I joined LA Fitness a couple of months ago and have visited a couple of the centers. Overall, I like all of the facilities but my major issue is with the staff at Snellville’s location. They need a refresher training at the very least in customer service. The horrible attitudes begin at the front desk. The staff who greet you seem to be annoyed that they actually have to do a job, greet the customers as they walk in, and check them in. I can go on about their unprofessionalism more but will get on to my major complaint. I knew that the sales people were a bunch of liars when I signed up for the gym but signed up anyway because like I said previously I liked the facility. The initial sales person (Dwayne) read the rates of the gym to me off rate sheet. I asked him if there were any government discounts. He said let me ask my manager (maybe Valerie?) not sure but from the sound of the previous complaints I think maybe so. She told me, yes there was a government discount and she would only give it to me because her husband worked for the same agency as me. Well funny enough the “discounted rate” she quoted was higher than the rate Dwayne quoted. I have 2 children so I also inquired about the daycare but was not ready at the time to sign them up. I asked if there was a second child discount to which she said there was not but she directed Dwayne to note that I could be locked in at a rate of $10.00 per child. When I was ready to sign the children up, not surprisingly this was another big lie. The $10.00 per child fee was only within the first 10 days that a person signs up. This was never explained to me so a choice was never available to me as to whether I wanted to sign them up at the $10 rate sooner or wait and sign them up at the $15 rate. Thank goodness for a positive customer service experience at the LA Fitness in Toco Hills who helped me sign my children up. I do not have any plans of returning to Snellville’s location anytime soon. It is a shame because it is located closest to where I live but lucky for me and other residents located near Snellville’s location who do not want to deal with the horrible staff, Stone Mountain has a relatively new facility that is also not too far from where I live. I attempted to call corporate office but could not locate an 800 number so I thought at the least I could express my discontent here.

Member for the past year. No way to contact regional management on the web site. SO I guess this is the best place too. The Pt staff is good. I have no staff issues. But the equipment is another story. The past month I have noticed that way to many tread mills are breaking down. This last time I could not tell the treadmill speed or the number of calories burned. The time before that the first two treadmills were not working correctly. You guys at La fit need a maintenance person who can fix these things or replace the treadmills. The mens locker room. yeah the owner of the gym needs to invest in an ultra large hepa filter because thats about the only thing thats going to get that stink out! Its probably all the stinky clothing people leave in lockers they keep locked up week to week as if to live out of the things. Its not your private clothes hamper. also while were on the mens locker room. damn wear a towel while walking down the hall to the sauna. We dont want to see your fat junk. <-- Insult My other complaint is one that might be addressed by La Fit having a dress code. Their is this one tall, skinny , OLD white guy who loves to wear political and controversial t- shirts. Every time I see him its a political slogan or the like. Now when I am at the gym its to work out. I know, who would ever want to do that. And I dont go so that I can think about the election or some political talking points, or whats crazy in politics this week. I want to concentrate on working out. I work out and day dream about elbowing the guy in the nose every time. :) The floors are dirty! That throw back vacuum you give the janitor is not cutting it. the 1960s called and want thier vacuum back. The last time I saw a Vacuum like that was at Grandmas house in the 1970s. Go do some push ups on the floor and look at your hands without vomiting. I dare you to eat with those hands and not wash up first. And lastly the music. lets keep the perky work out music with a beat and lose the slow songs or the down and dreary music. One day the songs were just one depressing song after another. Finally this song came on and the artist was questioning why they were here. And I asked myself the same and left! The end... thank god.

After calling corporate and thinking about everything, I decided I would put my concerns in writing. I was excited about joining L.A. Fitness. I got my second wind and took a friend to the gym only to be disappointed. Your facility needs a complete overhaul, enhancing the good employees. Valerie is the fitness manager. She is VERY RUDE and unprofessional. When she asked you something, she had something condescending to follow your answers. Valerie made it clear that they have policies and policies have to be followed. We was lectured in an unprofessional way from the beginning. After asking us what we do, she shared her father not paying for her college, but paid for her sister, who is an RN. She stated he paid for her sisters college but wasnt happy she did not go into nursing and "no offense, I make a whole lot more than my sister." We talked about the cost and that a previous experience left concern. She again began to tell us that people worry about how much it cost to be healthy, but after they get sick they come in and pay. She talked about her father and his situation along with other things.... we finally got a tour. The tour ended in the locker room. My friend looked at me and I looked at her. She asked me, "what just happened? " I told her I didnt know what that was all about, but I was exhausted and felt like we had just burned 1200 calories. We stayed for about 45 mins hoping she would leave. I am seriously thinking about going somewhere else. The extra money and a little more travel time would mean going away feeling good mentally. Worth it. What separates one company from another company -is impeccable customer service. February 2014

Facility here was great when it first opened. I was actually a member at this club before they built this location (they were over off of 78). So, I have been going a long time and have enjoyed being a member. But, the management here has continued to get worse and worse over the years. Machines go needing repair for weeks, there is a water fountain that hasnt been fixed in months. These are a sign of poor management......isnt getting water and being able to use all of the machines pretty important at a work out facility?? But, the above wouldnt stop me from going. What is going to stop my going is the fact that my car was broken into in the parking lot around a year ago. No cameras were installed after the incident (and to my knowledge there are still no cameras anywhere on the facility). Last week, my locked locker (along with around 6-8 other peoples) was broken into and my cell phone, wallet, and keys were stolen. I spoke to some of the other people who had been robbed and everyone got there around 5P and began their work out. So, at a peak time for numbers of people to be in the locker room area, NO ONE SAW PEOPLE KNOCKING OFF LOCKS AND BUSTING DOORS OPEN!! Seems likely they must have had a little help from people working at this location. Bottom line is I am forced to look elsewhere to work out.....when you cant lock up your valuables in your car because it might be broken into and you cant lock them up in the locker room, what do you do? They do have some lock boxes available but you cant count on one being available as they run out during peak times. Do yourself a favor and find another club.
