Smart Marketing

All right planet fitness, I completely understand what youre trying to do with the whole "judgment free" zone thing. You want people of all shapes, sizes, race, gender, and religions to feel comfortable working out and bettering themselves without being intimidated/judged by others. But, do you understand that you have created what you are trying to prevent? Your little "lunk" alarm is absolutely ridiculous and in my opinion counter productive. Im a little guy and Ive always wanted bigger muscles but trying to gain weight can be hard work. Sometimes you may breathe a little too loud for the planet fitness standard. Sometimes your arms are tired and you lose your grip and maybe the weights might make a little noise on the way down but the stupid alarm does nothing but make matters worse! When that thing goes off, people look around at each other to find the "lunk" and of course their brains are going to make an association to someone even if they may not be the culprit. People then judge them and think "oh my god, what a loser," even if that person did nothing wrong. So when your little alarm goes off all 40+ people at your gym are judging someone simultaneously and causing other people to think in-word and judge themselves even if they arent the "lunk." So get rid of the stupid alarm because youre only making the situation worse. I personally become self conscious evey time that alarm goes off and I think "oh no, I hope that wasnt me." It makes me uncomfortable to be there. By the way, the person pressing the button for the alarm (YOUR EMPLOYEE) is judging to begin with, so your company is already based on hypocrisy.

When I went to cancel my membership I was charged $60, after I was told that nothing would be billed back to me from that point on. When I called them I was told theres nothing that they can do thats just how things were and because they didnt cancel it when they were supposed cancel it I would now charge the $60 and they wont give it back to me . I was told by the manager that he contacted his regional manager and his regional manager said "well she can have her money back because thats just how it goes." After I got off the phone I hope to my friends and the same thing happened to them or that the after I got off the phone I hope to my friends in the same thing happened to them!

Terrible management style - they get you to sign a membership document without telling you about an annual fee and all of the sudden you see a charge in your account for it. When you call, there is virtually no explanation other than "sorry for the inconvenience" and to cancel a membership, you have to send in a letter - wouldnt be surprised if it needs to be delivered by horse. Find a real gym to get a real workout and real service.

Decent workout place but they usually have at least 1 or 2 of the Black Card amenities unavailable for a LONG time and dont really seem interested in fixing them. They lack a Total Body Enhancement machine, something most others have and their stand up tanning bed is frequently down. For a basic workout, sure its fine but theyre a long way from the other PF clubs Ive gone to around the country.

I will never step foot into another planet fitness, ever! Customer service is horrible, tried contacting corporate and they said there is nothing we can do about it, then regional said nope nothing we can do about it. Even though I asked to cancel because of moving they still charge me. Ill never recommend anyone to join this place! Watch out, you get what you pay for!!!

Im able to get in a great workout. There are times when you will find people holding up machines while they play with their phones, but where can you go where that wont happen, right. Overall, Im satisfied with the quality this gym presents. Its always clean, neat, and the staff is friendly.

Being member at this place for over 2 years now. The place is small and can be pretty chaotic during peak hours. Bathroom cleanliness goes for a toss after 2 pm. That is one big reason I drive all the way to PF Morton Grove if I am working out late afternoons.

The best part is that its open 24 hours. Clean for the most part. The changing rooms could be cleaner. Paper towels, spray bottles, and hand sanitizers are usually always filled, unlike other planet fitness that seem to ration paper towels and cleaning spray.

I used to work out here for over a year. It had everything I need. It was really so busy that I had to wait for a machine. Theres plenty of open lighting. Theres plenty of room for stretching. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Good gym with basic equipment. You wont find any dumbbell heavier than 60lbs. No squat rack. Plenty of machines. I go at night to avoid the crowd.
