I contacted Four Seasons to assess our malfunctioning furnace. They found that it was a "bad blower motor" and recommended we replace it with a new one. We trusted the techs assessment (being that we have no knowledge in this field) and being without heat with a little child in the house we had no opportunity to do anything but resolve the problem. My parents have worked with this company in the past and I assumed they would be fair with their pricing. That is where I was wrong. Later that day I found out we were charged almost double what other companies quoted us for the same exact furnace. Four Seasons offers and additional warranty on labor; however, I would not expect to pay $3000 over other quotes. Also, the techs left a mess from the front and back doors leading down to the basement. The rags they used to walk on looked filthy and when they left there was dirt and little pebbles/rocks all over my hardwood floors, scratching them up as the techs came in and out of the house. After installing the thermostat they left pieces of wiring and metal pieces on the floor. I contacted the company less then 24 hours later after receiving several other quotes for the same exact unit and installation and finding we were grossly overcharged. On their website it clearly states "We will beat and competitors estimate by up to $500,GUARANTEED!" When I presented this to the rep she stated that is is also says to "See store for details" however on this claim there is no such notation. After contacting the "Executive" I was offered furnace cleaning and told this company offers no monetary refunds based on their terms and conditions; however, it states "The Company does not offer monetary compensation for equipment malfunction..." which is not what I am claiming. I am asking they stand behind the advertising on their website and reimburse me the difference of what several of their competitors quoted verses what we were charged. We were charged $6540 and the average of several other quotes I received (which I emailed to Four Season Customer service rep) was $3500 for parts plus labor. The warranty comes from the manufacturer. So I would like them to make the adjustment to that price.

My wife and I had a salesperson come by because our 15 year old furnace needed replacing. What we got was a hard-sell from a complete joker who was only interested in selling us everything he could. He told us the central-air was old and would probably need to be replaced within a year, and we should replace our hot-water heater while we were at it. He also promised $100 to my mother-in-law who referred us. She never got her referral check even though we ended up buying our system from them. Big mistake. After the storms of the 3rd week of July, 2010, my mother-in-laws basement flooded, and her central-air stopped working. Specifically, a fan in her furnace stopped. My wife called for service, making it clear that the damage was due to the flood. She asked the tech to arrive after 9am as she had to drive her sister to work. The tech called saying he was on his way at 7:30 am. She told him she wouldnt be ready, and she rushed to get back to her moms house to meet the tech. He came into the house, looked at the furnace (without touching it or opening anything), handed her a paper and demanded $79 for the call while telling her he couldnt fix the furnace because it was damaged by the flood. When my wife called customer service and explained the situation, the customer service rep, Tiffany, said that they always send a tech but they are not allowed to do a repair if the damage is caused by flood damage. My wife pointed out to her that she had mentioned the flood damage when she called for the technician, and said "so you just send someone so you can collect your money but you dont fix the problem" and Tiffany said "Basically, yes." They are not only dishonest, but they are even cavalier enough to admit it to their customers. i would NEVER trust Four Seasons for any reason.

Four Seasons came out as the second opinion on a bathroom leak in our apartment. The first plumbing company had stated the leak had to be fixed from the upstairs apartment, not through our first floor apartment ceiling. Four Seasons assured the landlord they could fix it from below, through our ceiling. So the landlord takes the cheaper estimate. Day of service comes and Im waiting around to let them in. They arrive an hour late, but things happen, so I dont say anything. Fast forward to 1.5 hours after they arrive to do the work. I get a call (mind you, Im a tenant, not the building owner) saying basically "oops, cant fix it through your ceiling, which we already cut a giant hole in, so were going to have to tear up the upstairs floor". I tell them to call the landlord as I cant authorize that but did point out we were ASSURED they wouldnt need to do that. If other plumbers knew immediately what needed to be done and these guys didnt, makes you wonder about the skill level. Finally were allowed back in the house at the end of the day. The plumbers are gone and said the work went fine....but we walk in to a total disaster. There is debris and plaster dust from our kitchen (which is behind the bathroom and they didnt have any real need to be in) all the way up through the front of the house. There is rusty waste water from the upstairs toilet waste pipe splashed literally all down the walls of our bathroom. Our toilet paper holder is broken off the wall. A light in our bathroom is missing the bulb. Some of our things are tossed in the tub carelessly. When asked about the mess the plumber actually raised his voice at me and said "do I look like a maid?" No, SIR, do I look like one to you? Dont hire these people.

My heater was shutting off early, so I called Four Seasons to come out and diagnose the problem. They charged an $85 appearance fee, which was no big deal, and worked for an hour or so. Then I was told that my AC coil was dirty and blocking air-flow out of the furnace, causing my furnace to overheat and shut off early, before the desired temp was reached. The service repair-man did not look at the coil directly, but told me he was 100% positive that this would fix the issue. Because replacing a coil takes a lot of work, I was charged $1200 for the repair. However, when the repair was completed, it was revealed that the coil was perfectly fine, and the problem persisted. The next day another technician came (for no charge) out and after several hours of work, realized that the issue related to the cold air return vents being blocked. The faulty diagnosis was an honest mistake - without doing hundreds of dollars worth of work to access the A-coil, we could never have realized it wasnt the problem, and all signs pointed to this being the issue. I was initially annoyed that I had to spend so much money for unnecessary work, but I was contacted by customer service to follow up on the work, and I used the opportunity to explain my frustration with being charged so much for unnecessary work. Customer service offered me a significant refund ($500), which I considered very fair. All in all I am happy with what I paid for the work that was done, and am extremely impressed with the customer service. Customer service went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied with the work. I am very impressed with how important my satisfaction was to this company.
