ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had been chasing down nice rental duplexes in this one neighborhood, the one Im currently living in (Significant other and I of 8 year relationship separated) so I found this place online through the Base Housing Authority (Scott Air Force Base) that Strano has listed everywhere online too. Where I live now is reasonably priced, meticulously well maintained, I do not have to mow the grass (its a duplex), we chose our paint colors upon move-in for all walls and the front door, we have a humongous deck, an enclosed garage with electric door opener, problems are addressed immediately, and its much newer than this place Strano has listed but Stranos listing is $50 a month MORE for WAY less amenities (have to mow, old appliances, no deck or patio, no landscaping, no garage, etc.) and a less than desirable interior but I have to move somewhere and the neighborhood is my highest priority so. . . After being approved for the property after the application process, I called this morning to negotiate the price and also said that I have a new dishwasher that I am willing to leave at the home for the owner to KEEP since that one is probably 30 years old and most-likely does not run because its all rusty and old. I also asked about whether they will paint, as the walls are in rough shape and have bad patch jobs especially in the bathroom (which is carpeted, yuck!). . . So they said they would call the owner then call me back. I got a voicemail from the property management group stating "We are VERY confident that they can get this price for the property, as they have been getting this price in the past" and they wanted me to call back if Im still interested or else they will continue to list the property. So I called them back to talk about it. I said "Well thats fine about the price. I guess Im just getting a REALLY GOOD DEAL where I am at and I dont even mow my own lawn and I could go on and on about how much nicer and newer it is." She said "uh huh" So I said "Well what did the owner say about the dishwasher?" She said "Uhhh well the owner states that if when you move it and it is not functional it will be replaced at the owners expense and he does not expect you to replace it at all." I said "Okay what about my other concerns I addressed?" She said "What other concerns?" I said "Was the owner actually even contacted because it doesnt sound like it." She said "Well yes he was and what were your other concerns?" I said "Well the paint...? I told Amanda about this, the person I have been speaking to...?" She said "Well its standard that we will do a walk through upon your move-in and if WE think that it needs re-painted then we will have it re-painted but thats completely up to the owner." I said "Right, thats why I asked about it this morning before you called the owner..." and she said "Well this is all standard..." So I said "Well I guess youre not leaving me with a choice. I guess Im paying the full price and the paint and the dishwasher doesnt matter so Ill see you Monday to sign a lease. I can be there at 11:45 if that works for you" She said "Great well see you Monday at 11:45 then." Im still debating but based on many, many, many reviews websites, knowing that this is going to be a horrible experience, especially since they steal your deposit NO MATTER WHAT from what others are saying. Illinois state law states repairs that are "normal wear and tear" that the tenant cannot be charged for include patched walls, cleaning carpets (except for stains), blind replacement, normal wear and tear on appliances and all portions of the home, etc. etc. I asked the property management how they deal with these items and they stated that they charge the previous tenant for it but do not tell the owner or charge the owner so they pocket that money. Do your research! If you are NOT that picky about neighborhood, DO NOT rent from Strano rentals. They are known to lie and steal from both the home owners AND the tenants!

They deserve far less than I star. I am a homeowner and rented my property through them. They neglected to report back to me that there was an additional pet living on the property, the tenants had caused much damage and their pets ruined the carpet with pet urine and feces. I only found this out after I had to make a 10 hour drive to repair the garage door the tenants damaged. Strano sent me an estimate for a door that was almost double the cost of the same door that was installed by Overhead Door. Renee Wittenauer tried to say the door was not installed in a timely manner. For the involvement of Overhead Door, it was. The delay was caused because I had to find time to take off work and travel down there since Strano failed to do their job and replace the door at a reasonable price. I can understand a slight increase but not double for the same product or service. I have read other reviews on here and Yelp that suggest Strano is getting a kickback. This would not surprise me at all as they are horrible, unethical people. When they notified my tenants that I was terminating the lease, Cody Palermo, the tenant was apparently belligerent and hostile and threatened that if anyone came into the property, his dogs would attack them (including the dog that was just "visiting" but by looks at the pictures on Cody and Erica Palermos Facebook pages, that dog has been "visiting" for years). I addressed my concern with Linda Linder from Strano Property Management over the phone that the tenants were going to cause further damage to my property as a result of Codys violent ways and was pretty much told there was nothing I could do. The result when the property was returned to me, over 50k in damage and the entire inside (walls, ceilings, cabinets, floors, insulation, etc.) will have to be redone. This could have been avoided if Strano wouldve only checked in on the property. They neglected to do this and water from a busted pipe sat in the property for 2 weeks! One last thing, I still have not received the tenants security deposit, pet deposit and other fees charged to the tenant whos lease ended in February. And after all this damage was caused by the tenants, Renee actually gave them permission to go back into my house get the few items they left! She let them do this unsupervised 4 days after the lease expired despite the damage they had done! Oh, and Strano Property Management still has not collected the keys or garage door openers from the tenants. Every time I ask Renee about this I get the response "the tenants left them in the house" yet she is too lazy to physically go to the house to retrieve these important items and mail them to me. Bottom line, STAY AWAY if you are a homeowner! Do not trust your property to the care of Strano Property Management!

I wish I could give this company a negative 10 Stars! Strano is the Worst!!! Property Management around. They will always try to find some way to keep your deposit. I rented a house from them about a year ago and when I moved out, they charged me $70 dollors to re-clean the blinds that I had to buy in the first place because they didnt have any when I moved in. They also require you to have the carpets cleaned when you move out, which I did, but they still ended up keeping most of my deposit because they said the carpets werent clean enough. When I first moved into the house, the lawn hadnt been mowed in what looked like a few weeks and the day after I moved in, I got a notice from the city of belleville that if the grass wasnt mowed in the next day or so, they were going to come out an charge me 50 dollars to mow it. I called Strano because I didnt have a lawn mower yet, and they pretty much told me it wasnt their problem. They are crooks and liars, plain and simple because they know that any excuse they make will hold up after the fact as there is nothing you can do about it at that point. I dont even know why they bother to do a final walkthrough because the inspector can say it looks perfect, like he did on mine, and they will still come back like 3 weeks later saying all this stuff is wrong. If you dont believe me, just look at the other reviews. If the majority of reviews on a place is bad, there is going to be some truth to that. All I have to say is F*** you Strano.
