I figured that this cleaner couldnt screw up a simple pants hem. Boy was I wrong... Despite the terrible reviews, I took a pair of suit pants for a simple hem a week before a wedding in which I was the best man. I dropped them off Monday, since they were the only place left open at 7:30p on a Monday. I went back Thursday morning to pick them up and was told to come back in the afternoon. I come back in the afternoon at first the woman couldnt find them, even accusing me of having picked them up earlier! Finally she found them strewn haphazardly on a pile of clothes not having even been started. She asked me to come back Friday, which I couldnt since I was traveling for the wedding. Finally, I convinced her to do the hem, which she butchered (not least of which because she seemed concerned with watching some soap opera than stitching my pants). And the real kicker is that she "didnt have any steam" to even press them, so I had to find another cleaners prior to the wedding just to remove the chalk marks from the hem. Ill have to find yet another tailor to finish off the hem once this wedding is done, as the hem was done very poorly.

President Barack Obama does not use this place.. WHY!!!! So I paid for 2 white shirts and 3 pair of pants to be cleaned. I paid in advance (being a good customer) I needed them the next day, but I pick up my clothes 7 days later. The results for 3 pair of pants? My request was light starch and no crease I got heavy starch 2 no crease one creased. My white shirts results? The cleaners did not clean the left to burn marks in the back and told I had to pay extra for spot cleaning and It was somebody elses fault for the bad service cause the send the clothes out. Oh I did get a apology for my expectations to pay for the damaged shirts but its not there fault .. WTH do you dare ask me if you should use this establishment?

NEVER EVER will my Mom take her clothes to this cleaners. First of all, there was poor customer service. The cashier looked like she had been in a fist fight by the face, guess she was upset about that moving slow. Went in the back, didnt bring out all items, had to be asked where are the rest of the clothes. Secondly charged my Mom an extra 2 dollars stating that when clothes were dropped off the attendent priced it wrong. Lastly there is a huge rip in my Moms skirt. They made a point to put a sign up stating that they werent to be held responsible for Any mistakes. Are you kidding me. Never going back!!

Used this business to get a dress cleaned in a hurry plus at least 3-4 times more since then. I must say, the service is extremely fast, especially for such a good job they do. They also are friendly and rather intelligent concerning all things laundry and cleaning. They made my dress look brand new, and this dress was at least 4 years old. I have and will continue to use them time and time again. I recommend people look no further for a great, affordable, quick and friendly cleaner in Chicago. Give them a try, you definitely wont regret it.

I recently moved to Chicago from PA. I now live in Lake Forest, which seems to be the dry cleaner capital of the world, but for the first few weeks I lived in the Hyde Park Area. When I asked about a place to get my suit spotless clean in a crunch, I was always pointed toward Golden Touch. The popular opinion was correct. My suit is interview ready, and it was finished faster than anyone could reasonable expect. Plus, word is Obama got his suits here…must be good!

I needed to get my suit dry-cleaned for a job interview, and my friend who used to live in Hyde Park recommended Golden Touch Cleaners. She even said that Barack Obama used to go here for his dry cleaning, but who knows lol. But the service was excellent; they did my suit much quicker than I had anticipated and the price was extremely fair. I also had some nice small talk with the owner, whom wished me luck at my interview.

Chipotle mayo on white pants - theyre ruined, right? Three places I brought my pants two, and each one left a slight stain on my beloved pants. Golden Touch should have been my first choice. No other place Ive gone to before or since has been as good for dry cleaning. Quick turn-around time and excellent service, highly recommended!

Normally, I hate picking up and dropping off, but Gold Touch Cleaners are starting to change my mind. Difficult stains on delicate materials are not at all a problem for them. I’m talking red ink stains on a white silk blouse. When I got it back, they were totally gone! I’m a lifelong customer from then onward!

They hemmed one of my skirts, and the hem fell out after a week. Not only did they refuse to refund my money ($15 for a simple hem), but they didnt even apologize and were very rude. I interacted with 3 different people, including the owner, so the bad attitude was not just an isolated incident.

Very friendly - good service. They replace buttons and re-hem as part of their service. Weve been using this cleaners for about 6 months now - never had a problem.
