I would not recommend storing at this facility. I reserved a 5X10 unit, arrived on site and paid my lock and first month storage fees. When I arrived to my unit, I was surprised to have a 8.5 (wide) x 3 unit. It was essentially a glorified closet. I went back to their main office to see if they had anything bigger (perhaps a true 5X10 unit!), but they did not have anything else available. I requested a refund and found another storage facility near by. A week goes by and I still had not received a refund so I called their office to verify that the refund took place and they confirmed that it did and reinforced that it might take a few days longer to process. Another week goes by and it still did not go through so I requested a receipt for the refund transaction. It was then verified that the refund was never processed in the first place. I received a partial refund and was told that my reservation fee was non-refundable (what a joke!). I do not anticipate this business being open under this management much longer. I realize this may be the only place in Huntley, but I would recommend taking your business to Life Storage in Algonquin. They are professional and I had a much better overall experience!

Ive been renting there for about 3 years. I have a parking spot and a storage locker. My rates have gone up at least twice since Ive been there citing the same lame reasons for it. Ive suggested installing parabolic mirrors to enhance visibility, but to no avail. I once got locked inside and had to jump the fence to use the other keypad. Recently I was denied access on a Sunday night and the key pad told me I need to see the manager but no one is there to help you (which is understandable being what time it was). However, I need 24 hour access of my tools. I called and left my name and number and explained the problem, but never got a return call. It seems they dont care about small business owners that cant do their jobs because their gate isnt working. If I had a viable alternative (proximity and parking) I wouldve left a long time ago.

Been at this storage facility for over sixteen years. In the past 4-5 to five years my rate has been increased dramatically at least every year if not more often, so that I now pay substantially more (over $100/month) without any reason or obvious improvement to justify it--other than they can. Current manager needs to learn a bit about customer respect. Business may be good now but when the economy turns, the loyal customers wont be there to bail them out. There are probably better choices out there for the price. Never met the manager in person--office hours are pretty limited. The other employees have always been helpful and nice. Sad, I like supporting local businesses.

Helpful, convenient, and nice to have U-Haul there for moving, not to mention packaging. Their staff has always been accommodating and Im happy to have a sizable unit for all of my stuff.
