I reserved a truck for pick up on a sunday for a 5 day rental, when I drove the 2 hours to the destination,(they were the only ones in the state that had pick up trucks) they had my reservation for a monday pick up and for 1 day, after rerenting the truck I had to drive 2 hours back to the destination of the move an pick up a pull behind trailer, at which time it was discovered that the hitch had a lock bar in it and could not be removed, so I had to rent another kind of truck (that I did not want) and leave that one there..after the 5 days of moving I returned the truck to uhaul in Jackson and picked up the original truck and drove it 2 hours back to its original destination, at which time I was argued with about not returning it sooner, (I did not have time to do this becouse of time restraints and the distance of the move) and the guy at the jackson store said he would call them and let them know..he did not.. and at the time of renting the truck in jackson, the guy said he would rent me the new truck for a lower price if I would pay him in cash and he would keep that for himself if I would do it..I got him fired... when the truck was returned to Gulfprot they argued with me about the situation and said she would not charge me for the mix up and rental, then a week later the charges showed up on my card..what a great place uhaul is...LOL....I will NEVER use them again and would NEVER recommend them to ANYONE...a bunch of rip off artist... and this is not the first time this kind of thing has happened with them for me... USE BUDGET OR PENSKI..

Ive had many good experiences over the years. Yesterday (Saturday), however, I called to advise I would be returning a trailer close to closing time (7pm). I was told that, if I arrived too close to 7, they may not unlock the door because they would not have time to check me in, but that, if I arrived not later than 6:45, I "should be all right." Apparently, they effectively close 10-15 minutes early, as the mood strikes them. I am considerate of others time, but I was rushing to finish up a long haul. I called ahead out of courtesy to advise that I would be cutting it close but did not think I could get there sooner. Neither did I wish to secure the trailer until I could take time off from work on Monday to return it. Through great effort, including having to call upon someone else to finish my work so I could dump contents and leave in time to return the trailer by 6:45, I made it. The young crew of workers were anything but courteous. One of them pointed to an area into where I backed the trailer and unhitched on my own while my companion went inside to complete the transaction. Another worker with a disaffected air came out to the trailer and recorded information without so much as acknowledging my presence. When my companion returned, he remarked, "There sure are some unhappy people in the world," referring to the staff he encountered. I rate at three stars (I would rate 3.5, if I could) because of past good experiences. Yesterday was a 1.5.

The owner apparently does not know his employees. I was told one thing and charged another. I was maliciously charged fees for whatever they could think of. I was rented the truck with an 1/8 tank of gas and returned it with just over a tank. However, I was charged for gas, $110. And even though I cleaned the truck before I returned it, I was also charged a cleaning fee of $43. And for some reason I was also charged $330 for a one day rental, after I had already paid $100 cash the day of the rental. My total ended of being $532 for a one day rental. They did subtract the $100 that I paid in cash which brought the total $432. I tried to dispute it with the owner who said he would call me back but never did and wouldnt answer my calls. I later received an invoice stating that I have a balance due of $462, which means they somehow added another $30. Bottom line, these people are a bunch of rip-offs and I wouldnt recommend them to any of my military, business or family members. And by the way the owner, Dick, said he didnt know who the female was that rented me the truck. How could you not know your employees, she was the only one working inside that day and there was a male working outside who happened to be inside at the time.

They made me pay for an extra day of rental that was offered to me for free. I didnt ask for the day to be given for free, it was simply offered. The clerk there named Erica was not helpful at all in helping me resolve the issue. She basically said it wasnt her fault and I shouldnt give them a bad review. I told her someone had to get a negative review for thia and since this is the number I called for a days extension, I have to place the review on this place particularly. She said after the phone rings 3 times it gets directed somewhere else and in order to resolve the issue, I must call 1800GOUHAUL, well, i did that and the problem still isnt resolved. Oh well, its just $40 but in principal, it is still aggravating. I received a call from this store, but, if Erica is right, every time I try to call it rings more than 3 times and I will get redirected to another place. Maybe the manager shouldve given his direct number when he left a message on my voicemail. I work on a boat 2 weeks on and 1 week off, so, I havent been able to go back in person and I havent been contacted again.

There is no continuity of employees, you may call with an issue one time and 10 minutes later you have to re-explain everything. Had an issue with my trailer lights, they did not work. Worst part of all the mechanic on duty let me leave the yard with no working lights on the trailer. Several times I called the, after to schedule an appointment with the mechanic to have the lights looked at and was told by someone on the front desk that he would call me back. Long story short I went somewhere else. On a different note I have walked in the store before and waited around for 10 minutes with no one even coming to the desk to assist me. I was alone in the store. The only reason they dont get 0 stars is because its not an option

My husband and i Went here yesterday after i got off work around 4:30 to get a storage unit and reserve a truck for our move this week. When we came in one sales associate was with a customer the other was on her cell phone and finally acknowledged us. When i asked abiut hetting a storage unit i was rudely cut off before i finished talking and told that they were closing at 5 and she cant serve us because ahe needed to close her cash box. I wasnt paying cash and in all my years of customer service if you are open till 5 then u take cuatomers untill 5 no matter what. So i will never go here again and will take my money to another storage and truck rental place
