To be honest, I am surprised that it has taken me this long to write a review on The Corner Barber Shop... Because ever since I stepped foot through the door, Artur, Mike, Jaime, and Robert have treated me like their most valued customer. In fact, they treat everyone who walks through their shop as their most valued customer--greeting everyone with respect, courtesy, and great conversation. Apart from how well they treat their customers, they are also truly masters of their craft. Over the few years that I have been going to The Corner Barber Shop, I have received a haircut/beard trim/shave from Artur, Mike, Jaime, and Robert, and I have never left disappointed. Hi guys just after last night I have to let go one of my barber working in my barbershop due to multiple complaints and bad service it is intereting how next morning you recive bad review. We have been in the same locarion over 100 years so that means something ... we care and we follow every step with the health code to make sure everything is sterilized and clean we use disposal blades . Every barber in the shop have over 25 years of experience so we know our JOB but I am not gonna be suprise if we will still recive bad review. Everybody can use social media to spread all kind of stories GOOD LUCK and Thanks for support.

Maybe is just the way it is in America. But I hated my hair cut, it was nothing like I asked, and there was no way for me to correct him because I wasnt facing the mirror! It just looked like everyone elses in the room. They dont understand how hairs are different on different heads. I chose to trust the guy based on the reviews and that was a bad decision. If youre used to European barbers you will be disappointed.

Walked in, was served immediately, one of the best cuts Ive had in Chicago. I forgot to bring enough cash to pay and offered to leave my ID as collateral while I ran down to the bank and the barber said "no need, I trust you." I went two blocks down, grabbed the cash and happily went back to pay. Fantastic service, cool atmosphere, good part of town. Couldnt ask for better. Will be going back.

I give this place 5 stars because Ive been burned before. Hair salons are overpriced, new-age mens barbers tend to feel just like a chain. This place takes themselves seriously and it shows. No frills pricing and no awkward feeling like they just want to get you out of the way. This place is worth a try, if youre not satisfied, maybe you belong at a salon...

Really friendly, professional, knows what hes doing. In and out in 60 minutes on a Friday night. If you call ahead the barber will save your spot to speed up your process. I got a full cut in about 20 minutes, the barber lines you up with a single blade razor but what makes his special is he uses a hot lather and a hot towel for clean up. Feels amazing.

This is a barber shop in every sense of the words. You will receive a traditional old school hair cut with a hot lather and shave for a reasonable price. If you dont care about how you look then waste your money at great clips. Come here to feel like a gentlemen that drinks fine scotch and owns many leather bound books.

This is a true barber shop. I moved across the street when I first got to Chicago, and I havent let anybody cut my hair since. These guys genuinely care about building a relationship with you, and they do so by listening to you and giving a damn good haircut every time. You see a lot of regulars here for a reason.

Tried coming here twice. The hours advertised on the door showed they were open at least an hour later than when I showed up and there was someone inside, but the door was locked. The guy inside just looked at me with no explanation so I left both times.

Went here and got a decent cut for $17. I wasnt disappointed in my haircut but its only the second place Ive tried since moving Chicago so Im going to try elsewhere next time. I do prefer the barber shop atmosphere there to the salon feel of other places.

Asked for a simple taper on the sides. Barber got a bit too razor happy and ended up shaving 3/4 of my hair. Told him multiple times to not make the sides any shorter, but insisted on fixing it. This is the last time I will be visiting here.

Old school barber shop great vib... Awesome Haircut great price $17 Open 7days a week. Always a good time you can walkin or make an appointment. Also great Straight razor shaves. ..This shop historically been at this corner for 104 years.

I like this place a lot. Here I found a barber who chats as if he were an old friend within a fun old school environment, and -- most importantly -- gives a really good hair cut. Customers take note: this barber shop only accepts cash.

I have been going to Robert for years (like almost 15 years) and the guy is just an amazing barber. Very down to earth, kind and gentle. He does a wonderful job cutting hair and takes his time with you. Great for flattops!

Terrible. absolutely awful customer service. I called asking if I wss calling the correct number.. The man who answered was very rude in answering my question and hung up on me. I wouldnt recommend anyone come here

Dont even waste your time going anywhere else in Lakeview for a cut. I can count on a fresh fade every single time I walk out their door. Pros, old-school barber shop feel. Cant miss.

Classic barber shop!!! Hot towel shaves not to mention the barber chair reclines for a precise shave. Walk-ins by Juanny. Cant go wrong here. Free parking across the street.
