I love the equipment. .. some treadmills dont work .(MARKHAM).. and staff has all their kids there (under 12 yrs of age) who takes up equipment that paying patrons should use .. They dont allow you to bring in your own kids tho .. Very backwards and unfair if u ask me. .i pay every month for a guest and myself ..i was told my daughter could not be my guest BecAuse she is 11 .. so i pointed out the very small children (way smaller than her) *took pics*, and i was told by the manager ..they can be in there bcus they are staff kids ..i then ask so u mean to tell me im paying ..for 2 ppl ..and cant bring my under aged kid ..but all you all under aged kids can come ? He said yes .thats policy ..called the other one and coporate . And that was a lie. . As i previously stated. Its not right for emoloyees who are being paid to be at work (while im paying just to come), are able to bring their underaged kids, take up the equipment, whom can be seriously hurt (which no one seems to care about) is absurd ..no one watches them they just there . Jumping up and down on equiptment, using the treadmill wrong, where they can get seriously hurt ..im over the fact my under aged kid cant come, its just not right for them to not follow the same policy or contract we must adhere too. Like i said i love working out here .this specific charter fitness needs to get on board with rules and policies and on the same accord as the rest.and i give the Midlothian manager 2 thumbs up .she is simply superb. Bcus she is fair, honest, and explained things and made them much clearer..

I currently have two memberships. One here at Charter Fitness and one at Planet Fitness in Pullman Park. I prefer Charter fitness simply because its usually less crowded than Planet Fitness and they have a lot more free space; however, BIG HOWEVER, the staff at Planet Fitness are ALOT more welcoming and friendly. At Planet Fitness, they give you a warm greeting upon entering and exiting their facilities. The staff at Charter Fitness will rarely speak to you, and if they do it doesnt sound sincere at all. It can be three of them at the front desk, and no one will say good morning or enjoy your workout as they do at Planet Fitness. In addition, theres usually a shortage on towels. There has been on more than one occasion where Ive had to ask them to restock the towels, and of course theyve acted as if I was bothering them. When in fact, its their job to make sure towels are stocked. Im all about customer service. Not only that, a ton of their machines are always broken. More specifically a lot of the treadmills are always broken. Im a paying customer. Without my monthly membership or others monthly membership to this gym, youd be out of a job. Charter Fitness needs to get their staff together!

I have a charter fitness membership that allows me to bring a guest. I attended their gym and was bringing my wife as a guest. The staff member would not allow be to bring my wife in because her account was past due. That should not have been relevant because she was my guest and I pay extra to have a guest join me at gyms. This woman lied to me stating it was in the contract that I couldnt bring a none paying member in as a guest. I read through the contract and it was not in there. I asked her to show me where it was written. She refused to show me but continued to affirm that it was listed. Finally she just ended with "We reserve to refuse service to anyone." You cant take my money then refuse to serve me. This was the most incompetent staff member I have ever seen in my life.

I do not care about the staff not being as welcoming as other gyms because I prefer to just get straight to what I go to the gym to do. Work out. Now about working out. How the hell am I supposed to do that if half the equipment is broken? More specifically the treadmills. Thankfully the time of day I go is usually less crowded, but it is VERY irritating to go through 4 and 5 treadmills before getting one that actually works. Oh, and God forbid I actually want to check my heart rate. Whole other rant for the "functional treadmills". SmH. I know the value of a dollar, so for any of mine be it $11 or $111, I totally expect better equipment at the facility of my choosing. Get on the ball Charter!!!

I really love this place! Its so laid back, clean, good music and atmosphere! I really love all the windows that brings in natural light! The women bathroom is ALWAYS EXTRA CLEAN!!!!!! I give this gym a 200% out of 100%. But, theres always a "but" the cardio machines could use some major updating especially the treadmills! They are old, wobbly & a few stay OUT OF SERVICE. Im not a big fan of the bikes either but I mostly do weight training and I have ZERO complaints about that! And the staff ALWAYS greet me when Im coming and going but I would be fine if they didnt because I dont go to the gym for conversation anyways

All the cardio machines are broken !!! There is always treadmills that are down and as well the stair machines ! These are machines people use everyday why not get new ones and invade having to get the machines fixed over and over again. It will make people 100% happier and towels are always in shortage. If they improve in this area I would give them a 5 star rating, because it is easier too get a work out here since it is emptier than other gyms and a lot more relaxed I love coming here. Just do not like waiting for the stair machine for an hour.

Was walked in on by a man in the ladies bathroom. With no acknowledgement of him being a guy. Dont know why the lady staff members didnt go in to check before he stepped inside was very pissed and when the staff lady saw or i expressed to her she then didnt try to offer an apology or anything. Was not pleased to see this man looking at me with my pants down felt very disrespected and still neither the guy nor lady staff had anything to say. This is definitely not a peep show so maybe train your people to do the respectable thing.

HORRIBLE !!!! ALL MACHINES ARE BROKEN STAFF IS RUDE LAZY ETC. I WORK OUT HERE ON my LUNCH BREAK. I go to my main gym at night. The place is a joke . $10 a month and a $40 maintenance fee That they dont tell you about . Every treadmill is broke good luck with the dumbells their broke . And the gm is total douche bag walks around and does nothing . Trainers are not even trainers. And they play chief keef for music . Lol a total joke

I have been a member of Charter Fitness for a few years now, and just the past two years, I have been more active, and with doing so with attending Charter Fitness I have lost 35 plus pounds, and I am not done!! It would be awesome if they could add a smoothie bar, over all I love coming here, and love it even more because its just a few blocks from my home!! CHARTER FITNESS ROCK!!!
