I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone and everyone! I really put all of my trust in Jerry and he blew away all of my expectations! First of all, he has an amazing memory. I would call him up and he would remember exactly who I was, even though I know he has at least two weddings every week. He was very accommodating throughout the whole wedding process. He even recommended other vendors (especially our amazing DJ!) During the rehearsal, he took control and helped organize our large bridal party and my aunt who was officiating her first wedding. He made me feel very confident for the next day. On the day of the wedding, me and the bridesmaids got there SUPER early to get ready in the bridal room. Jerry was very accommodating, and all of the tables and decorations were set up before we even got there (and I know he had a wedding the night before). Before the ceremony, the bartender (AKA the bride whisperer) came into my dressing room to calm me down and talk me through the whole process. She even talked to my dad and myself to calm our nerves right before walking down the aisle. She was AMAZING and I am so thankful for her! She even took care of the groom and I the whole night. She kept checking on us to make sure we were doing ok. During the ceremony, one of our bridesmaids daughters was screaming in the front row, so Jerry swooped up and took her to one of the staff members to play with. It was amazing and completely unexpected. He organized the whole thing and talked us through the whole process. We had some chaos with our photographer, and Jerry helped manage her and help to make things run a little smoother. It was very obvious that Jerry is a pro at this! He even had wet, warm washcloths for us "in case" we smashed cake in each others faces. He went above and beyond and truly made the night amazing! He had to deal with a lot of my crazy family drama, but he did it graciously! He even packed doggy bags of the FABULOUS food for us. Thanks Jerry!!

We had our wedding at Parkway. The price is more than reasonable. There were no hidden fees. My guests didnt have to travel from the ceremony to the reception because it is all right there. Everyone there knew exactly what they were doing. The staff was phenomenal! Michelle kept me calm and made sure I was taken care of every step of the way. Jerry, the owner, took care of everything and went above and beyond. There was a little boy with autism in our family. We noticed he wasnt eating. I found out that evening that the only thing he will eat is chicken strips and hamburgers. Jerry was right on top of the situation! He made him a plain hamburger so he could eat dinner and participate. And boy did he have a great time. All of my guests left happy and with tummies full of delicious food. I would recommend this venue to anyone who is having any type of event. My new husband and I were VERY impressed with all of the personal touches and care taken to ensure everything ran smoothly. We had the fantastic four. The benefit of going with Jerrys recommended vendors (aside from the great price and value) is that they have all worked together before and your wedding/event will flow much better because they all communicate with each other during your ceremony to keep it running smoothly. If you go with Parkway (and you should) you should definitely go with his recommended vendors. Sharrett Studios did our photography and they do an amazing job. Double Trouble was our DJ and they personalized the ceremony and read the crowd. We even had an impromptu performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" that brought the house down. Our party was jumpin! Reverend Kauffman did the ceremony and he made it very animated and special to us. It felt as if hed known us for years. On top of it all, the price is INCREDIBLY reasonable. If you book with Parkway and you didnt have a good time or you left hungry, it was you own fault. Our wedding was a dream and better than I could have ever imagined!!

From a DJs perspective - BEWARE! The owner talks to you like youv never DJd an event before, and is very very condescending. I understand that he wants everything to go well. Im pretty sure that we all do. Overbearing is an understatement. He actually made me stop - YES COMPLETELY STOP - the dancing and clear the dance floor - TWICE - because someone dropped a glass. One of the dances he stopped was the Bridal Party dance - what a great start to a night. I do understand that he doesnt want anyone getting hurt. I dont either. But in my years as an entertainer - I have seen a lot of broken glass on the dance floor, and have NEVER - EVER seen anyone EVER ask me to STOP everything and actually ask people to leave the floor. RIDICULOUS. If dropping glass on the floor is such a concern - USE THE LARGE STACKS OF PLASTIC CUPS YOU HAVE AT THE BAR. I knew the entire bridal party personally, and they said that he was over bearing during rehearsal as well. Again, I run a business. I know I always want things to go well. But there is a line to draw, and a way to have fun while making that happen. After the event, I was told that other DJs actually snapped on this guy because he was too much to handle. Fortunately, I was able to repack the dance floor, and keep the humor of the guests up ( Played sound bites of glass breaking and repeatedly asked people not to bring glass on the floor anymore ). We packed up and left within 30 minutes - and hope to not return to this place.

Upon beginning our search for a reception venue, my Wife and I wanted a place that was scenic, welcoming, spacious, and affordable. Luckily for us, we went for a visit to "Parkway by the Lake" in Ingleside, Illinois. We met with Jerry, whos the owner of the establishment. Right off the bat, he made us feel welcome and special. He worked with us and made sure we were 100% happy and comfortable with each decision we had to make. From the first few minutes of being there, it was clear that this WAS the place my Wife and I wanted our reception at. Our choice was a no-brainer, really. Jerry and his staff put in 110% effort on our wedding/reception night this past August, and helped make our special day that much more fun and memorable. If anyone reading this is ever thinking about using "Parkway by the Lake" for anything, especially a wedding reception, I say STOP thinking and go with this fine place. You wont regret it. Jerry and his staff are top notch, professional, fun, and nice people. Ill forever be thankful to "Parkway" and to Jerry for all he did for my Wife and I. OUTSTANDING. There is NO ONE in the catering business that will care more about your event than Parkways owner, Jerry Ming. He is WELL respected in the industry, and will treat you & your guests like family. Jerry will go out of his way to make sure that your every whim is catered to. Jerrys staff is second to none. They go out of their way to make sure that every little detail is perfect. No matter what advice you are looking for - a bakery recommendation, help choosing a DJ, advice on a photographer - Jerry knows them ALL, and he only works with the BEST. The facility is lovely - warm, open, and inviting. You can even have your wedding ceremony there! The view of the lake as the sun sets is SPECTACULAR, no matter what time of the year it is. Your guests will remember your event fondly for many years to come. Look no further - I HIGHLY recommend Parkway by the Lake.
