while many parties that arrived after us had already received their food. Was told ours was late because fries were burned but was corrected later by a manager that it was a ticketing problem. No apologies from the server. We left after paying for drinks and wont be returning.

This place has great sandwiches and salad. Their baked goods are decadent and hard to resist. We sat outside today, and it was very enjoyable. I had the Greek salad and turkey club duet, and my friend had the grilled cheese and house salad duet. Both were delicious and I especially loved the bread!

I cannot full express how fantastic the food is here. They have an abundance of delectable dishes and the presentation is great as well. I have had the pleasure of tasting their lunch and breakfast menus and all has been a pleasant experience.

Great food, great atmosphere, and nice waiters. Also reasonsbly priced menu. Sorry to see some reviews said they were slow... weve been coming here for several years and have only had a long wait one time when they were unusually busy.

The food here is excellent! They offer some classic French breakfast items, and their croissants are pretty delicious. Ive been here twice, and both times the service was lackluster, but it was also quite crowded and busy.

Dinner menu Seafood crepes, shrimp appetizer, trout almandine and crabcakes very good. Waffle fries heavenly and vegetables done perfectly. Not the best place for young children. Prices very reasonable for quality.

Just for the cookies... thats all we had here. Chocolate chip cookies have good density a bit on the sweet side but would return in a heart beat for a cookie. $2.11 with tax

Small and quiet place with great pastries and breakfast. Service can be slow at times, but all in all a good spot for some morning coffee and grub.
