I took my car to these folks because the check engine light came on. When I went to pick it up the car had damage to the right fender. Im not the first, please read previous google review. The damage doesnt look like something hit it, it looks like it got damaged on the lift because the damage is from the inside of the fender on the edge. They had the car parked in a gravel lot across the street. I told the owner Chris what damage had occurred and he agreed to have it fixed. He told us to bring the car to his shop and he would have the work done at his cost. I agreed. When we got there I had 3 legitimate questions that I wanted answered: 1. Whats the name of the company that will do the work. 2. Where will my car be garaged during repair (remember he had it parked in a gravel lot before) 3. Who will take responsibility for the car during the repairs by his subcontractor. The owner looked very surprised that I asked him these questions. He then said "I dont know what you mean." I repeated the 3 questions again; I had already written them on paper. He played dumb for about 5 minutes, and then pulled a page straight out of Business Thuggery 101, he then said "I dont like being talked down to", no he just doesnt like knowledgeable customers. I then asked for some type of receipt showing he has my car. I dont care what subcontractor he uses, I just cant give keys to a buddy of his that just got off work. Someone has to take responsibility. His buddy said he doesnt even have a business name. Chris couldnt find the logic in what I requested. How unethical is that? Im suppose to just give the keys to my Jaguar to one of his beer buddies and no one wants a paper trail. These folks refused to even give me a work order showing what was being done. If theyre not going to follow the U.C.C.(Uniform Commerical Code), then he ought not be in business. Well, I went through the BBB and filed a complaint. He did a lot of editorializing when answering and still now refuses to do the repair. Remember previously he had agreed, then said no after If figured out that he and his body repair buddy were going to overcharge me for the ancillary body work and have me absorb the cost of the damage done by Tinely Park Auto. Its only $200 of damage, When they damage someones car, thats the cost of doing business, he should have fixed the vehicle, taken a tax write-off and moved on. But he didnt do the right thing and I wonder how many other customers have had vehicle damage by these guys? BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

We had our minivan worked on here, and it was the best repair shop experience that I had ever had. We needed brake work done, and we knew it. They indicated to me that they would use utilize their time with the vehicle to inspect other parts of the vehicle as well. I am completely suspicious of such tactics, as it can easily be used to exploit a hapless customer and his pocket book. I told them my opinion directly but let them proceed, because I really needed to get the work done, and figured I would have to play along with the usual repair shop games. They did their inspection, and I expected my upsell call, but it didnt work out like that. They emailed me a written report that outlined their diagnosis. It was comprehensive, commented well, and documented with photographic evidence to support their conclusions. I was stunned. I read the report, looked at the pictures and took it all in. After I received it and had time to process it, they called me to discuss it. They had concluded was that I needed brakes, NOW. Furthermore, instead of upselling me, the report pointed out (with backing photographs) a couple of wear and tear items that I was both unaware of, and interested in. For these items they concluded that the need to immediately repair was not present. They won me over. Their process was excellent, and the customer service / workmanship outstanding. Professional. Thanks again to everyone there.

It means a lot to me to support local businesses and Im glad to add this to my trustworthy list. I recently had my car serviced for emissions issues and they ran one of the most comprehensive diagnostics that was emailed to me outlining the issues. I also was called and was fully informed of what needed fixed now along with what could wait and what couldnt. They even went and took it in for the testing for me to make sure it passed (what place does that?!). I spoke with Jeff I believe, who was really nice and informative, and when I questioned some things on the invoice I didnt understand he took the time to explain everything and wasnt at all bothered by my need to know details which made me a very satisfied customer. They also shuttled me home when I dropped it off which was convenient. Also, when I picked up my car initially, I also met the cutest new staff member (a puppy). So glad to have a reputable shop in the area, and I feel I paid a fair price for the work which I looked up. Highly recommend if youre looking for an honest and quality place.

I could not be any more pleased with the service here. I dealt with Jim through out the whole process and he was pleasant and informative every step of the way. I took my car in so I could get it to pass emissions and not only did they have my car fixed within a day but they also drove out to the testing facility and passed the test for me! I felt like I paid a very fair price as well. No complaints and Jim even gave me several different options and price points. I would highly recommend Tinley Auto Repair & Towing to anyone looking for a good honest mechanic that will address their car problems.

we took our 2003 Hyundai Elantra to Tinley Auto Repair about 3 months ago for a check engine light issue. 3 other shops couldnt fix it. Hyundai dealer wanted $1300 to repair, which would have been the wrong repair. tinley auto took 3 days to diagnose the issue but they got. For less than $200. Passed emissions test and check engine light is still OFF. They have new loyal customers!!

I had my car towed in there witha whole mess of stuff wrong with it. I had them give me a quote and I was taken back how expensive it was then i took it to AJs auto in joliet and it was a difference of $1,500. Also I had a huge dent in my side pannel so i dont know if it was from tinley or AJs but im guessing it was from Tinley cause I decided not to go with them...

Dealt with Chris and a couple of repairs that I thought were going to be very expensive. He worked very hard to get the job done quickly and only fixed what needed to be fixed. In addition he has experience with all types of vehicles including vintage and classics. I would not hesitate to send anyone to him for repairs or maintenance.
