I am not sure who the "Sweety pie" is that gave Shining Stars a 1 star review, but I would strongly suggest he/she consider reevaluating their priorities. First of all, a child care facility should not be judged by the COST of their care but on the quality of care provided. Also the allegations of Shining Stars being expensive and in any way greedy could not be further from the truth. My wife and I shopped around for childcare when we first enrolled them almost two and a half years ago and found them to be the most reasonably priced. As a parent I can not put a price on knowing my children are safe when they are away from me, I have complete confidence that Shining Stars is caring for my children as if they are their own. Once we stared bringing our children here we were hooked! We have brought our kids to other childcare centers when we lived in Texas and in northern Wisconsin, neither of those centers were even close to our experience at Shining Stars. The teachers genuinely care about every child there and make them all feel so welcome that they look forward to going there everyday! The facility is always clean and the staff makes sure to keep the children as germ free as they can by having them wash their hands and cover their coughs and sneezes. We started bringing my son there at an early age and the teachers there have literally raised him alongside us. Our daughter has become such a great little person with the education and life skill development the staff there provides. To further emphasize our satisfaction in this facility I must mention that my wife works in Lake Zurich and I work in Long Grove, we both commute almost an hour each way with traffic. Since we are currently home renters, we recently had the opportunity to look for a new house to rent and decided to stay in the Lake in the Hills/Algonquin area instead of moving closer to work. Our honest to god motivation to stay around here was the amazing experience Shining Stars provides our family. We both made the decision to keep commuting every day so we can continue the experience of a child care facility like this because we know there is no other place like Shining Stars. Anyone considering them for their childcare needs will not be disappointed in the experience provided by their warm hearted compassionate staff.

Highly recommended here by the parent of a current Shining Stars student. I enrolled my son at 3 years old, shortly after my nannys health went downhill and I had to find an urgent replacement for child care. Finding a replacement I thought would be one of the hardest decisions I would have to make as my son had never been in this type of setting nor around strangers. When I came to see the daycare center for the first time, I was welcomed by a very friendly woman, Ms. Margaret , who made me feel very comfortable, she gave me a brief tour of the center and answered all my questions. I walked out of there quite pleased. Mind you, this was the last of 3 other centers I visited that week. When I walked out of there, I knew this was it. I called back and set up a date to enroll my son, the second time I met with Ms. Maggie, who would be my sons teacher. Her friendly and well mannered approach made me feel even more confident of my decision. The first 2 weeks were very hard, my little one was scared and would at times cry during drop off. I would walk out of there in tears the first couple days but Ms. Maggie kept in touch and assured me it would all be alright, she would even send me pictures of how my son was doing just fine shortly after I would leave. Sure enough, by the second week he would look forward to being with his new friends and would wave goodbye with a smile on my way out. During these last two years my son has learned so much, he learned to interact with other kids, the curriculum the center has designed is great! The kids are involved in all sorts of fun activities every day, fun field trips and enjoy creative themes during the summer. My son is now 5 years old and headed to Kindergarten. My experience with the teachers and staff has been wonderful, I am very grateful for them, all such fun, friendly and caring people. Sadly my son will be attending a school in a different school district, but he will continue to come on days that there is no school. I have made arrangements at work and will go out of my way to do this on those days but I do not mind it one bit, theres no other place I rather for him to be!!

Shining Stars is an excellent childcare center with a great preschool program and the owners and staff are 100% invested in the development and well-being of all the kids there. I highly recommend Shining Stars to anyone looking for child care. Our son has attended Shining Stars for almost 3 years and he showed tremendous growth. He is starting kindergarten this fall and is more than ready. He writes well, is reading at a beginner level and has great social skills with children and adults. Shining Stars played a big role in his progress. When he started, like most parents, we were nervous about his starting a new school but Miss Maggie and Miss Michelle would send photos showing us how much fun he was having daily. The curriculum there is more than what you could ask for. We explored other facilities that didnt have any curriculum and were very turned off by them. At Shining Stars, the kids plant and grow a garden together, are always working on letter themed art projects, they take summer field trips, have a science room (my son loved this room), the teachers interact with the kids inside and outside. Its always comforting to hear the teachers were playing Wood Chip Monster or baseball with the kids. On top of that, the kids put on a yearly holiday play, the families are all invited to build ginger bread houses together, there is a summer cookout and a graduation ceremony. Im sure Ive forgotten many things but there is so much to list. Its a very hands on center and we will miss it very much.

I can strongly recommend that place to any busy parent. Great hours, all day long surveillance, safe entry with key fobs, daily activity reports and great communication with school staff. Both I and my husband work full time. Every day I drop of my doughter with smile on her face and excitement that she will spent there her whole day!! The amount of activities and organization during the day is perfect!! Kids have great routine followed with amazing educational program. My 3 year old loves this place! Every day she brings beautiful crafts, tells me about new activities everything captured on photos sent to me by her teacher!! Maya is happy every day coming in and out, she amazes us how much she learn in her group and how well behaved she became since she started last year. But aside from all education that she gets I know she is safe and surrounded by loving and caring teachers. I didnt hesitate any minute to sent my oldest to summer camp and "no school" program and he also loved it!! There is no words that can express my gratitude for all shining stars team
