This location has horrible customer service. I went to them on a Saturday afternoon to have a fraying alternator belt replaced since I did not have time to do it myself. They quoted me a time of 45 minutes to an hour maximum. It took them 2 hours to complete the service. Strike one. I was doing some unrelated maintenance the next day and I found that they had actually left a tool under my hood. Strike two. I then took the car out on the highway the next day. My alternator light came on and after a few miles getting to an exit (I did not want to stop on the hard shoulder) my car died since the alternator went out and it drained the battery. I was stuck waiting almost 2 hours for a tow and I was stuck with a bill for towing and getting the alternator replaced. Strike 3. I went back to this location a few days later to get a refund for the poor service they did on the alternator belt. They refused to refund me my money for the terrible service they performed. (I didnt even ask them to compensate me for the towing and alternator replacement caused by their shoddy work.) The customer service is absolutely atrocious here. I will not be going back and I will be filing a complaint with corporate. If anyone asks me where to go to get service done, I will tell them to stay away from Pepboys.

I have been going to this location for many years. The main reason Id go here is for an alignment, and Id get the 1 year warranty. The main reason Id come back is to get the re-alignment under warranty, and because Id get the rewards money. The first problem Ive encountered at every visit is the wait time. They seem to never have enough staff for their volume of customers. Expect to wait at least an hour for any service. My last visit was my last visit. I came in for an oil change and an alignment. It was about 10am on a Tuesday. I was told that it would be done in less than 2 hours(!), but it was the alignment that would make it take so long. I left and came back in an hour and 45 minutes. They had just put my car on the lift and hadnt even looked at it yet. I went outside to watch my car be serviced. Someone eventually changed the oil and did nothing else. Didnt rotate the tires, didnt do the alignment. So I waited 2 hours and 20 minutes for a half-assed oil change. When I checked out, I mentioned my disappointment and got no apology or explanation. Customer service at this location is consistently deplorable.

I had made an appointment at the Pep Boys in Crestwood to get 4 new tires that I had ordered installed. When I arrived at the Crestwood store, ON TIME, my tires were gone, sold to someone else. They asked if I wanted to make another appointment. Ha! Really? Why? So I can arrange for time off work AGAIN so I can be told AGAIN that my tires have been sold to someone else? From there I went to the Lansing store. I called ahead and asked for the tires I wanted. The gentlemen there were polite and charming and they hooked me up with the tires I wanted. They even took me in right away and the best part is that they actually put aside the tires I had asked for. They were right there by the door, all stacked up real nice with my name on them. It reminds me of that episode of Jerry Seinfeld where he reserved a rental car and it was gone when he arrived. "Anyone can take reservations, its the HOLDING thats important." The guys at the Lansing store know how to HOLD something thats been ordered. Thank you guys. You saved the day.

I called them for a can of touch up paint. The guy told me they had one can, he also pulled this one can from shelf and told me it would be in will cal. Igot there 45 minutes later.and told them I had a can of paint in will call. No one knew nothing about this call and they said everyone is here except one guy who was at lunch. They acted as if I was lying. I showed them the call on my phone cause they said i may have called the wrong store. They called the guy who was at lunch and he knew nothing. I had to travel over 5 miles to another location for one can.

If you have a Volvo try VTek around Harlem and 95th. Great guy awesome service but Im at pep boys. I hate this place but price over good service is what brings me in today. The guy behind the counter asks me how many miles are on the car I said Im not sure he says oh 130. I repeat that Im not sure and he doesnt say anything. Tried to see if I could take my tires to a different location but I ordered online so I had to get them serviced at this location. Really hate even being here right now. Read other reviews and man they suck everywhere. Oh well.

This place sucks!!! I came in at 3:35 PM and didnt leave till 4:45 pm. All I got was my 1 tire changed because of a flat. I had to tell the guy at the front desk and they forgot. Then they didnt have the right machine the guy said.

I bring both cars here whenever they need service or repairs. The service has always been great and the final charges are at the estimated price or lower. They are trustworthy and I am very happy with them.
