This was the worst experience ever. I just moved to Chicago and flint know many people to her a recommendation on a ex place so j thought I would try the salon that is neat my gym since they have awesome reviews. Well this was not the case for me. I wasnt greeted when I walked in (typical situation when youre a black person in Chicago living in a nice neighborhood- Im learning). Before I came, j called and inquires on thier method. I should have known not to come because she couldnt understand what I meant by hard wax. She assured me that she is great and I should come in. So I did and the set up is a littl dingy room that I would trust only to get my eyebrows done in. She went to work without giving me a chance to say no. They use wax paper! Who does that in the 21st century? It was so painful and my Brazilian is awful. Its not cleaned up at all and now Im going to have to wait a few days and use or something. Im literally in so much pain right now :( FYI to the salon owners, get th hard blue wax for your clients that are minorities and have a different texture of hair. I wont be back.

Not being a regular salon goer, I wasnt sure what service I would want to spend my gift certificate on. Sonia was so nice and honest. She even explained to me that a service I was considering would be unnecessary for someone of my lifestlye and recommended the more basic version. How many places can you go where they dont up sell you? She also was very patient in explaining all the various options on hand. Ill definitely be coming here for my future girly days! (And check the board. They seem to have some great specials.) Update: Apparently they remove the no-chip manicures for free and still treat you just as warmly as though you were buying a service!

I just went here for the first time and am walking back home as I type this! I just moved to edgewater and wanted something closer (previously went to a place in Morton Grove). I was a bit nervous about this place because of the mixed yelp reviews. I came in and was greeted by Sabia (sp?) who ended up threading my lip and eyebrows. She didnt ask what I wanted, but I told her just to please clean up my eyebrows, not thin them, and she did just that. They look great! Then she applied lotion to my lip and eyebrows in a way that was essentially a face massage! Almost fell asleep in the chair! Ill definitely be back!!

I bought a groupon for this place and finally was able to go and use it. The young woman who did my manicure and padicure was so sweet and easy going. She had a nice conversation with me. I felt really relaxed throughout the entire experience I will be back soon! You can tell a lot about the people who work there because everyone there was a return customer. Everyone was happy and so nice. I even had a wonderful one hour conversation with a wonderful man who was getting his nails done as well. I cant wait to come back for the no chip service and to get my eye brows threaded.

How lovely not to have to go to Devon anymore to have my eyebrows threaded. Sonia is a MASTER of straight lines and clean brows done nearly painlessly. (Yes, really.) Its worth waiting for her to emerge from the waxing room between Brazilians for a truly professional brow treatment. Oh, and they do ridiculous cheap mani-pedis. Always check Sonias specials board for a crazy deal on bundled services.

While I was getting my nails done, I overheard another customer asking the woman assisting her all sorts of rude and personal questions! The nail technician was incredibly patient and de-escalated the situation gracefully. My nails also look amazing! My pedicure and gel manicure are still going strong after two weeks (a record for me) even though I went on an active/outdoorsy vacation right after.

Sonia happens to be a very dear aunt and she did my quick threading while we all had to catch up with her nieces wedding function in London June2016. Her hands are magical and i felt so groomed up with my very first threading experience. Its time for the metro males to indulge in make overs. Great Going.... SONIA SALON. GOD BLESS !

I popped in here after work and got my brows threaded by miss Sonia, herself. She left a little extra hair on one of my brows, and when I asked her to take it off, she was very receptive and did a good job of making the other side match. I found her shop to be clean, and I would definitely go back.

Still love it! Great place to get your nails and eyebrows done for inexpensive price and it last long! Sonia knows how to do amazing job on eyebrows and Elya, Shirin and Anna does awesome job on nails so you wont regret for sure! Keep it up girls) love it

It was my first time at Sonias, the lady who did my eyebrows was nice and gentle to the customer before me but she was rough with me. My eyebrows look almost the same as when I went in. Ive had better jobs done before. Wouldnt go there again.
