I had the most disappointing customer service experience. I signed up about 45 days ago. When I signed up I was asked if I would like to offer someone a vip pass for free 2 weeks, Im like great so i added my friend. Today I asked my friend did she ever use her two free weeks, she said no. So before going to the gym I called to ask what it is she needed additional to her Id, the representative said that her vip had to be used within 30 days. I was like wow I wasnt aware, she said didnt you read your paperwork. I said I did, but maybe I missed that part. So I then I asked if my friend is still able to come with me today, she said yes for $15. I asked was she able to have a complimentary pass? She said no it would take 24 hrs. I said wow is there nothing you can do? She no. She can sign up for a membership. So I literally was disappointed that she didnt even attempt to help, so before I gave up I called the LA Fitness on Marshfield, spoke to Jon, explained the situation and said no problem you guys can come here and I will issue her complimentary pass. Then once we arrived there, he asked did she ever use the VIP? I said no he immediately issued her the two week. I wrote this review because I just signed up for LA Fitness and they literally almost lost a new member and the future members I had ready to start, all because this LA Fitness solve a minor issue with discrepancy of the vip. My friend literally wanted to just get a feel for the gym before signing a membership. Which she did at the Marshfield location!

Funny how people are making complaints. Its a gym it should be loud and up beat. That should motivate you. Stay at home and put in a workout video if you want comfortbility. The locker room smells. Damn if 30 men workout out in then walk into any small room Im sure the room want have a pleasant scent. Its a gym. Cleanliness yes I too want a clean please to workout at but most people working out there are not focus on cleaning up after their self. They are focus on working out. The staff cant be everywhere at once to clean up behind individuals. If so that means they have to employee more staff which means higher membership. I seen some complaining about the cost already. As to the repairs we as consumers are paying for the full usage of the gym. Yes they need to make sure repaid are done in a timely manner. But over all if you come there to get a good workout you can achieve that. The other issues are really minor to me. No I dont work at the club Im just realistic in my view.

they really need to do something about the mens locker room smell. i have been going to this gym for 4 years and its always smelled like mildew and toes. I like the La Fitness in Oakbrook the best but this is closer to home. They were trying to put efforts in having the guys re-rack the weights a week ago when i came in with my wife. I had headphones on an I thought the "staff" guy was just a regular person just picking up my weights but when I took them off he explained why. Unfortunately Ive been back at least twice since that day and the weights are still all over the place. In all honesty Ive been to at least 7 LA Fitness locations over the last year and to keep it 100 its mostly blacks that goes to this gym and it seems like the management has given up on keeping it nice. Yes i do understand that the people working out should do their part in helping to clean up behind themselves but this spot could just make a few changes to get a 4 or 5 rating.

Today was my first time going to this LA FITNESS and although it is in need of an upgrade, I still enjoyed myself. The staff on duty were really nice and the patrons were nonjudgmental. Being that I suffer from Social Anxiety, it is usually very hard for me to feel fully at ease. But today, it was easy for me to zone out and get into my comfortable space. The only thing I didnt like was the fact that there werent any sanitizer stations available for us to just grab a wipe and clean down the equipment. I found myself going back and forth to the HAND sanitizer station to apply sanitizer to my wash cloth so I would be able to clean before and after I get up. Also towels would be lovely and the scale in the womens locker room is broken.

Newer facility but already starting to go downhill. Machines still not fixed after almost two months. Overcrowded now that Ballys is closed so you may have to wait to use a piece of equipment if one of the others is broken. Staff not authorized if you want to get out of your contract. Ended up calling headquarters in Los Angeles who said that I had to go back when the club manager was around and that only he had the authority to stop the monthly payments from coming out of my account. Their headquarters wouldnt even let you cancel over the phone. Not too convenient if you work during the day and they are about to place another charge on your account.

Several of the machines have needed maintenance for the past 6 months. I have not seen any of the lockers that have been broken into fixed in the past year. Sales people will try to push to you during a workout. The pool is always disgusting. This location regularly has people not related to the club set up booths near the entrance to the lockers. Often, they are DJs who play their music so loud, you cannot listen to your own music with headphones. Sometimes they have a booth for a local restaurant inside, and they cook some of the most greasy food. This gym is not worth the expense.

Very low-end. Im only a member for the racquetball courts and their close proximity to my residence. Weights are all over the floor/machines, members running between machines because theres no track, garbage everywhere. Visit LA Fitness in other Chicagoland locations and you will see a HUGE difference. Ive spoken with management numerous times but they dont care. I asked if they know what their Google rating is and they actually did. Then I asked what are they going to do about it. And he replied "well theres nothing we can really can do". I would not recommend this club.

I have been a member of the club for 5 years now, I also have taken 1.5 years of personal training. I left Ballys after 20 years to join LA Fitness. The Lansing club is not being maintained well. The lockers are broken, not being repaired, equipment is not being repaired in a timely manner. The club overall is getting run down. But, LA Fitness takes their dues on time every month. I expect the maintainance of the club to be done efficiently as needed. PLEASE DONT LET THIS CLUB GO TO THE DOGS....BECAUSE THATS THE DIRECTION WHERE IS IS PRESENTLY HEADING.

I love the equipment and the facility. I also liked the fact that our sales person was not pushy. HOWEVER! I DID NOT LIKE what I thought was a free assessment. I got pushed HARD to get a personal trainer. I said, not right now so many times, I had to get my husband to join me to say it too. Now I feel like I have to go to the gym during another time of day because I dont want to run into the pushy sales person. I wish they would change this policy. It made me wish I wouldve gone to Ballys.
