I knew I wouldnt be back before my hair was finished... First, I had been referred to this salon by a few different people and those people all pointed me to Rommel. I even protested to one of those "recommenders" and said I was through w/ Dominican salons because they are too harsh, use too my heat and my super thick hair is FLAT when I leave. They replied "oh, no! Rommel is good. Hes different." I figured Id give it a try. When I first walked in, I signed in and was given an info card to fill out (this is how the track the order the customer arrived, the services accumulated, etc.) I was escorted back to the wash bowl immediately. No issues w/ this part of the visit. My first issue was that the woman who washed my hair used a FINE-TOOTHED RAT TAIL COMB to detangle my natural, thick, coarse hair. And to top it off, she combed from root to end. My next issue was with the styling. Rommel began blowdrying my hair and was very rough. Ive had countless Dominican blowouts, so its not like Im a newbie to the experience. With him... the heat, the burning, was unbearable. I had to snatch my head away & raise my hand to my head a few times as a reflex to my scalp being burned. Thats never happened to me. Im not "tender-headed." At this point in the process, I definitely made up my mind that I would never come back and I also would swear off Dominican salons. Theres no way your hair can receive this kind of treatment weekly/bi-weekly & have any! (I then notice that no one in the shop has thick or longer hair... Hmmm... wonder why...) The worst part? Days after my visit, Im running my fingers along my scalp (which was sore for the day after the salon visit) and I feel SCABS. I knew I wasnt crazy, he WAS burning my scalp. Ive NEVER experienced that kind of pain w/ a blowout. One of the larger scabs fell off along with a SMALL CHUNK OF MY HAIR! I was so terrified. Going up to the shop with the hair in my hand to demand a refund -- $45 for a blowout, btw. Stay tuned for an update...

This was a terrible experience; Ill never go to this salon again. I went this evening around 5:30pm and initially requested a wash and style, nails, toes, and eyebrows. The nail technician that did my toes and eyebrows was nice, but the hairstylist was awful. My hair had previously been styled using foam and light gel, so it was not easy to comb. Instead of wetting and washing my hair before trying to comb through it (as any normal stylist would), the stylist put some conditioner on my hair with no water and tried to comb through it without washing out the foam and gel first. Needless to say, it was painful and I could feel her pulling out my hair. I politely asked her to wet and shampoo my hair before trying to comb through it, but she pretended not to know English. I asked another male stylist to translate for her, and he responded that she was trying to comb it because it was tangled. I explained that I had no problem with my hair being combed, but that the gel needed to be shampooed out first. The stylist continued to comb and so I told her for the third time to stop trying to comb my hair without shampooing it. This time she got an attitude and walked away, leaving me in the shampoo bowl, presumably for some other stylist to finish my hair. I was extremely angry at this point and actually got up to leave the salon (with my hair still dry but now matted and covered in conditioner), but the male stylist convinced me to stay and allow someone else to finish my hair. The second stylist shampooed my hair first was I requested, and then combed through it with no problems. However, while she was shampooing, a few of the stylist made jokes with eachother in Spanish at my expense, assuming that I did not know how to understand Spanish. And after all this, the cashier actually asked me if I wanted to tip!! Overall this was a terrible experience and I would not recommend anyone spending their money in this place. I certainly wont.

Ive only been here 3 times, once a year 2015, 2016, 2017 because of the amount of damage that is done. I always leave satisfied, but one thing I dont understand Is why do all Dominican salons rip your hair out with a comb? They all detangle from root to tip, which is agonizingly painful. I was taught from a young age to start from the Tip and work your way to the root its less painful and less breakage. But they start from the root and literally Rip through your hair. Then they say your hair is nappy... Of course combing all the tangles in one place then ripping through it will make it seem nappy and unmanageable.. And they do it at all their salons not just this one. That is my one and only issue. I do genuinely like this place its my favorite. I love the music and it was a great atmosphere and They are all nice and do a great job. I will continue to come here. I just wish the shampoo lady would come up with a new technique that doesnt require a comb ): I detangle my hair every week and I never ever struggle and there is not a lot of breakage.and I use a detangling brush, its not a special brush its just a regular old wig brush I havent used combs on my hair since I was 12 because of the damage they do. Combs are made for parting hair not detangling.

I went to this salon today and I am very pleased witht he results. I didnt readany reviews I just googled a nearby salon at it was the first one to pop up.I was in the middle of a hair crisis.I took my sew in out and proceded to wash my hair (this was my first time doing this myself) and when I attempted to comb my hair out it was soo tangled I went in a panic and my usual beautician wasnt available today. I went n as a walk in and the wait time was less than 10 minutes to get another shampoo..They saved my hair.I am very happpy I stopped there and this was my first time at a dominican salon.I have relaxed hair.VERY PLEASED!!!! The tangles I had couldve caused my hair to be cut out but she handled it perfectly.I will be returning.

They are EXTREMELY slow expensive and rude. Your hair does look and feel nice as an end result in the expense of its health and scabs to your burned scalp...proceed with caution!!! They advertise a $45 blowout (Little pricey but hey) then charged me $55 for barely shoulder length hair! How do you charge an extra $10 for length for hair that cannot make ponytail!

Excellent Service, I have been going to this Salon for over 3 years and I have never had a bad experience other than some rude customers who have no etiquette or self respect; other than that Rammel is a Master at his craft, my color is maintained healthy and style is on point!

I have been a customer over five years now, Ive always loved my experience from my shampoo service to the bouncy body style I always love with my natural hair. I can sit in any of the stylist chairs and leave satisfied every time!
