I enjoy taking fitness classes, which is why I joined this gym and I LOVE it!! LSAC offers a wide variety of quality classes....Zumba, cardio dance, cardio sculpt, muscle toning, core, turbo kick, pilates, spinning, boxing, 10 different kinds of yoga classes, you name it! The great thing is that there are no extra fees for the classes. You can take as many as you want whenever you want. The classes are taught by great instructors-they know their stuff and are very energetic and motivating. Yes, the membership fee is a bit on the pricey side, but since I take a good amount of classes (about 3-4) a week, its totally worth it. In addition, the gym and locker rooms are always clean and there was never a moment where I would have to wait for a machine. I love the rain showers and glass tile in the locker rooms; the lockers with the built-in locks are a plus. The steam room I have yet to try, the sauna not too interested in. Also, the staff if very helpful and friendly.

Oh LSAC how I love thee! I enjoy the number of classes offered here and they keep adding on with the demand. I also like the cardio quipment and how they have personal tvs mounted on them. The tvs have cable which is nice because I dont have cable and can catch up on my shows while working out at the same time. The spin studio is really nice. If youre interested in trying spin for the first time go to one of Michaels classes hes great. Im also in love with Stephanies Friday night Zumba classes. Its Zumba but not its more of cardio dance class with Zumba moves. Its the perfect way to start off the weekend! The facility itself is awesome. The owners of Chicago Athletic Club have done a great job of decorating the clubs. One nice thing is the lockers have built in locks that you program with your own code. Which means you never have to worry about forgetting your lock.

The facility is nice, but customer service has always been sub par. This may be a general condemnation of the gym membership industry but why do you need to go through so much to cancel a membership? I used the gym once in the 6 months after my contract ended and I have to pay for another month after canceling. I understand that in the agreement it says a 30 day notice is needed, but this clause is pretty much only there to get another payment. When the lady on the phone responds to my, albeit angry, argument with "we are a business" it makes me think their local neighborhood image is all for show. If I had been using the facilities, or if I canceled right after my contract ended I might understand, but I was the most profitable kind of customer for 6 months and when I questioned the need for the additional payment their response was "We are a business"

This gym is really nice. Its a nice compact size, but doesnt feel crowded. All the basics are covered, freeweights, machines, cardio, nice roomy floor, two studios (one is being expanded too), plus a spinning room. Theyre putting in a pool across the street, its under construction at the time of this review. The staff is very friendly and the clientele seems to be average joes (I dont feel judged for being overweight). Towel service is included. They offer discounts for teachers and some other occupations as well. You also have access (depending on your plan) to other locations in Chicago, so you can head down to Lakeview and climb on the rock wall if you want. All in all weve been very happy with this gym (also Lakeview where we started before this one opened).

Decent facility, plenty of equipment and the staff are friendly and non-discriminatory. The price is steep but they offer free classes (Hot Yoga, yoga, dance stuff, zumba) and have not-free personal trainers. Even though the price is steep if you work for a decent non-profit you can knock some decent dollars off of your membership. My main suggestion for improvement to the place would be if they could extend their hours. A secondary suggestion would be that they get a basketball court. "Thats not realistic!", you say? They just bought property across the street and added a pool. I think this particular Club is up and coming. The more business they get the better the facilities and overall prices are going to be.

Terrible customer service and uncomfortable vibes from all the staff. Upon walking in it already looks like the staff hate their jobs. We were kicked out of the sauna for having our phones and listening to music. While I understand cell phone usage is limited in the locker room space - one of the staff made a point of tellin us while we were sitting in the sauna disregarding every other member also LISTENING to music in the locker room (i.e. Not talking on the phone or taking pictures) this is 2017 get with the program LSAC. Peoples music are on their phones. I dont pay $70 a month to be told when I can and cant listen to music on my phone while working out. Ill be going back to LVAC.

Dont be swindled by there membership advisors if you sign up for a membership here. My gf and I were going to be moving out of state, but wanted a membership for a few months. We agreed on 6 month terms and Melissa F. explained thoroughly that we could cancel before the 6 months and just pay a small % of the remaining balance, which I was fine with. However, she failed to mention that after the 6 month terms expired, it would automatically "roll" to a month by month contract. Claimed she couldnt refund me for the extra months I was billed because "it would be unfair to the other members" Solid reasoning. Shady business practices and terrible customer service in my opinion.

I was a member here for a little over a year and absolutely loved it, only leaving when my new office came complete with a gym. The classes were always excellent (I highly recommend Spinning with Brady or Suzanne), the facilities were always clean, and I rarely had to wait for a piece of equipment. Its not the largest gym, so they dont quite have everything, but there was more than enough cardio equipment and free weights to keep everyone happy, no matter your fitness goals. The pool is a huge plus, rarely crowded and always a great temperature. If youre in the area and seeking a gym, LSAC really is a fantastic choice.

Im always met with a standoffish and unwelcoming demeanor from the woman at the front desk with glasses (at the swimming pool building). It makes me feel really uncomfortable and out of place while inside. Also walked in to drop the kids off for lessons only to realize I left the students swim trunks at home. Let them know Id be right back. Arrived again only 10 minutes late and was awkwardly told the lesson will be cut short. Funny how theyll take all of the money for the full time but wont be flexible 10 minutes for us one time. Such an inpersonal experience

When searching for a gym, I was worried LSAC would be a bit too...well...gymmy, but I was surprised to see the members come from a wide variety of backgrounds, the trainers are nothing but encouraging and there are a range of classes for all fitness levels. The gym is always clean, has plenty of machines and the locker rooms are roomy. Unless you want a sceney place to scope out a bunch o hot bods and show off your musculature, LSAC is fantastic place to get in shape!
