While getting ready for a long day at a beloved family members funeral we went to the lounge to get a drink of water and to see where we could put refreshments for the people who would be there for the next 8 hours(plus a local store was nice enough to supply some finger food). We bumped into one of the funeral helpers and he stated there was a lounge closer to where our wake was. I was talking to my daughter as he showed us where the other room was and I said no, there is no refridgerator in there as we had been talking of this earlier. In a condescending tone the funeral helper stated they were a funeral home and not a restaurant. Talk about kicking someone when they are down.I hadnt even been talking to him but he felt the need to comment. The last thing on my mind was his nasty remark since I had just lost the closest person in the world to me beside my husband and children but after the trama of the last week had subsided slightly I thought back to that comment and was mortified and embarrassed. We just wanted somehwere to put water bottles to keep them cold knowing there was going to be many upset people who would be looking for a cold drink to calm themselves down or maybe a soda to fix a low sugar or a place to put medication that needed to be kept cold.Plus there was going to be children there and they dont drink coffee. When you are there all day a small fridge would suffice. Plus the group was younger people and the funeral helpers seemed to be watching them like the wake guests were out to mess up the funeral home (it was not an assisting kind of watching). It was very strange. It stinks that when I remember that day, I remember that rude comment. It gave the meaning to adding insult to injury.

We recently used Carlson Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and found it to have a very comfortable atmosphere. The staff handled everything completely so my mother could instead concentrate on spending time with the rest of our family and friends. We didnt have to worry about anything. I would be confident in recommending Carlson Funeral Home based on the warm and caring treatment they extended to us.

My father was one of the original founders/owners of this funeral home. So, of course we used them when both my parents died. Mike Sayles and the rest of his staff definitely are carrying on the traditions of caring service that my father and grandfather started. Everybody was kind and thoughtful in arranging for the services. They made a difficult time much easier to handle.

My grandmothers funeral was held at Carlson Holmquist-Sayles. I found the facilities to be beautiful and really well maintained. The staff was more than accommodating when it came to our family and were extremely professional during this extremely difficult time. I was very happy with the sevice they provided and would highly recommend this funeral home.

I called this Funeral Home from my work wanting to speak to the owner, and as soon as the owner answer, he assumed I was trying to sell him something so he was very rude to me. I do not appreciate the owner of any business, specially a funeral home to have such tone of voice when asnwering phone calls. He even said some bad words.
