Went to see Ashley today for a womens cut, and my husband saw a talented man (owners son? Light hair younger man, we didnt catch a name sorry!) Ive decided to separate these experiences since the ratings are so different. Ashley did talk me into a "safer" cut then I was looking for originally... and it is a technical well done bob with little angle and almost no layering that does look decent with my face shape while straightened, but I am overall disappointed that it will take me months to grow my hair long enough to actually get another chance to get what I wanted. Its also MUCH shorter (about 3-4 inches) than what I asked for, both in the front and the back. It doesnt look horrible on me, but I know that once I wash out the straightening, I will hate it because its going to shrink another 2 inches, and be so short that it unwearable curly (round face life, Le sigh). I give it three stars because I believe Ashley has good technical skills, and wanted to give me a flattering cut, but she didnt look at my reference pictures and didnt listen to me as a client. I do believe she could tell I wasnt as excited for this safe cut as she was, and offered for me to return to add anything I think was missing, but she cannot add inches and redo the cut, so layers or a spruce up wont do much. My husbands experience was so very different, so I know we will be back, and again, I think my hair stylist is well trained and did give me a decent cut, but we werent on the same wave length and if I return I may not return to her/I will be much more firm about what I want and my reference pictures. This is a lesson in being firm with what you want and making sure you and the stylist are on the same page. I was a bit passive and that is my fault, so I will give the experience 3 stars; I docked 1 for pushing for a cut that was "safer" than what I wanted, and another for ignoring the fact that this isnt anywhere near the cuts or style of my reference pictures in any way. But I left stars because as I stated, the cut is correct in technique, well done overall, and I believe she did it out of what she thought was my best interest from the impressions I gave her. Husbands experience: 5 STARS! My husband got a fade with a medium top, and had his beard cleaned up. His cut is even, with some of the straightest neck lines Ive ever seen! He said his barber was friendly, pleasant, and effecient. His beard looks very handsome now, and he loves the whole look ^_^ Its exactly what he hoped for and will be returning for his barber.

Update: I received a call from the owner today and they are looking to right this bad experience that I had. I think that says A LOT about this place that they are willing to work to keep their customers. I am scheduled for a new haircut just as soon as my hair is grown out enough. Really looking forward to it. Thank you Simply Stylin for calling me to fix this. I would just delete my bad review but I want people to know that this place takes care of their customers. Okay, so I am really not one to write a bad review, but I am just shattered after my appointment today. I loveD this place when Hailey worked there, but she moved to Nevada. I even told my husband to start going here because the stylists were so good and hes gone for his last 3 or 4 cuts. Unfortunately, we will be taking our business elsewhere after today. First off, let me say that Im not sure what the heck happened today. I was scheduled an appointment with Joanna and although I didnt know her, my husband said she was good so I kept in and had high hopes. I went in asking for a messy (well textured) bob in the back with more of a relaxed A-line toward the front. I came out a MESS. Even my husband said I should get my money back! I asked her to leave the natural hairline with the "tail" in the back when she took it shorter and she just snipped it right off. The back of my hair is not even straight - it is shortest in the middle of my neck and then gets a little longer toward the sides and then gets shorter again. It is awful. I am so bummed out. I told her that I didnt like it AT ALL while still trying to be nice and respectful, but I really just wanted to start crying. She told me I could come back if I couldnt fix it by styling it at home, but to be honest, I dont want her to ever touch my head again. There has only been one other cut in my life (Im 27) that I have been this upset about. Im usually pretty laid back about my hair and as long it looks good and professionally done, then I can handle whatever happens. Im not sure if this girl was just having a bad day or what, but she butchered my hair. Im sorry I have to even write this because she was nice enough, but I feel like I need to warn anybody that wants a short cut - do not go to Joanna as I dont think she is comfortable doing them. I dont have a lot of money and getting my hair cut is a real treat for me, but this time turned out to a major letdown.

"Simply Fabulous" is what this salon should be called and Ill tell you why! First, its very easy to get to. Right smack dab in the middle of Caldwell, you take the Blvd. to a right on Kimball and the salon is a few doors down on the left. There is plenty of parking also. The shop physically is well set up and just beautiful. The smiles and happy atmosphere when you walk in is real. There are all kinds of products for sale; handbags, bracelets, cremes and hair&tanning products. They are tastefully laid out and not crowding you at all. Everything was clean, organized and there was just an easy flow. And now to our stylist COURTNEY!!! Thank you, Heaven. It was my daughters Sweet Sixteen and I took her for a brand new hair style, eyebrow waxing and manicure. We brought a friend also. Courtney was professional and knowledgeable but had a great sense of humor, a zest for life and most importantly to my daughter, she was hip. To celebrate Katies b-day, Courtney had balloons, choc. cake and virgin mimosas served in wine glasses. We all toasted and laughed and had our pictures taken. What an amazing day. All of you at Simply Stylin helped us make a terrific memory!! Thanks to Jean and Joanna also. Maybe the shop should be called "SIMPLY SMILIN"!!! Sincerely, Rhea and Katie Safford, Caldwell

I went to get eyelash extensions here, I went home knowing something was wrong, they were very uncomfortable and painful. They looked tangled and uneven, there were individual eyelashes sticking out everywhere that were wayyy longer then the rest. Some of them were falling and crooked. I decided I just wanted to take them off, so I went to a salon in nampa to remove them, it took an hour and a half because the guy that put them on had glued them to my lash line and skin and there were clumps of glue everywhere, it was very painful and my eyes were swollen and red and my lashes were very short after removing them because they would not come off no matter what we did. Finally they are off and I DO NOT recommend going here for eye lash extensions, they gave me false information and told me the lashes were mink, they were not, they were plastic, synthetic, fake looking lashes that were not pretty. Even worse when I called the salon to tell them what had happened, the lady that answered was very rude and seemed to not care, she acted as if I was making it up and she had no idea what I was talking about. This was not a good experience, I was very disappointed ☹️ I was excited to have extensions and its just to bad it happened like this.
