At first I was really impressed with this place. It was clean and the lady that checked me in was nice. My family was leaving for Mexico the next day plus we were moving so things were a little hectic to say the least. The next month I received an email saying that my payment was late and that there was an additional $34 fee. I called, thinking that there was a misunderstanding since I thought I had signed up for auto pay. I always sign up for auto pay, plus we were going to be out of the country for a few months so I honestly thought I had. I called and they said that I had not signed up for auto pay. I apologized and told them I thought that I had. The manager reviewed the tapes and claimed that I "shook my head no" when it came to the auto pay question. They also said that I did seem distracted trying to entertain my 11 month old son who was with me while signing up. I asked if they could possibly waive the fee since I was only 7 days late and I had misunderstood, as I honestly thought I had signed up for auto pay. They said absolutely not. They have lost my business for next summer when we use a storage unit. They are rude and not understanding at all. I hope the $34 was worth losing my business and referrals over, but to be honest they didnt seem to care. Although the place seems clean I would highly recommend going elsewhere. I hope my review saves someone from having to go though this as well. I will be immediately getting our truck out of storage from here as soon as we return. I wish I could get it out sooner.

If I could give this company less than one star I would. They are over priced for what you get. Late fees are behind fair and the manager, Joyce, is rude and condescending. If your life gets in the way of their business practice, you will pay dearly for it. I had to move out, was expecting a prorated for the month. Nope, have to pay a full month for something I will not be using. When I questioned the policies, she couldnt explain anything and just gave, "well I" answers. Please research before deciding to rent storage here. I found a great place in Crystal lake thats brand new and, they had a truck that we used with no extra charge! And the monthly rent is saving me over $30 a month!

I didnt know it would be so easy and painless to rent a storage unit. Both Joyce and Mark were great people to deal with and they made it quick and efficient to get a storage unit! The facility is very clean and safe with, what I believe to be, a good security protocol. They offer pull carts, temperature controlled facilities, a heated garage to pull your car into to unload and freight elevators for easy transportation of possessions.The hours are convenient to come and go and it is very easy to reach the facility when help is needed. We could not be happier with our choice to choose Life Storage!

My initial customer service experience at the Rogers Park LifeStorage has been great. (Ill come back with more feedback when Ive been a customer longer . . .) As I tried to figure out how much space I might need, Marcus patiently described all my options and showed me sample storage sizes. After setting up my account, he walked me (literally) through the process of gaining access to the building and to my unit. He also told me when the loading dock would be more/less busy so that I could plan my move-in day accordingly. Plus--- hes a personable guy! Outstanding.

Not knowing exactly what to expect, but having heard a few stories about how bad it might be, I was totally overwhelmed by the kind, patient gentleman who on the phone walked me through the process and seemed happy to answer all of my many questions. We were not disappointed when we showed up in person. Takeshe Thompson was friendly, warm, energetic and efficient. She went out of her way to be helpful and make recommendations about the space we would need. Thank you for opening up Life Storage in the West Loop!!

This location is amazing. The property manager Joyce is wonderful and very attentive. She made our move in process so easy and trouble free--and I really needed it after a stressful move! The indoor facilities are so secure, well lit and very clearly well taken care of. The drive-in garages make unloading so easy. And did I mention the awesome staff and management? Let me do so one more time, they are fantastic. My parents also use this location in Algonquin and they love it as well.

Ive used various storage units and in various states. I just started at Life Storage and was very impressed with the facilities (clean, well lit, easy access, available vehicle for moving, etc...) but ALSO with the assistance I received. Specifically the store manager, Joyce, was super pleasant, helpful, explained all details thoroughly. I even noticed, when I dove up that she was busy cleaning and caring for the facilities. Looking forward to a continued great experience...

I was very impressed by the efficient rental process and the clean office space. Tim was very organized and knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He went over the costs and paper work to make it as easy as it could be. He took me to the space to inspect it prior to the rental.. The space was clean and ready to move in.. So if you are in need of a rental space this is the place to come.. At times they have special deals that can save you some money on your rental.

Very smooth experience to find the right storage unit and get signed-up. Joyce was extremely helpful, polite, and friendly. Definitely the best experience starting a rental storage unit that Ive ever had. The facility is quite clean, well lit, and very secure. Its another big plus that its so close and easily accessible from my home. Id recommend this facility to anyone looking for storage. Be sure to ask for Joyce, shes great!

it was our first time using a unit, the building was well lit, had climate control so in the heat of summer its kept nice and cool and in winter kept warm. we were worried about theft but found out that there has yet to be a theft in the history of this perticular building, with security camras everywhere we felt safe putting out belongings in storage, the ladies were great answered every question. would totaly recommend life storage

We are putting our home on the market and was anxious about finding storage. It was easy to sign up and the facility is clean. It was easy to access our storage unit, and it was a good price. The only problem we had is they did not have the storage unit size we wanted, but he let us know other options at the Carpentersville location. We ended up with a smaller size and worked out fine.

We stored our entire household here for about 7 months during an icy winter. The heated drive-in garage is great and made moving things in and out easy and warm. The staff is great - always helpful and happy to see you. The facility is clean and well run. We just rented another unit for some storage needs and didnt think twice about returning.
