I have been a happy patron of Quads gym for nearly three years now, and I honestly cant say that Ive had a better gym experience in Chicago. Sure, the gym isnt the brightest and cleanest (like FFC which is right down the street) but it has a great offering of options to fit anyones workout. Its known for being a body building gym, but it doesnt solely cater to this crowd as they have a whole cardio area stocked with treadmills, stairsteppers, and exercise bikes. If cardio isnt your thing, they have three separate rooms filled with various free weights and squat racks or a wide variety of weight machines. Dave, the owner, frequently runs the front desk and always greets you with a smile and a warm hello. He makes an effort to know your name and a bit about you, which is a great personal touch. The other staff members that run the desk are friendly and helpful as well. I cant say enough great things about Quads. If youre looking for a great no-frills gym with a very competitive price tag, then definitely give them a chance.

This gym is perfect for anyone who enjoys lifting! Ive never had to wait for any machine/piece of equipment and always get a great pump when I go here. The machines might not be this years model but how much have machines really changed over the last decade? They have at least 5 full sets of dumbbells and always have open benches. Very friendly environment as well. The owner and guys who work the front desk are really nice and always willing to help and the people who lift there are always happy to give a spot. If you want an environment that is going to motivate you and allow you to get the most out of your lifts, then there is not better gym in Chicago. And for like $60 a month you cant beat it.

The owner Dave is there quite often and super friendly. I ended up chatting with him for about 10 minutes about things completely not gym related before I signed up. The rest of the staff has been very friendly and so have the other gym goers. Its really easy to ask people questions and the gym is kept in great condition. The equipment doesnt really get much better, and every puts weights back when finished as per gym rules. As an intermediate lifter Im not intimidated at all by some of the larger guys in there, and the up front no contract membership was a big plus. A little more than I was paying for Xsport but well worth it.

Had I not signed up with my personal trainer who trains strictly at Quads Gym, I would never had noticed this unassuming gym. The gym is great for a variety of reasons...its never too crowded, its packed with every type of equipment imaginable, and its unpretentious. The focus of the gym is really for weight lifting, but theres also ample cardio equipment, plus a boxing area and jujitsu classes. Membership prices are also very competitive and no contract or start up fees. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a gym with a focus on weight training.

I love this gym. They always have the weights I need available because they have so many. Its never too crowded. I dont feel like Im paying for extras that I dont use. The most important part of belonging here is that they never try to sell me anything. Without contracts, I dont feel any pressure and I dont have to worry about being charged when I dont want to be. Dave, the owner, knows my name and greets me whenever I enter. That kind of personal touch makes the Quads experience that much better.

Every time I go to Chicago I get so excited to visit this gym. Ive been to a lot of gyms around the US and this gym by far has one of the best selections of machines. The bathrooms are clean too, which is always a plus :). I currently train at Armbrust Pro Gym in Denver CO so you know my review is legit, haaa My only request would be that carry some Small or Medium in their shirts, for myself and the rest of the ladies that visit/ train there :)

Best gym in Chicago by far. No basketball court, no racket ball court, no pool, mostly weight and cardio equipment. If you are looking for all the extras this is not the gym for you. Great for fitness or bodybuilding competitors. The owner, Dave, is a great guy and treats everybody great. No hard sales, no pressure so sign long term membership, buy training, or other products. wouldnt change gyms even if i move to other side of the city.

Great equipment. Great gym for everyone, especially bodybuilders and powerlifters. They have 2 large floors, you will never have to wait for equipment because there is probably at least one similar machine somewhere else in the gym. Varied cardio equipment as well. Several power racks, olympic plates, plyo boxes, several types of barbells, dumbbells,... They have everything.

The only thing good about this place is a variety of lift equipment. The rest is iffy: showers - no soap and no curtains, questionable cleanness of locker rooms, no towels provided, a/c does not work properly, equipment positioned too close at times... $13 for one day pass for the above ? But if you like vintage gyms, its totally your place.

This is one of the most fully equipped gym Ive seen around Chicago. Quads is a great gym because its not like a lot of trendy health clubs. Their equipment is state of the art, and the people who work out at Quads are serious bodybuilders. Dave and the other trainers at Quads make you feel welcomed.

Authentic old school gym- a pleasant rarity among today mainstream health clubs. Friendly & inviting with a tremendous amount of equipment - much you cant fine elsewhere.
