This studio is great! I give it the highest recomendation. The teachers there are very skilled and knowlegable. Take it from me Im a professional ballroom and latin dancer and teacher. Even though Im a pro I still can get a lot from them. Ive worked intimatly in the past with Del and Laura and know they are very reliable and professional. On top of being great teachers they both have done great job running a top mambo company. They also host the best mambo/salsa social in Chicago. So they really do have extensive understanding of how to dance and what is current in the dance scene. Unlike other studios who use very out dated mambo syllabus.... (ah.. cough) - Chicago Dance. (I was there for years, I know!) So for the best mambo or salsa in the city GO HERE! Ive been to many studios and as a pro and teacher take it from me I know a good teacher when I see when. Del and Laura are the best!!!

This place is a dance oasis! It is unquestionably the best dance studio in the city for Latin dance (salsa, bachata, cha cha, etc). They welcome students at all levels and know exactly how to make the best use of your time. More so than any studio Ive been to, they put a huge emphasis on technique, which works wonders for your dancing. The two co-owners/main instructors are extremely passionate about what they do and display that passion in every class while trying to make you the best dancer you can be. I think some people are a little hesitant to try this place because they only teach salsa on 2 (also known as New York style salsa or Mambo) but trust me, thats the type of salsa you want to know whether youre a five year veteran or a newcomer to dance!

This [place is great. They have a great mix of people, dancers and ages. The instructors and the students are all friendly and very encouraging. If you are a timid dancer, as am I, they encourage you with their own stories of how the began. And at the mixers they have on the last Wednesday of the month you are encouraged to mix it up with great dancers, regardless of your skill level, everyone is included. Thus making you look forward to the next class, so you can master moves you saw at the last mixer. Dale and Laura are great owners and instructors, very warm and friendly. They make you feel like family and not customers. If you are curious about dancing, this is the place to lace up your dance shoes and release your inner Fred Astaire

Wow! I admit I was a scared to go to a dance class and learn Salsa as its really outside of my comfort zone but I admit I had a blast at MMA. I tried some other studios but I never found a good fit until now. Laura, one of the co-owners, is so fun and encouraging that I felt at home as I stumbled and then grasped her instruction which was delivered clearly and with detail. I appreciate that they really are interested in helping you grow as a dancer and arent so quick to move you on without really understanding vital information. Ive learned a lot about Salsa dancing and have had a ton of fun in class, I cant recommend this place enough. Youll thank me later!

I am so glad I took the leap to learn how to dance at MMA. Dancing was out of my comfort zone and MMA made it comfortable to learn through amazing instruction. Laura and Del make MMA a fun place to forget about life for a few hours a week and just dance. The knowledge they both have is just astonishing and help in learning how to dance. Cha Cha and Salsa/Mambo dont seem scary anymore, but a fun time on the dance floor. A giant open space for dancing, amazing instructors, and salsa music! What else could a person want from a dance studio? MMA is the best and only place to learn Salsa on 2, Cha Cha, and Bachata.

Mixed Motion Art Dance Academy is a great place to learn Salsa/Mambo. in Chicago. Great school with really knowledgeable instructors. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced dancer, Del and Laura can give you information to get your dancing to the next level. Classes are right-sized so youll definitely get attention under the watchful eyes of the instructor for that class. I have been dancing with them for less than 2 months and have gotten numerous compliments on my Salsa/Mambo dance skills. I attribute this directly to the instruction provided by Mixed Motion Art Dance Academy.

I have been going to MMA for a few months now and it has been an amazing experience. I have never had any formal dance training/guidance and they have been spectacular. The instructors are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! I would strongly recommend MMA to anyone! If you are a more experienced dancer, they have advanced classes to fit your skill level and improve your technique. But if you are like me and have absolutely no prior dance experience, then they have the amazing staff with the right skills and open approach to help!

Ive been meaning to do this for a while – I took some salsa classes at Mixed Motion Art Dance Academy and I have to say – WOW! The quality of the instruction is fantastic, and everyone is so friendly – it made the whole experience great! Group lessons were super chill and private lessons made it come together even faster ... Any instructors who can give a guero some "sabor" deserve a medal ... thank you Del and Laura for giving us Mixed Motion Art Dance Academy!!

The best place to learn to salsa! I have worked with instructors across the country and Del and Laura are the best Ive ever found. They are fabulous dancers and excellent teachers. They can break down the basics for beginners and challenge more advanced dancers. MMA is one of the most welcoming, open and positive studios Ive ever had the pleasure of attending. Highly, highly, highly recommended!

Instructors and owners Laura Flores and Del Dominguez have been an amazing resource to help expand my horizon and confidence with dance. They have the ability to explain and demonstrate different dancing techniques in a way that makes sense to each student. They also provide a comfortable environment for each dancer to feel comfortable and confident during their learning experience!

I took a trial lesson with a ladyfriend at Mixed Motion Arts on a dare and loved every moment. Instructor was crazy good and somehow managed to teach this newbie how not to look like a newbie. I think my ladyfriend was impressed too. Im going back for more asap. For the best salsa lessons in Chicago, Mixed Motion Arts is the place to go.
