I didnt have my car serviced here. I called to get a quote on the replacement of the timing belt for my 2006 A4 and they quoted a price of $1,100, which was not unreasonable. However, I also needed the thermostat replaced and they told me that this would cost ~$500, which was also not unreasonable given the rates around the area. The total quote was $1,600. It also took them over 4 hours to get back to me with a quote following my first call. Rennology told me that the thermostat "was on the other side of the car" so there was no labor overlap for doing the two jobs together. I called another shop that I have done business with in the past and specializes in European cars. The mechanic told me that the thermostat is located in the engine compartment (as would be expected) and that I could realize significant labor savings by having the two jobs done together. His quote, which also uses OEM parts and the entire timing belt kit, $1,000. Rennologys quote was 60% higher. Technically, the two jobs that Rennology quoted were in line with what other independent shops were charging separately, albeit on the higher end. But in this case, they were double dipping on the labor because the labor for the two jobs of getting to the timing belt and replacing the thermostat overlap. They also claim that they are 20% cheaper than the dealer, but is that really something to brag about when the dealer is at least 50% higher than market. These guys have to learn how to build long term relationships rather than turn a quick buck. Buyer beware!

I brought my 5 series BMW to Rennology for a brake job after getting outrageous quotes from various Chicago land BMW dealers and even an independent mechanic. I knew I needed some pads and rear rotors and a rear caliper that appeared to be sticking. I brought it in and Richard and his team initially thought I would need a rear caliper but when they called to tell me it was ready I was informed that they were able to rebuild the caliper at no charge and saved me over $300.00 (the cost of a new caliper). When was the last time a mechanic gave you that kind of news? Richard and his team did a complete inspection of my vehicle (over 90,000 miles) and let me know what work needed to be done now and what could be saved for later. After dealing with Richard and his team, I know that he will tell me the truth and will only complete repairs that are necessary and will do so at a reasonable price. While maintaining and repairing European cars is never cheap, with Rennology, I am completely confident that I will get excellent service at a reasonable price.

The staff at Rennology Motor Sports, Inc are most professional and competent in every aspect of the care they give to your vehicle. Richard is friendly and very knowledgable about every upgrade and issue related to your car. Donna is likewise, very knowledgable and most pleasant. The technical staff are honest, efficient and get it right the first time ... the latter, a rare novelty in todays automobile repair arena. I have been with Rennology since its inception and will continue to do so for all of my vehicles. In my opinion, there is no better place to bring your car, private or dealership owned, in Chicago and its neighboring suburbs. You will not be disappointed!

I brought my 06 Cayenne Turbo S to Richard @ Rennology for some major transmission and cooling system service. His staff was able to diagnose a faulty transmission valve body after a local dealer told me it was only computer module issue to avoid the repair under warranty. It now shifts flawlessly, has zero leaks, and feels like a brand new car. The Cayenne spent only two weeks with them, for what I consider, a major repair. Throughout the whole process Donna kept me informed of everything that was going on with my car. There is a reason this is the 15th five star review on google. Special thanks to Richard, Casey, Donna and the rest of the crew at Rennology.

The people at Rennology make all the difference. In a world where you can go just about anyplace for an oil change (Wal Mart anyone?), the people here not only are nice and helpful but most importantly do great work! I have had my vehicle there several times and just knowing the work is done right makes me feel confident to go back. I love that they check all your fluid levels, brake pads and even the horn! They are honest about what needs to be done "now" and what can wait a few months. I never feel like they are trying to make an extra buck from me. GREAT WORK...for the people, the work and the company.

Richard and Donna are the best people to do business with Ive encountered in forty years of car repairs. Everything was spelled out to a T. The work was performed exactly as described, and at the estimated cost. I believe them to be incredibly honest, fair and genuinely caring. Yes theyre in business to make money, but they have the best interest of the client at heart. My only regret is that its an 80 mile round trip - but it is worth it. If there ever was a business that treated its clients like they want to be treated, its this one. It just doesnt get better.

I race motorcycles and have worked with numerous mechanics. I can spot a good one from a mile away now. The work these guys did to my Volvo c70 was top notch. I have yet to see a shop mark every single nut and bolt they touched ensuring it was torqued to perfection like these guys do. I know about this because my motorcycle race mechanics do it. I have never seen an auto shop take this attention to detail. Richard and Donna did a great job at answering all my questions. The car was done when they said it would be, for the price they quoted.

I took my 2005 Mercedes Benz CLK 500 for some suspension/wheel and tire modifications and regular service. All I can say is that they do a top notch job at Rennology. Richard and his mechanics have a ton of experience and the customer service is exquisite. communication is extraordinary and they make their customers feel welcome. Richard takes the time to explain everything he is doing with his customers and doesnt try and sell you things you dont want. I highly recommend taking your euro import to Rennology. They do a great job.

Took my 2005 Boxster to Donna and Richard for the infamous IMS update which also included new clutch. Had to drive in from Iowa and stay overnight, but it was worth it. Extremely professional shop with templates for bolts, and efficient steps to remove and replace all parts. Six months later and all works perfectly. Also got to observe them working on other Porsches, Audis etc. and very impressed with the shop. Highly recommend if you want stuff done right the first time.

These guys are amazing! Very friendly down to earth people and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to German imports. Most importantly, they are honest. Many aftermarket companies I have dealt with in the past will let you install whatever you want on your car as long as they get paid. These guys take the time to explain to you how to get what you want out of your car and any possible pitfalls in your design ideas. I will never go to another shop for any of my EU imports!
