Do not go to this garage, especially if you are a woman. I would give this place negative stars if that was an option. They seem polite and kind at first, but its all an act to make you trust them enough to accept the bullshit lies about whats wrong with your car. I brought my car to get a diagnosis on a rough idle. The manager stood there with a concerned look on his face as I described the intermittent idle problem and assured me theyd do their best to fix it for me. Two hours later the manager calls back and tells me that I need to replace the upper and lower intake gaskets along with the spark plug wires for a total of $1300. This is after the so-called student discount on parts. When I voiced my disapproval of this price, the manager then tried to sell me a line of credit to pay for the costs. It sounded like a scam so I took my car to a nearby dealers service department, and they diagnosed a completely different problem within a few minutes (the air intake sensor needed replacing) for a total of $250 for parts and labor. Thats a difference of $1050! Theres no way that an experienced mechanic would accidentally misdiagnose the car that badly considering all he needed to do attach a reader to the cars computer to get the code. They misdiagnosed it on purpose to try to scam me because Im a young female and they assumed I didnt know what to do.

So, I call this place and ask to have new brakes/rotors, oil change, and want them to install new tires on my vehicle and I already have the tires because I got a good deal from Discount Tire Direct online. I have purchased several sets of tires from them and I have a credit card with them that makes it convenient. I typically take them down to a REAL tire store down in Clinton, IL and they have always installed them, no questions asked...they are a TIRE store, after all. This time, however, because I needed brakes/rotors and oil change at the same time, I figured Id give these guys a chance. Pro Tire and Automotive tells me that they wont install customer supplied "parts" due to warranty issues. Warranty issues? I bought the tires from somewhere else, so why would I come back to Pro Tire for warranty issues? Sure, if they didnt balance them correctly or something, thats on them, but the tire warranty is the responsibility of either Discount Tire or Goodyear. Not only did this place just lose a good amount of business on this vehicle, they also lost a customer who just used them last month to install new brakes and rotors on my wifes Suburban ... our family has SEVEN vehicles...too bad for Pro Tire and Automotive...will be taking them someplace else when we need work done.

I gotta say Pro Tire just saved me roughly $800. Against my better judgement I took my car to Sears for an alignment adj on Saturday (they were the only place that could get me in at the time). Sears told me I needed new front ball joints, new sway bar links, and a coolant flush for a total of roughly $900. I took my car to Pro Tire (to get a second opinion) and had them check all of those things, and they said I only need new sway bar links (they were broken), and an alignment. So for $120 Im cruising down the road fixed and happy. They were honest and could have taken advantage of me, but didnt just lie and say that I needed those items fixed, but instead honestly assessed my car and only fixed what was needed. screw sears!

I am a mechanically sound person so most auto repairs I complete myself on my 99.5 Audi A4 1.8TQM. Whenever I do repair price checks, Pro Tire always seems to beat the competition and since I have used them for about 5 years now, I have never had any problems with their repairs. The staff is very professional and polite. I recommend Pro Tire service to all my friends. Sometime if parts are minimal or service is quick...Ive walked out without needing to pay a dime!

Really cant say enough about the service I received from Steve, Forrest, and his team. Steve made sure I was satisfied with the job and did everything to make the service situation right. Although it was likely frustrating issue for his shop he listened and tackled problem with positive attitude. After leaving Steve would tell me to let him know if issue was resolved and if not we would get it right. Will be taking family cars to him from this point forward.

These guys are great! I had a noise from my brakes and also asked them to price replacement of bushings in my front end. The brake noise was just dust so they cleaned the drum. Even though the bushings had some dry rot they said the front end was tight and did not need any work. Another local well known automotive mechanic had quoted $600 to replace the bushings. Pro Tire did not charge me a cent for the brake and front end inspection.

My wife brought my car in for an oil change and I was surprised at how inexpensive my fully synthetic oil change was when I got back from my trip. When I called thinking there was a mistake and they used conventional oil, Steve said, "oh no, I just have had a lot that I bought cheap and just passed the savings on". You will not find that at any dealer or other shop! Amazing, they are great and super nice to my wife. That means a lot.

Pro tire is a very trustworthy auto shop. I went there several years ago when I was new to town, based on online reviews. The guys are courteous and upfront about everything. Never tried to sell me stuff I didnt need. I took both cars to them, bought tires from them and even got their advice when selling one of my cars. Unfortunately I no longer use them as I have moved, but I would recommend them to anybody!

I recently bought a car through Chevy City and they have the 3 month warrantees on their vehicles, well they wanted to charge me $50.00 just to look at my car. I took my car straight to Steve and they found that a little rubber piece fell off my muffler. What did they do? They fixed it for LESS than $50.00! My family has been going to Steve for roughly 20 years, and that definitely is not going to change.

Finding a good mechanic you can trust can be difficult. When Pro Tire was recommended to me by _several_ people I decided to take my car to them. Since then I have continued to bring all my vehicles to them. Their service is excellent and their service friendly and professional. I *highly* recommend them. They are that auto service place that is good and that you can trust!

I go to Pro Tire & Automotive Svc for all of my tire purchases. They have always been the lowest in price, have quick service, and are always more than happy to answer any questions that you might have. They do not try and push unnecessary products or services on customers, and have been upfront about all costs associated with any work they perform. Highly recommended!

My first time here, which was for an oil change and tire rotation. Tire rotation was free because of my being a new customer. Was impressed with the friendliness, willingness to communicate, and the prompt and efficient service (and theres Keurig coffee while you wait!--lol). Will definitely return.
