We took my vehicle to Barb City Automotive due to Johns reputation for being honest and was treated with the same personal care and honesty that has been so well documented in others reviews. We were highly impressed by the service we received from John and Barb City Automotive!!! We took our vehicle to Barb City Automotive with a laundry list of issues we needed accessed and addressed. John thoroughly inspected our vehicle, identified the cause of the known issues in addition to finding a serious maintenance issue (where did all the coolant go?), and repaired the issues that others had been unable to correct. Not only was the work of the highest caliber, it was completed very quickly with attention to detail and very economically! My van hasnt run this well in a long time!! Thanks to John and Barb City Automotive, I am confidant that my van will safely carry my family across-country for our up-coming trip. Thank you for giving me that peace of mind and a smooth ride in my van back!! We highly recommend Barb City Automotive!!

Not one of the best and most knowledgeable mechanic shops in DeKalb, but THE best and most knowledgeable shops in DeKalb. Thinking John had decided to retire, I tried a few other shops and after every experience in these other shops, I would have additional car problems. Between three of them - two in DeKalb and one in Burlington, they pretty much destroyed my 2002 Ford Explorer. Out of desperation, I returned to Barb City only to find that John had not retired. Now, I am happy, our cars are happy and my sons car is happy. Save your time and money and go to Barb City - it the long run, your car will be back on the road faster and in the long run, it will cost you less money.

These guys were AWESOME!! I had issues with my sons car... I called first thing in the morning and they were able to see me right then! Had the car done in record time, and even drove me home and picked me back up to get the car!!! More affordable than I thought as well!!! Couldnt have asked for nicer people! THANK YOU for making an inconvenient situation so pleasant! Very, very nice to know there are still businesses like this out there! THANKS, Guys!!!!!!! Simply put, these guys are great! Good prices, plus very quality and quick service. Heres why they have my loyalty: about a year ago, I was seriously given a run around from the dealership where I originally purchased my car. Afterwards (a couple weeks - for a second opinion), I went to Barb City Auto, and they noticed that fluids hadnt actually been filled or replaced and I was about to pay for a lot of work that my car didnt need. That honesty is enough to keep me coming back and to write this review in the first place.

Called in to ask about an oil change, and the price was incredibly reasonable. Really friendly people. I was able to get in the same day I called. Only downside is that the lobby smelled like gasoline, so maybe drop off your car and come back for it, instead of waiting like I did.
